Uncut is truly a hidden gem in this industry. I really would like to recommend Uncut for many reasons, most important one being how they treat you and your career. Jacques is the owner and he is an amazing guy who really cares about his clients.  I decided to give them a try based on the very positive reviews and I have to say -- I am SO GLAD I made the decision to finally just sign up. Going into their Culver City office to sign up was super easy. Everyone that works here is super nice, genuine, and always helps you out with any questions you might have. I love that I can update my own pictures, since my look varies every month or so -- even slightly -- I like to keep my pics as current as possible. The website is super easy to use to do just that and more..Seriously, the best $150 (one time entrance fee), I have ever spent when I signed up. They also don't charge monthly fees, which is pretty sweet. I know sometimes it seems weird to have to pay a fee, but it's is totally worth it if you are serious about making money doing background work. After a few days of signing up, I got booked and ever since then,  they have booked me on gigs I know I couldn't have booked on my own.  Of all the extras casting companies I've tried, this one seems to be pretty amazing.  Wish I had discovered them sooner!!An excellent resource and absolutely exceeded my expectations in every way.  If you are thinking of signing up, I truly do urge you to do so!!Thank you, Uncut!! Uncut's sign up process was easy and there's no monthly membership fee. After the signup, you only pay when you work. Last week when things were slow for everyone I know, Uncut booked me on a tv show, a short film, and on a big name higher-rate project as well. You get what you pay for and you work based on your availability. I have been with Uncut for about 4 months and they are fair. ..if you're available then they'll book you. Zero complaints from me. As my availability calendar goes up so do the number of gigs worked for them. There's not much so say about them. I've been with Uncut for about half a year so I'm speaking from a short experience so far, but nonetheless, great service they provide. You will be booked based on your availability and the more you're available the more gigs you will book. Often times people misread instructions or don't read rules very well and it creates confusion for both the company and the person (you). I make sure I read everything given to me by uncut and by the production company and everything has rolled smoothly so far. No issues. Like I previously said, when I'm available I'm booked. If I'm not available I'm not booked. I'm not sure why people have a hard time understanding that or they lack communication or reading skills. But enough about that, I am very happy with them. Great work from the whole uncut casting team! They have booked me pretty consistently based on availability. I always wondered what it would be like to work on a major motion picture. I discovered UNCUT online and figured... why not? ... and went there not knowing what to expect. I was treated professionally and very honestly by very friendly and helpful folks. No pressure, no hype. After turning down the first two shoots, we spoke by phone - they patiently answered all my questions - and I began getting solid jobs... GREY'S ANATOMY and a major motion picture with A-LIST talent, as well as a popular internet series. What I learned - from others who all seemed to use some type of casting service - was that UNCUT is a DEAL! Everyone else I spoke with was being changed about $80 - per MONTH! UNCUT charges one-time fee - for the same services - with a small per-job service charge - which makes me feel like their service is, without question, the best choice I could have made. The work itself isn't for everyone - long hours and lots of waiting - but if you're curious about the process of making movies or you're looking for an interesting way to supplement you income, UNCUT will take very good care of you. When I first registered with Uncut, I was 50 years old, bald, fat and the owner of a ten-year-old car that needed frequent repairs.   Yet Jacques explained patiently to me that I still can get work as a background extra.   Turns out he was right.The only reason the work eventually dried up for me is that the condition of my car got worse.   As everyone should know, your booking agency has nothing to do with the fact that every single background extra, whether union or non-union, must arrange on short notice (less than fifteen hours) transportation to any location in Southern California.   You can "Uber it," so to speak, if you are willing to subtract the Uber money from the approximately 70 dollars you earn for a day's work.  I'm not.   Granted, the Metrorail Red Line takes you to downtown Los Angeles, but carrying your wardrobe on hangers during the train ride can hurt your arms when you reach a certain age.   So without a vehicle, I'm on the shelf temporarily.   This has nothing to do with Jacques.But I honestly feel confident that if my transportation situation ever improves, Jacques will get me work again.   While I do less desirable retail work to save up money for a vehicle, I have another source of pride. I can visit an AMC multiplex with sixteen screens, located a short public transit ride away from my home, and watch the new movie The Happytime Murders.   I am clearly visible in scenes that were filmed on the beach or near the beach in Santa Monica.   I could not possibly have found that background extra job without Uncut.   This is because I moved to California at age 38 without knowing anyone here, my looks are unconventional and my internet access has been mediocre for many years.Not until I was 50 did I discover Uncut.   During the twelve years I was in California without knowing about Jacques or Uncut, I appeared in many television shows but never a movie that played at the AMC Theatres chain.  I suppose I could buy the DVD of The West Wing season 5 or whatever it is in which the "younger me" is visible, but I would have to do research to nail down the title and airdate of the episode.   The Happytime Murders requires very little research prior to viewing.  My experience working on it dates from barely a year ago, when I was 52, so it will remain current and easy on the synapses for a chunk of my future.Finally, I love Jacques' policy that you don't pay a penny until you get a job.  If your jobs ever dry up because of baldness and lack of funds for fake hair, at least you don't owe Jacques a penny.   Other background extra bookers take your money even if the jobs dry up.   You stop paying them and they never want to see your name or photo again.   But Jacques treats you fairly.   He is one of the few behind-the-scenes people in show business who echoes what Laverne says on an episode of Laverne and Shirley :  "You go to work, you get paid.   You don't go to work, you don't get paid.   That's the American dream."   People who are old enough to have understood that dialogue in 1976 or 1977 are not likely to work full-time as actors unless they already have started to do so, but they still can earn 70 dollars here and there for a fun day doing something they enjoy.  Thank you, Jacques.P. S. --  My two days on The Happytime Murders were fun.   The job allowed me to socialize on the Santa Monica beach.   I would be a fool to go into detail about the sand that accumulated in my shoes.   The more wimpy a person you are, the less motivation you should have for trying to launch a career as a full-time background extra actor.  If you can find a lot of motivation, then stick with Uncut.   I have not visited a California beach on any other occasion since I moved here in 2003, and getting 150 dollars to do so was an experience I always will remember -- with a little help from the AMC Theatres chain. I first starting with Uncut with very limited availability (college took up more time than expected) and did not get book due to this issue for the first 3 months. I emailed management which led to Jacques, the owner, to respond back and he was very professional, explained that he could give me a refund, but also mentioned the opportunities I'd have if I stayed with him. I am very happy that I did. I've gotten 4 different jobs since then where one was also on Union voucher. Jacques and the staff at Uncut are a very professional team and seem to genuinely care about their talent. They also have very organized website which is easy to navigate through. I've been with Uncut for more than two years and I have to say this was one of my best discoveries and smartest moves I've made. They work really hard to provide opportunities for working actors - union and nonunion. I am currently non-union and received my first union voucher with them. I have had steady work with them even on slow seasons. Of course they encourage you to sign up with Central Casting and Jeff Olan but for a beginner's mark they are a pretty good one. The first job will pay for your initial fees and they only take a small percentage from every job - NO MONTHLY FEES like other agencies. I highly recommend them! More...

Uncut Casting Sevices is a legitimate casting service. I signed up with them and it was fast and easy. They took a few photos of me and a few days later I was booked.
