Valerio made us two beautiful fitted bespoke wardrobes and a bench seat with storage for our flat. The wardrobes are incredible, fit the spaces (including a very awkward loft room with sloping ceilings, protruding brickwork etc) perfectly and they look amazing. Sliding doors, awkward spaces and four flights of stairs didn’t put Valerio off. Everything from first meeting to drawings and installation was a joy with Valerio, and we love our new wardrobes. Very disappointing. I wouldn’t trust Valerio to make me a lolly stick. After installing the mirror he made I spotted an extra join on one side, cutting straight across the grain. Valerio insisted this was normal and they’d had to cut out a blemish in the wood, but (as I confirmed with another joiner) this should never happen and is a fundamental joinery no-no. Valerio continued to insist nothing was wrong and only offered a refund after I threatened to seek official intervention. He then eventually took the mirror away but charged a collection fee we had never agreed to, taking it out of the refund without asking. Not a good experience. More...

What do you love most about your job?
Turning a desire, an idea into reality. I love to collaborate with my clients and full fill their needs.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My father had a workshop and I grow up creating objects and making artefacts. Later on I worked as an architect and then as a Product designer.
Thingsmaker is the ultimate combination of my practical and theoretical experiences.
Why should our clients choose you?
Because I'm not just a carpenter and because I'm not just a designer. I have a 360 degrees view on any project, from the construction point of view to the user experience/aesthetics.
