Chris was awesome to work with from day one! I had so many questions, and not only did he responded quickly and thoroughly every time, he also added additional guidance and advice of what he's seen in the past, since he's been doing this for so long. All his tips were priceless. Above that, he invited me and my fiancé to his food truck and made a sample of everything he was thinking of serving at our wedding. It was an unexpected treat and made us so much more excited that he was catering our wedding because we could confidently say the food was delicious. He catered our wedding and provided the bartenders and wait staff. I only heard great reviews from my guests that his bartenders and other staff were also awesome - great bartending skills and with smiling faces. Urban Cowboy's short bus food truck recently settled in a Desert Door Distillery on a Saturday afternoon. Didn't really know what to expect as I'd never even heard of them. Seems most of the pics on Yelp concentrate on actual fully catered events. Food looks beautiful; let's see how they did on street food.Well, holy smokes those were some good bites. Immediate favorite was the home made "loaded" tater tots. Perfectly fried little tater morsels gently covered in ranch, sriracha, and cilantro. This dish was so popular that they eventually ran out! I'm thinking I'd drive anywhere in ATX to find this dish again. Next fave was the steak and manchego taco. Tender beef paired with generous slices of avocado and chopped cilantro. In the same paper boat I also snuck in a crawfish salad slider garnished with a pickled okra. If I wasn't already full I also ordered a corn dog! Chris is amazing! We hired UCSF for the bar and dinner at our wedding and we loved it. The food was great and the drinks too. Chris was very friendly and worked with us patiently to make sure we got what we wanted sticking to our budget. Chris and his team handled all the food and bar services at our wedding, as well as the set up and break down of the site. They did a great job.We had the food truck (bus ) serving tacos for dinner. After our tasting we had chosen the: ancho-raspberry braised short rib, fried avocado, grilled mahi-mahi, and crispy honey-sriracha fried chicken. All were delicious and a big hit with our guests.We loved the complimentary tapas/charcuterie type table they set up at our cocktail hour with cheeses, crackers, pickled veggies, etc.The staff were friendly. Chris was kind enough to respond to all my crazy emails with endless concerns and coordinations. We had passed apps as well. The steak negimaki (which they altered slightly for our preference) and the crab cakes were perfection. I'll say the cauliflower crostini was a little mushier and more oily than it was at our tasting.Bar service was smooth and staff were prompt to tidy as guests ate. The were efficient and thorough in the set-up and break-down of the site.Lastly, one of our vases blew over and  broke at our cocktail pavilion. Even though it wasn't her responsibility (as the flower crew was still around) one of the UC employees, without being asked, cleaned and swept everything up right away. We hired Urban Cowboy for our wedding this weekend at Vista West Ranch and I cannot say enough good things about them. Our food was AMAZING and everyone agreed. Chris was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so accommodating to us changing our mind 100 times before we finally decided on a menu that worked best for us. My husband hardly eats any greens, ever, but he said that the thing he ate the most of out of everything at our wedding was the collard greens, because they were just that good. We used Chris and his crew for our wedding on 11.11.16. He met with us a month in advance to discuss our needs and make sure everything was perfect. Chris was very personable and VERY honest from the start. We had gotten the run around with a couple places with pricing before hand, but as soon as we got into contact with Chris everything was smooth and we had a contact drawn up by the end of the week. He stayed in contact with us the entire time and answered all of my wife's questions quickly via email. For our dinner we had the food truck with 4 different options of tacos and they were all delicious! We had the fried avocado tacos, crispy sriracha shrimp tacos, smoky chopped BBQ tacos, the Mahi mahi tacos, sides of Mac and cheese, and iced tea, water, and lemonade for the drinks. Everything turned out amazing! They pushed the food out fast and our guests were going up for seconds. The truck was decorated so cute and they even stayed late to ensure everyone had enough to eat and offer to help with any further needs or requests. I would most definitely use them again for any other event and if I ever see his food truck parked in Austin I'll be in line for another taco for sure! More...

I was in town for the #data16 Tableau conference this week in ATX, and at our final "Data Night Out" party at the Palmer Events Center, this was one of the multiple food trucks on-site catering the event. Urban Cowboy catered our wedding and they were fantastic. People loved the food so much they were taking multiple entrees and we almost ran out of food! Chris was so kind and courteous throughout the whole process even with multiple guest count and menu changes. They even do a kids table that is great if you have kids at your event.The food is a perfect mix of Texas and a little bit of style. Chris was amazing! The food came out so good for our wedding this past week, on June 24th, 2016, at Cedar Bend Events, outside of Austin. We had a wonderful menu of veggie ceviche & chicken/brie/endive cups, fantastic kale salad, sriracha & honey fried chicken paired with cilantro rice, and beef brisket with beer mac'n cheese, and a few stuffed avocados for my vegan/veggie family members. Chris was great to work with, and easily made the accommodations I requested for my veggie family members. We live in California, and we chose Urban Cowboy without trying it, because the reviews were so good. We were able to visit in March and try the food and we were blown away! Nothing but a 5 star review and total satisfaction!! Chris was so kind and patient during my 12+ month wedding planning process. Not only is Chris extremely professional, but he is absolutely accommodating and creative as well. Chris catered my rehearsal dinner at Memory Lane Event Center in Dripping Springs (with his food truck) and I was able to have some items on there that he didn't have on his original menu. He also catered my wedding of 160 people and our guests raved about the food. If you want great service and awesome food, please book Chris! We used Urban Cowboy for our wedding catering a couple of weeks back. Decided to go with a food truck to cater for us to keep it Austin style and it worked out beautifully. Our guests loved it. Chris's communication and preparation leading up the event was great, which meant we felt very confident everything would go smoothly which it did. The sriracha fried chicken was to die for and the chimichurri potatoes and cauliflower gratin accompaniments we chose were also delicious. Being a Brit I selected the sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was a big hit. They also provided a bar tender for us for the night and can tailor to your individual needs. Plenty of options to choose from. If you're thinking of doing the same I highly recommend these guys. We did a lot of research in selecting Urban Cowboy. There are food truck tacos and then there are Urban Cowboys' tacos! OMG! Just polished off the short rib and it was beyond what you'd expect for a taco. This thing was stupid good. It was an ample amount of short rib meat perfectly season and tender. Topped with a delightful mix of fresh sliced plum, amazing sweet tangy sauce, and thin slices radish for a little crunch. I hired Chris and his team for a Grand Opening event and they were fantastic to work with! He was very clear about his availability and pricing and was flexible and easy-going on meeting our needs. When he arrived at our location, he was very prompt on getting ready and served up AMAZING food! I tried the fried avocado taco and I had never had anything like it! Elgin has a thing once a month called Sip, Shop, and Stroll where all of the stores stay open later and serve snacks and wine or beer. It's a great way to see some of the local stores that I may not have visited otherwise. This last time one of the stores had Chris and his truck outside so we decided to try a taco. Roomie ordered a chicken taco but requested a fried avocado on top. Brilliant! It was sooooo good. I loved the pickled veggies on top.While we sat there we starting chatting with Chris who was pleasant and funny (ask him about being on "Chopped"). Chris and his team recently catered our wedding in Georgetown, Texas. Throughout the planning process, Chris was great to work with. The food was lightyears above other caterers in our price range. We served a variety of appetizers (the ancho-rubbed short rib, Mexican fruit cups and praline bacon are to die for!) and fajitas. The service was friendly and great.So, why not 5 stars? I've gone back and forth since the wedding about whether or not to include this in my review, but...some aspects of the catering were not exactly what was in the contract/discussed. Some of the food wasn't the same quality as we tasted/agreed to (store-bought instead of homemade chips); the waiters didn't wear what I'd asked them to; the food dishes weren't the quality promised; the servers didn't help cut or serve the cake as we'd agreed; etc. These are all little things, but, added up, they take away that last star. Overall, I'd still work with Chris again on another event. I'd just be sure to double and triple check all of the details beforehand! More...

Chris and his staff did the most amazing job at my husband's and my wedding in Round Rock, TX. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic. We ended up having his staff assist in the setup of the reception venue (everything looked great),  a few worked as the bartenders, and they also prepared and served the food for our reception. we served brisket and salmon as or two entree choices and both were delicious but I think the hands down favorite was the brisket. Chris and his team really went above and beyond to make sure all of our guests were happy and well taken care of. Hiring Urban Cowboy as the caterer was honestly the easiest part of planning our wedding. One of the best parts of working with Chris is that he responds quickly to any and all questions and tries as hard as possible to make what you envision a reality.  Everything was top notch and I would definitely recommend booking them. I wish there were 6 stars to give Chris and team! I found Urban Cowboy when I hosted an important event and needed someone who really "got it" regarding the theme and reason for the party, could run with my limited information and short timeline, and who could put out an awesome event leaving me free to be with guests instead of in the kitchen. Chris and team totally delivered!Email communication was terrific, and I felt very comfortable throughout the entire process. Chris provided the cost upfront so that there weren't any last minute surprises. The team showed up on time, were all very kind, and worked efficiently to put out an amazing spread. The website has great suggestions, but don't feel limited to that - Chris will work with you to customize the food to your needs.And, one of the best parts is that they totally clean up before leaving! What a relief :-)  Ooh - one more really fun tidbit is that Chris has been a competitor on the Food Network's "Chopped".
