Friendly and helpful staff, good location for looking round the village and base for hiking. Very good meals in the restaurant and great selection of beers in the bar which was often quite full when we were there .Overall would definitely recommend.

Four of us went to eat here and the food far exceeded what we thought it might be like. It was certainly much better than your standard pub grub. ||||We also experienced some fantastic craft ales but do be careful as some of them come with an extravagant price tag. The chap behind the bar was very knowledgable about the ales and did steer us away from the can which was £11+.||||My 440ml Amundsen Lemon Milkshake IPA was lovely but it was £10.70. I bought the can home because of its lovely design and will convert it into a pen holder for my desk as a reminder of the beer and how much I spent on 1 can eek! ||||Would definitely recommend eating and drinking there. We’ve stayed in the mews a few times this year and most likely will do next year, ideal accommodation with two children, warm and cosy with a great outdoor space. The OH booked this hotel as part of my birthday present the only stipulation was that it had to be in The Lakes. He found a deal through Secret Escapes which included tea and cake on arrival in the cosy lounge, gin and tonic in the room, three courses, bed and breakfast. ||||I think they are refurbishing the rooms and we had one of the recently done ones and it was very tastefully done!||||Staff were attentive, food was delightful and the location is great right in the heart of Grasmere with the cute shops and we walked around the lake which was beautiful. 2 couples stayed here for 2 nights as we had an event on the Sunday. We arrived late afternoon on the Saturday and had a nice and easy check in. 2 double rooms - one with bath and one with shower. Nice rooms that had all that u need - bed, wardrobe, toilet and tea/coffee making facilities. In our room the window didn’t open and it was very warm. Also the room had shutters but they didn’t really keep the light out plus we had a spot light opposite that when the branches moved in front of it made the light flash which was rather annoying. Bed small (double?) but comfortable enough. Breakfast was yummy. |We also popped into Tweedies bar Sunday evening and it was a nice cozy pub. Fairly busy due to our event but had a nice buzz. ||Lovely base for a flying visit to The Lakes. Would love to come back and spend more time here! More...

Many years ago I never used to like Tweedies but over the years it has grown on me. A lot of different beers so it was difficult to choose which one I wanted to drink. That's a good thing it means you are not drinking the same old drinks all the time. That has to be really quite boring, the only complaint I have is the price £4 odd for a drink. More...

We recently stayed here for my husband’s birthday and were very impressed. The location is perfect, right in the centre and the room was spacious, bright and clean and the bathroom equally so. The lounge area was cosy and comfortable with drinks service, a perfect place for a nightcap. You cant dismiss lamb in the lake district and this chop was perfect! My husband's burger was also A+. Beer selection without list left us unsure and after sampling a couple (we prefer strong, hoppy IPAs) we had a bottle of red.

Perfect location for exploring the Lakes - it was a comfortable home from home, with high quality food and lovely helpful staff, who also came to the rescue when we realised we'd forgotten a phone charger. My partner and I had a fabulous stay in the Mews accommodation. The staff were so friendly and helpful, particularly a new member of staff who had only been working there for a couple of days. We were made to feel really welcome and will definitely return. The accommodation was really clean and modern, facilities were excellent and if we had brought swimwear we would have made use of the hot tub on the courtyard outside of our room, perfect for relaxing after a 6 hour walk! We ate in the hotel restaurant one night and the meal was lovely, good quality food and good portion size. Breakfast was fab too, great selection of cereal, fruit, juice etc and a great cooked breakfast too. Wonderful weekend and I would definitely recommend staying here. More...
