I recently enquired about a used Autosleeper, asking a Mr Jeavons several questions about the towing capacity of the motorhome.
Yes they assured me it would tow. On that basis I informed my buyer he could purchase our caravan, an agreement I honoured.
I rang back to place my deposit and asked a few more questions about the tow badges, it turns out that the Auto sleeper would not tow.
After several emails between my self and MrJeavons he apologised for their error. I explained I had now sold my caravan, which Mr Jeavons said that was your choice, you could have told your buyer ( my customer ) the truth, cancelled the sale and blamed Tyne valley as they misinformed me.
I don’t think MrJeavons quite grasped the meaning of honouring a gentleman’s agreement, and the fact my customer had already made his own arrangements. They had also advertised a sat nav on the autosleeper, which turned out to be wrong as they had not updated the ad from a previous sale.
Mr Js take on the matter was quite disappointing.
I would however thank him as he did advise me about possible issues dealing with warranty claims if buying a motorhome further afield.
The young lad, Callum was very helpful with his advice, but as for the rest of the salesman....ching ching.
In contrast Leisure World have no problem with me taking my new motorhome to them for any warranty issues, even though it was not bought from them.

Avoid at all costs
Me and my wife made what for us was a massive decision and expense on ourselves of which we will probably never get the chance again so put our trust in Tyne valley for what we thought was an honest vehicle.
So they couldn’t of had an easier sale as it was exactly what we wanted and with it being a fair distance from our home did the deal over the phone (my mistake)
So a 3 year old Motorhome with 9000 miles and at £38k you would think everything would be good but being in the motortrade myself I specifically asked the salesman if it has had any bodywork repairs or need any? he said “no it’s all hpi clear”,I said I didn’t ask that it could of been repaired not through insurance to which he said “no it hasn’t and I’ve been round it myself and is great maybe just a couple of stone chips as you would expect”.
So we picked it up and after having to have a cup satin removed after it supposedly just been valeted went on holiday literally 2 days later only so sit down for a beer after the drive down to south coast and see masking tape dangling down off the front bumper with overspray on it!!!
This then got me looking more carefully to find that there was over spray over the same corner wing,a repair the the back body next to the awning,another repair/respray to the side under the side window,a gel sticker of there’s covering up a ding near the side door and a dint on the rear of the roof that obviously had been pushed back out and still stood out!
Although I beat myself up for not going to view it in the first place,we put the questions and our trust in the hands of the salesman who blatantly lied or acted dumb I don’t know which,I can’t remember his name sorry but short one with stubbly beard.
Feel absolutely conned sorry to say, hope it doesn’t happen to others

Called in in the hope of getting a fresh water external waste pipe, (mine was holed therefore leaking). One of the service managers took the old on away and after a coffee and a chat to other customers he returned with a new pipe. Not only was the coffee free the pipe was too. My wife and I highly recommended Tyne Valley Motorhomes (TVMH) because:-They have evidenced a belief in building a long term, personal relationship (good for motorhome long term investment). Evidenced flexibility. Don't just follow systems to suit them.You can meet the aftercare staff. The technicians acknowledge you. You can talk to the person working on your motorhome. You get to know names.The aftercare teams (service and admin) are knowledgeable, helpful and willing. Sometimes they get it wrong, just as we do. With tolerance and manners on both parts we laugh in the end.They can draw on extensive experience across a number of manufacturers.Shown good warranty experience to us. Dealing with manufactures isn't easy.The business started with Derek & Elaine Armstrong building and selling motorhomes from their driveway. Jonathan, the son is now the active principle. A very approachable person. These family is still very much in daily evidence. They know the motorhome business from the hands on ground up. Not like some we have found with vested self interests first.Events don't always go according to plan, either ours or theirs; however we have always found with a willingness to listen, consider and respect from each others experience we have found solutions and believe we have a good long term relationship.Good people – good service. Bought my motorhome last year from these guys and had a great experience. I have dealt with the service department via the telephone but never had to use them until this week. The motorhome was booked in for some warranty work as well as a service. I just want to say how professional the team were. Best company I’ve ever done business with, all enquiries are felt with smoothly and quickly. FIRST CLASS AFTERSALES SERVICEMy caravan required servicing and I was directed to Tyne Valley Motorhomes by a friend in the caravan club. I had heard good things about them so I thought to give them a try.The booking process was flawless, i was unable to speak to them straight away so I left number. Within ten minutes my call was returned and the booking made with price and availibility.On arriving I was made to feel valued and the caravan was checked over and taken to workshop. Waited a year before posting this review. Sales staff good, handover good. 2 warranty issues dealt with promptly and with no fuss. Took out a service contract, could have been a risky move not having used this dealer before. Just been for habitation Chech and vehicle service. No issues, no dramas. We are just taking delivery of our second motorhome from Tyne Valley and have found the whole experience very easy and most helpful. We visited to view and ask advice on how to use a motorhome as we had no experience whatsoever. The saleman who helped us was Simon and he spent time and effort to explain everything we asked. Simon manner was most helpful even though we he did not know if we were serious buyers or just looking.Once we thought a van may be suitable, but wondered if it would fit on the drive, Simon brought it around to the house so we were fully satisfied.We had extras fitted and a couple of faults rectified by the service department and again our experience was first class, telephoning when the van was ready and even keeping it for us until it was convenient to collect it.We went back to Simon when we thought we may need a better van and again Tyne Valley were very fair with our trade in value and fitted all our extras from the old van onto the new one.Overall a very easy experience and very good people to do business with. :) More...
