Came here as a guest of my friends' work outing. The show was funny, felt original and lighthearted but also topical (especially to Seattle) at times. If you check in on yelp you can get a free popcorn from the concessions stand - this is located outside of the main theater area so be sure to get your snacks before the show starts. Without spoiling too much, there was some audience participation throughout the show. The audience stayed seated but got the opportunity have a bit of input and back and forth with the actors. I had the pleasure of doing a group improv class with my work team. This was SO fun, everyone smiling ear to ear the whole time. There’s a bar in the lobby which we hired them to bartend that night...always a little helpful when doing improv!Ron Hippe was our host and facilitator. He did an amazing job! Very welcoming, had a really well-dialed program for our group and even connected it all back to our worklife for relevance. What a complete blast! I saw the Christmas Carol last night with the original story changed up based on input from the audience. It was completely engrossing and hilarious. I will definitely come back to see other shows. Very inexpensive entertainment--I was happy to tip them generously after the show! Great time!! Small intimate theater, inexpensive tickets and back alley location all contribute to the feeling that you are having a little adventure with your entertainment. We were thoroughly entertained as well! The improvisational angle keeps me uniquely engaged and the audience participation is always fun! Hilarious! Great space. Popcorn, booze, improv. They even had a keyboardist and did brilliant musical numbers. A performer came and talked to my younger brother and I in our seats before the show, which made the whole experience even more intimate and funny. Can’t wait to go back!

I was visiting the area in November and a friend (local) wanted to bring me here. It was the evening of their- "Red & Black event". This event was a sort of " yearly banquet type thing". They had food, and drinks, an auction, awards, a sort of interview, as well as performances from different groups. Tickets said it was from 7:00-8:30 we arrived @6:45 and they told us to come back at 7pm. So we went across the street to " the alibi" and had a couple drinks while we waited.When arriving back at the theater- it was lots of waiting around before the "show started". Then once it started we kind of realized this wasn't what we were expecting. It felt like we were at a party we weren't invited too. We left after 2.5 hrs bc it was just not what we were expecting- a very long ceremony at this point we felt we had put our time in if you will.MY RATING- I am giving it a 4- stars only bc of the kids- the theater from my understanding works with a lot of kids and the 6-10 kids we saw preform were outstanding. I can't fairly rate on anything else because it seemed like a special occasion night. I don't know what my friend paid- I did not see the ticket pricing. But I am not sure it was well explained as to what the night entailed- watching and hearing the crowd I know almost everyone was really having a great time. But i just felt that when we walked in they could of maybe explained the details of what the night held. I would like to think any other night when it was a regular show it would be your straight forward improv performance. Based on performances only it could potentially be a good time. What fun we had sharing the performances of these 6 gifted improv artists. 12 retirement mavens weathered the gum wall access path but settled in to enjoy a full hour of laughter. We will return. We've been here a few times for date night and usually love it!! "Theatresports" is a great show to attend on a Friday night. Most of the time it's a hit, but if it's a miss, it isn't a total loss. They have 7pm and a 10:30pm shows, to fit anyone's schedule!Get here a few minutes early to find parking and grab a drink before. There is a bar here, but we prefer to go to the late show so we can visit Zig Zag down the market before :)Definitely make plans to come by an improv show here to shake things up for your date night. I saw the show last night (June 1, 2019) with my kids ages 7, 10 and 11 -- this is a GREAT show that is catered to families, if that's who attends, because they take audience suggestions! The players rotate, and last night Kathleen, Chaz, Luke, Chris, Tiffany and Jessica were all on fire! My kids absolutely love the performers and the shows, the actors are just so clever and FUNNY! Every show is different, even the cast, so this is an awesome way to spend the evening when you have kids or even if you are on a date. You will want to come back for more, and if you're a tourist, this show will be a highlight. It's a bargain and just right for kids at only $10/ticket and $5 for a popcorn-soda-candy combo. I highly recommend this show any day they play, the 7pm shows are family friendly, the 10:30pm are more competitive, more adult themed of course! All of the actors are so friendly and talented!!
