Shannon Lynne Sullivan has been an incredible teacher for the STAR Puppy course I took with my Beauceron. My review comes not only from the customer perspective, but as a dog trainer I can say that Shannon is a definite asset to the program and to Urban Pooch. I took the course because I wanted my puppy to have training in a controlled environment with other dogs and people, and because my partner is new to dogs and I wanted him to see how other dog trainers do what they do. She is great at engaging everyone in her classes and keeping the pace of her classes consistent. She works hard to stay up to date on training techniques and was available to answer any questions. I would recommend Urban Pooch to anyone interested in group classes for their dog. I am a dog trainer with my own business, but I do not offer group classes, so even I would recommend Urban Pooch! Our pup had a consultation at Urban Pooch this month with Karen. We wanted to get more information and assess which class he'd be a good fit for. I couldn't have more glowing things to say about Karen. It's clear she is a serious expert, and it's such a joy to watch and learn from someone who truly understands canine behavior. My pup adored her. He learned more from her in ~30 minutes of their time together than he did in the months combined since I adopted him (and that is not for lack of trying on my part!) Though Urban Pooch is out of our way for both work and home, we fell head over heels in love with their facility and staff. It looks brand new and smells sparkling clean. I've been to plenty of training facilities in the city, and nothing compares to the friendliness, cleanliness and expertise of their staff. Our fur babies are becoming good citizens ready for well-behaved trips on the town. Their eager to please with training in just a few lessons. We signed up for levels and are seeking the AKC master trick class with our sweet girl who is already nearly perfect. It's well worth the drive for us and all trainers and staff have compassionate, thorough demeanour which helps inspire us to be bettwr dog pawrents too. The store inside offers leads, treats, toys and a few novelties to keep your companion stimulated and keen. Urban Pooch has day care and boarding that folks rave about but we have yet to try. Loving training so far, cant wait for master trick class and introducing agility to our border collie mixes. More...

Best doggie daycare in Chicago, hands down! The owners are amazing, the handlers are smart and experienced, the facility is brilliantly designed, they can handle all your canine needs! Truly is more than a day care, it's a CANINE LIFE CENTER. Drop off your dig for an overnight stay, have him groomed while you're away, pick up some toys and food when you come to get him. Ever since we adopted our husky last year, we have been bringing him to Urban Pooch to run off his energy during the day while I sleep after my night shifts. It's amazing because he gets the socialization and activity he deserves. All of the staff here are wonderful and friendly. I know my dog is very excited when it's time to go to daycare. I take my dog here for their LEVELS training classes and it's been great. I love the flexibility of being able to go to any class my dog is ready for and that I can go as many times I want. The package may seem pricey, but I'm taking my dog at least 3-4 times a week, which actually makes each class cost less than a package elsewhere. Also, she's definitely learning better because we're getting structured class more often vs. only once a week. I've mostly worked with David and Shannon and both trainers have been amazing! More...

Nice place , nice people. Almost got suckered into a 2 hour visitation, just to get my dog's nails trimmed.
What do you need that requires 2 hours of me, without my dog?
They, so far, havent tried to guilt me into buying there products as Bentleys has been doing lately.
I like a place that lets ME, the pet owner, choose what's good for my dog.

We adopted a pup from the CACC and we had him trained for two weeks and he came back well mannered and obedient!
We now use Urban Pooch for day care and for bathing/nails.
He loves it and love that he is tired out for nearly two days when he spends four hours there.
