It had taken me some time to put the proper words in place for a review, but not many words top Phenomenal! From the very moment we walked through the door, we knew this was where we wanted to host our wedding. Sonia, the owner, and her entire family were nothing short of a blessing. She took time out to walk us through the process and did not pressure us while making our decision. She was kind and an absolutely amazing when it came to remaining professional. The venue is beautiful and the staff for the evening made my guests feel like family, just as Sonia did with us. There is plenty of parking and security on duty for your event. Sonia has a team of vendors that can supply your every need and she connects all of the dots so that you don’t have to run around town searching for extra items. We were able to customize our decor, select our menu, set up transportation and order our cake with Sonia without any hiccups. This was such an amazing experience and we love the venue and staff so much that we will be hosting my daughter’s birthday party here as well. Sonia makes your event planning so smooth and easy, just tell her your vision or theme and she will make it happen. From centerpieces to table settings, the outcome will be beautiful. We recently celebrated our daughter’s coming of age (debutante—18th) birthday party at Venue at Memorial. We have to say that we couldn’t have picked a better place for this very special event! !!! The venue seemed like an extension of our home, except much bigger, more elegant with a cozy ambiance. Our party coordinator (owner), Sonia Acosta, was nothing less than awesome! She helped us plan the event details and we are glad that we listened to her suggestions with the decorations, to the table set up, color coordination etc. The venue was just perfect for a place where you could put your personal touch to the set-up, displaying your own individual style. If you want a venue for a more intimate get together even if your guest list is over 100 guests, this wins over any venue in more ways than one. We give this place 5 stars out of 5!!!! More...

Don't let the parking lot fool you. Once you step in the doors you forget about what's outside. The staff was willing and attentive from beginning to end. However it would have been nice if everything was completed and done 30 minutes before guests started to arrive. Our Celebration of Life came together nicely and many compliments were expressed. Sonia and Gabbie at VAM are an team from heaven. From my first phone call to inquire about the venue, until the day after my daughter's beautiful formal wedding, I could not have gotten better care, concern, and service from any other venue.
Also, we are not American, Mexican, or Italian, which are the main cuisines they feature, so I had concerns about the food. Sonia communicated our needs to Chef Sandra, who is in charge of the catering. Chef Sandra did her research, and hit the nail on the head for our mixed Trinidadian and Nigerian menu. Our guests are still ranting and raving over the delicious food.
Our family now calls VAM "the big little place", because while it held our 140 guests comfortably. My daughter has an aversion to big, gaudy ballrooms with wildly pattered carpeting, so VAM was just what she dreamed of. It was very warm and intimate, which was just the feel we were going.
Sonia, the owner, and Gabby the manager bent over backwards to make sure we were pleased. Even when I got busy and forgot to buy iced tea for the bar...what did I find in glasses during dinner? ICED TEA!!! They also worked very well with our event planning company June Plumm Events, to maje sure all specification were met. I simply cannot say enough about these wonderful ladies.
We started with them as clients, and we left as friends, but we are not gone forever. This place is Houston's best kept secret for events, and we will return.
