The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Both times my pup and I have been here, they've checked with me first before proceeding with anything that I might get charged for so that I don't feel pressured or overcharged or upsold. Have been coming to Dr. Garg for about a year now for our 8 year old puggle. They're great with him and the office staff is always friendly and accommodating. Dr. Garg is thorough in his medical assessment and honest in giving medical advice. I have only had positive experiences with Dr. Garg and his staff. I have had to put one cat down due to cancer and they were nothing but gracious and patient with us as we said goodbye, making sure she was comfortable and that we were aware of everything along the way. With my second cat, he was diagnosed with diabetes and Dr. G and his staff again, have been incredibly helpful as we navigate this new lifestyle. They are kind, thoughtful, patient, and I never feel as though I am being taken advantage of or that am being asked to run extra tests that may or may not be needed. Highly recommend. More...

Absolutely love this place. Still drive from San Mateo to San Francisco for them to take care of my lab Kylo. Would not consider a new vet, and would 100% recommend them to anyone. The level of care and explanation they provide is second to none, and they have never attempted to upsell me or run any unnecessary tests. Really, really wonderful team here. I've been to several of the top rated vets in SF and this team blows the rest out of the water.
1. They really care about the animals. I got follow up calls to check in on my cat days after her visit. When I had to leave her there overnight, the team knew her and her personality and has clearly spent time trying to keep her comfortable and happy.
2. They were always upfront about costs and willing to give me options. Every time they suggested a treatment, they gave me an estimate of costs before moving forward.
3. The doctors are very skilled and super smart. They were always willing to explain both the diagnosis and the treatment medically in a way that made sense.
Great team, highly recommend them.

An expected emergency with our little Bogey (shitzu) forced us to find him emergency medical help late on a holiday...luckily for all of us, Urban Pet Hospital was not only open, but took great care of all of us.

Dog ate chocolate and had to be rushed to the vet. Called UPH and they stayed open for him, even though we weren't current patients. Super attentive and nice staff members helped worried waiting dog parents calm down a bit. They also have estimates for how much things would cost before administering them which I appreciated. Definitely will be coming back here for my dog's regular check-ups! More...

Our beagle had a history of allergy & congestive heart failure symptoms, Dr. Garg was quite thorough in his initial exam of her, while also realistic about her chances of combating the problems. When the time came to put her down, he and his staff were quite comforting during that very difficult time for my wife and I. My only wish was that we had started to visit Dr. Garg earlier before her symptoms had progressed so far; we wasted precious time (and spent lots of money) with other vets, most of whom didn't have a clue what to do and never game us the confidence needed to have trust in their diagnosis. Urban pet hospital helped us in a time for emergency with our little pup and they were amazing. They took him in immediately without even a phone call first and were very sweet and gentle with him, as well as being very informative with us. Both the front desk and Dr. Hoque were caring, accommodating, and extremely efficient. They asked many questions about our dog's care and feeding and made recommendations. They went out of their way and called our previous vet to ensure that only needed vaccines and treatments were given. I particularly appreciated being able to be in the treatment room with Dr. Hoque. Not only could I reassure our rescue dog who was traumatized by having been abandoned twice at previous vets, but also ask the good doctor about general care questions I was not finding answers online. The doctor and staff are really friendly and obviously pet lovers. They're always on schedule so you won't have to wait too long for the doctor to see you. The facility is clean and spacious.
