Nothing was too much trouble, she helped on the day with anything she could and everyone loved her especially the kids who followed her around. Claire was absolutely fantastic on our wedding day and I cannot stress how highly we recommend her. She went above and beyond including in the lead up to the wedding to meet up to learn more about us and the kind of day we wanted. We wanted documentary style photos with minimal 'posed' photos and the photos she captured were so beautiful. Genuine moments big and small and nothing forced or fake. She has a lovely warm character which puts you at ease, especially my husband who is nervous with a camera pointed at him! She really managed to capture the atmosphere of the day perfectly. Where do I start....Claire has given us the most amazing wedding photography and video we could ever imagine. Every one of our guests complimented her style. Finally after months of trying to organise a shoot with Claire the date arrived! With my youngest right in the middle of teething, sleepless night and full of snots + my 4 year old tired from starting school and not wanting to cooperate at all - I opened the door fully expecting Claire to take one look, turn around and drive back off! Instead we gave it a go and in no time Claire had my eldest smiling. Claire made us feel at ease and there was no pressure at all. When receiving the pics there was a huge sense of relief - they are just perfect! Some of which at the moment they were taken I was frustrated with, now resemble a memory that when I will look back at in 20 years time I can only wish to have back again. Thank you Claire! Claire- wow, where do I start. I met Claire a few years ago when she brought her gorgeous little boy Harry to our dancing babies class.
I started following her photography journey then. My sister had a mummy and me session which was just incredible and I knew then that she was my wedding photographer (before I was even engaged!!). No second choices- no back ups- didn’t look at anyone else- it was always Claire. I was thrilled when she was available for our date and she has been so so helpful, friendly and professional from the get go.
On our big day, Claire was like one of our nearest and dearest sharing our day as a guest would. She joined in the laughter, the dancing and all in between (minus the tequila- I think?!).
We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our BigDay photography package and our alternative wedding video. The sneak peak was a TOTAL tease!

I’m simply a storyteller at heart.

As, from my one little camera, with a twitch of a finger, I can capture everything from movement to moments. Through imagery and film. I'm 100% documentary (although I appreciate that a couple portrait or family portrait is nice to have, so I'll never say no). I'm like your pal with a poncey camera. Documentary, Day in the Life Sessions
Days pass in the blink of an eye. Years blur together. It’s so easy to forget the little things. Whilst portraits present beautiful photographs, these Unscripted experiences deliver the raw, yet fabulously beautiful truth of EveryDay life.
This is more than just a photoshoot. We’re creating a window into your life. Captured forever on film.
Life is about real moments. From laughing at Dad’s dancing to crying over spilt milk. Kids are cute and funny, sometimes embarrassing (not as much as Dad’s dancing though) and you want to capture all of these moments. And you (probably Mum) want to be in the frame too!
If you don’t like the idea of standing in a park or in a studio and stressing over your kids smiling at the camera. If you want to capture real, happy, fun photos of you and your family being simply themselves. If you want to relax, perhaps stay in your pyjamas all day, embrace the chaos, enjoy a cuppa and a chocolate biscuit whilst I just document your imperfectly perfect lives – then these are the sessions for you.
Your photos can be taken at your home, where you feel most comfortable, and where the kids can play and mess about. You could also choose a location that means something to you – perhaps the beach, an arcade, the ice-cream parlour or the middle of the moors. Although I’m based in Northumberland – I can travel anywhere!
The Unscripted Session includes:
Up to an entire day spent with you documenting every detail of this current chapter of your life story (typically around 350 final images and short film). You just keep to your daily routine. I come along for the ride. We’re not looking for Pinterest poses here, we’re looking for you comfortable, natural, in your own habitat.
The full set of artistically edited high resolution digital negatives in a USB presentation box.
A film portrait featuring some of your most magical moments from throughout the day.
A collection of 4×6 images from your session. Some printed as picture postcards with my thoughts and quotes beside the image. Reminders of the dearest moments, the unforgettable breaths, the littlest steps – to be scattered about your abode.
A mobile phone app with a selection of your images that you can share with friends and family
Wedding Documentary Photographer
There is nothing more epic than a love story.
And we’re about to tell yours.
I never set out to be a wedding photographer. If you met me in the pub and asked me what I do for a living, I would say that I’m a documentary photographer. I don’t really mind what the subject is, I just like to look, frame and capture. I want to capture the moment. The emotion. The reaction.
You see, I initially started Unscripted Photography to capture the beautiful lives of normal families going about their normal days. Somehow, some lovely couples stumbled across my work and saw something in it. And then the enquiries began. At first I was reluctant to put myself “out there” for weddings, but after I captured my first few, I loved that within every BigDay there were so many little stories, little moments. All dying to be preserved. So I was hooked!
I’m simply a storyteller at heart. And I’m so glad that you have found your way into my little Unscripted world and may consider me to tell yours.
My Style
Think of me as your mate with the poncey camera! I mingle, I get in close, sometimes step back, sometimes observe, often chat to guests, offer advice (like how to go to the loo in a big giant frock), dance with the flower girls – ultimately – I want the inside story on your wedding.
I’m not looking for the pinterest poses. I’m there to capture every moment. Not just the big ones. Although they’re super important too. I want my images to transport you back to that moment in time when your now-husband whispers something ever-so-cheeky into your ear and you throw your head back in sheer hysteria.
Weddings are full of these magical little moments. And it’s a huge honour to be able to capture them for you so they aren’t forgotten.
