Best curly cut and service I've ever had. Lindsay was knowledgeable and very skilled at her job. She listened to my wants though, she was honest about a couple things that wouldn't be flattering to me and explained why. I love the cut, so much! When I asked for a few changes she was happy to do it, and just wanted me happy at the end of the day with my hair. She was really warm and welcoming as well. I will totally be going back for now on. My heart is so full from this place!Aubrey did my hair; I got a curl bounce back which included a wash, deep condition and curl definition. My hair has NEVER felt as smooth, soft, and defined, ever. I am 22 years old and this was my first time ever going to a salon without leaving said salon with my hair straightened. All my life I have straightened and straightened my curls, and heat damaged the heck out of my curl patterns. I even grew up going to black-owned salons and beauticians and learned nothing about how to care for my type of hair/curl (3B). This was my first time in a salon ever, and Tamara was very kind and patient with all my questions and concerns. She was also very respectful of me wanting to keep my hair long and didn't cut any more than was agreed. She explained everything she was doing and gave me written instructions as well. As other reviews have said, there was no pressure to buy any of the products. I even asked her if it would be good to continue to use the products that I already use since I like them, and she said yes. They do use their products on the written instructions given, and I did buy a couple for that reason because it seemed easier. But she was also very good about explaining why products did certain things, so I could have used that advice to buy something else if I'd wanted. Sooo pleased with my experience with TAMI at Twist Salon. To start Tami made me feel very welcomed in her sweet Salon. She really took her time to teach me how to Wash/ Condition/ and Style my hair. This was my first time meeting Tami and after she assessed my hair she knew exactly which products would work to moisturize and define my curls. Then on top of that she gave me a beautiful deva cut. Tamara at Twist Folsom exceeded my expectations!  I had never been to a salon that specializes in curly hair prior to Twist.  After previous dye jobs left my naturally curly hair with breakage and looking dull, it was time to try something new.  Not all hairs are alike so Twist specializes in using a developer that fits your hair texture - my hair is fine and curly.  Tamara went over all of the steps, special (natural!) products and techniques that help to maximize not only my curls, but makes my hair look healthy.  Not only is Tamra knowledgeable, she is very pleasant.  I will absolutely return and highly recommend! Omg! The reviews here are 100% correct! This place is amazing. Twist Salon is really a curly hair person's dream. Today my stylist was Tamara and she was wonderful. Went to Twist for the first time today after my longtime curly expert closed up shop. I was thrilled to find Aubrey and her curly hair oasis! The walls were lined with devacurl and inner sense products so I knew I was in good hands. The salon was clean and beautiful. Parking was easy in the free parking lot in old Folsom. I was so stressed out because my 7 year old has super curls with multiple textures, and I can never find anyone or any place that really knows how to handle her hair, and none for under $150. ..just for a hair trim! After a lot of searching, the owner of Curls Curls Curls (who was overbooked for several months out) advised me to try Twist in Folsom. That's where we met the fabulous Aubrey Cambra. She took a lot of time with my daughter, explaining everything she was doing...she washed, moisturized, deep conditioned, and-by hand-separated every single curl strand. She then dried, diffused and cut my daughter's hair, finishing with some healthy product and styling. She then showed me and explained to me how best to handle her hair and what products to use or avoid or don't really need (which saved me $50). Then she only charged me for the wash and cut, giving me 20% off the product I bought AND the service. The overall bill was under $60 (including $25 worth of product). They only use natural stuff too, so it's nice. I've been loving the product even in my own hair. I've found our forever stylist!! More...

I will absolutely be a customer here forever! The atmosphere is pleasant and everyone is really nice. The place smells good too! My cut experience was the best i’ve ever had. Anyea is extremely knowledgeable about curly hair and good practices to keeping it healthy. She listened to my concerns and current hair problems and she tailored my cut to the length i wanted while still getting all the problematic split ends out. She was also really easy to talk to and she was genuinely interested in my current hair routine and products. The products she used on me felt and smelled really nice and they were 100% organic, which for me is a huge plus. Receiving a haircut at Twist, from Anyea, was a beauty experience of a lifetime. The drycut method is amazing, and I didnt have to wait to get home, wash and style my hair myself to know what type of haircut I received ( which is what curly girls usually have to do). I avoided a haircut for a full year until I found Twist. At first I left a message to book an appointment. Anyea called me back and worked with me to get me in before a big event I had coming up. When I first saw this place, I must admit that I was a little annoyed of the limited schedule as they're only open Tuesday to Saturday so it's definitely best to make an appointment. Scheduling my appt was super easy as I messaged them via Yelp and set up the appt within 3 messages (would've been 2 but I asked a silly question). Well let me talk about the actual experience. This is definitely not your typical supercuts haircut experience. When you walk in, you're greeted and immediately directed to your seat. You are offered coffee, tea, or cold drink. Tamara took her time washing and conditioning my hair, cutting it before and after the wash to ensure perfect length curls (unlike places that wet your hair straight and once it curls up, you look like a loofah with a face). They use top quality products like innersence (which I couldn't resist and purchased 3 of) and they offer their first time customers a discount on both service and products (promotions subject to change). They teach you how to use the products effectively and answer any questions you might have with thorough explanations. Tamara provided top quality service and I can't wait to see her in 6 months for my next cut. BTW, she informed me that the salon has a "mini twist" haircut option for those looking for a quick trim without the wash and final cut so this is a good option to do between haircuts. This salon is a curly girls dream. Not only is it in the most adorable area in Folsom with all the fixings Tina wonderful day, the salon itself is beautiful, clean and a sanctuary for curly girls (it auto corrected to fries which made me laugh. Curly fries) like me. I saw Aubrey who's brilliant but got to chat with some of the other stylists and I'd confidently put my curls in any of their well trained hands. What I love is it's not just a cut and color, it's an education. You're encouraged to ask questions, talk about your frustrations with your curls and they'll help you find solutions. My frustration... bed head and my complete inability to make my curls look good on day two. Aubrey walked me through a couple products that could help and showed me how I can make the most out of my curls day two and onward. But even if you don't have curly hair I'd recommend this place.
