My Fiancé and I had our wedding cake tasting and consultation at VanillaBean. We had so much fun tasting all the different combinations of cakes, frostings and fillings. Everything tasted so delicious, it was very difficult to make our final decisions. As far as how we wanted the cake decorated, they knew exactly what we were looking for and how we wanted it to be presented. We can't wait to see the finished product in June! We chose to use VanillaBean Bakeshop for our upcoming wedding (10/2018). We are having pies and also a small cake for cutting. So far, we have been to the Bakeshop 2x for tastings - once to taste pies with my fiance and both of our parents (6 of us total!) and once to taste the small cutting cake with just my fiance. The Bakeshop was welcoming of our big group and talked us through everything (as we've never done this before), offered ideas and suggestions, including considerations that helped make decisions such as set-up and serving of the pies. When we went back to taste the small cutting cake, 1 month before the wedding, my brain was fried after making so many decisions, and so the staff person helped me to come up with a simple and pretty plan for the cake decor. I appreciated her expertise and thoughtfulness. We live out of town, and so when there was an emergency of one of the shop staff's family members and they had to reschedule the second tasting, another staff member came in after hours to fit us in the same day, as we didn't know if we could make it back to Midland before the wedding. They have delicious baked goods. Custom cake orders must be placed in advanced. If you are doing a last minute party you can go in and pick out a cake they have on display and they can do simplistic designs and lettering usually within fifteen minutes.

They made my wedding cake for this past weekend and I just can't believe how awesome they did. It was a pretty big cake with a lot going on and they did a wonderful job of creating what I had imagined. I had a few different flavors in the cake and every kind was really good. The cake was moist and the frosting had the right consistency. If you want some baked goods, get them from these guys! More...

I had a great experience with VanillaBean Bake Shop. I am located in San Diego, and wanted to place an order to be delivered to a couple specials little girls (in Midland).
Everyone was very nice and happy to help make it happen. They were great with suggestions of flavors. They even wrote a personalized note to put on the box. Delivery was right on time. And the cupcakes and truffles were a huge hit!!

I recently ordered a very special cake from Vanilla Bean( Daughters baby shower), and I have to say that it was the best cake I have ever eaten! The cake, decorated in a Simba theme was a main attraction at the shower! Thank you for making a cake decorated so well, and just as tasty for this special occasion!
