Had a fabulous neck and back massage by Demi at the spa. Both Tanya and demi were very attentive. A hen do with friends with afternoon tea. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had very nice time visiting the hotel spa and gym facilities, staff was very welcoming and caring, I really enjoyed hot stone massage by lovely Tanya. As we purchased the afternoon tea package, we were served glasses of prosseco and plates with tasty sandwiches, cakes and scones. Well at the time I left my review, the average score for the Urban Hotel in Grantham was 3.6 out of 5 stars, making it a little above average. I would certainly agree with that! Stayed there whilst working in Easton, the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. On my first night there I went for a swim, the pool was very clean there was a also a hot tub any gym facilities which were impressive. Had a steak in the restaurant, only an 8oz but it was very tasty and cooked to my liking! Room was very clean all the facilities good and very comfortable. Stayed for one night before a competition at the Arena UK which is about 7 minutes away from the hotel. Was pleasantly surprised by the hotel, it does need a bit of an update, but the staff were very friendly and helpful, any problem that we had was sorted very quickly. The bar area was nice and even meal was good, plus the breakfast in the morning, which was most welcome before the day of competing. The only thing that caused problem was the shower which was the most powerful shower that I have ever stood under. It was so powerful it moved the shower head up on its own and soaked most of the bathroom. Other than that would recommend this hotel if in the area for a night stay. More...

Reasonably clean and friendly staff. Spacious room nonsmokong room with fairly comfortable king-size bed. Shower and bathroom facilities were pretty nice. Room did not have any refrigerator. There were no outlets near the bed or end tables, so charging a phone or device overnight is problematic if you also need it near you to use as a clock or alarm. Our room had a large window. The outside wall faced east towards the A-1 motorway, so there was a noticeable amount of traffic noise audible in the room. More...

Stayed for a friend's 60th birthday. Private dining and all inclusive bar 2pm - midnight. Fabulous time was had by all. Food was good, rooms lovely and clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Areas for improvement food temperature needs to be hotter for me and temperature of communal areas could be warmer. Regular monitoring of these areas would resolve this. Ten of us stayed for a spa weekend 4th-5th Nov '17.
The staff were very friendly, pleasant and helpful. The afternoon tea was fantastic, and the spa staff and treatments were amazing.
The spa area lets it down slightly as it's quite a small area, and we were given robes in dribs and drabs throughout the afternoon, apparently due to not being able to dry them in time. The rooms we were given were really nice, and the bed very comfy. The evening meal was a bit of a let down as a new menu had recently been launched and caused a few teething problems with service. So apart from it taking ages to deliver a 3 course meal, the food was delicious.
Overall we had a good time away together, and we would stay again.

I recently spent a couple of days at this luxurious spa hotel. LOVED every moment. Slept like a baby...staff were all impeccable. .theyd so anything. Spa was dreamy...gym spot on...breakfast was SERIOUSLY amazing.. i want to come back!!! Only flaw in entire stay was my booking was invisible and id been forgotten about and in my bathroom...the shower waa awful. Head was filthy and water pressure rubbish but i overlooked that as the rest of the room was was perfect! More...

A nice little hotel on the outskirts of Grantham which aims to provide a nice posh experience but can sometimes be mistaken for outdated rather than it's intentions. This can be avoided with general maintenance to the rooms and bathrooms especially which we found to be in need of a bit more upkeep (grout in tiles and bath etc). The staff's helpfulness and professionalism was second to none and in no way is this a negative review. I write this in hope that management notices that things do need to be updated to eliminate the misconceptions that are constantly mentioned about this hotel and make it truly worthy of a 5 star review. We happened to stay here when there was a major event on so the whole hotel was completely booked out. It was chaotic but the issues we had were dealt with well.
The manager was professional and friendly even though he was under great pressure.
