What do you love most about your job?
I love providing personalised tuition for the student's needs and reading positive feedback about progress. I enjoy talking with the customer to find out what they are looking for and sharing any knowledge I have to point them in the right direction, regarding resources, games and techniques.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was a full -time teacher who had a family and needed some flexibility in my work whilst still wanting to educate. I became a tutor with Tutor Bureau as I feel being a tutor allows me to use my first-hand knowledge of the job of teaching and provide appropriate supportive education to my students.
Why should our clients choose you?
Tutor Bureau is long established(1980) although I took it on from a previous owner fourteen years ago. It relies on a good reputation. Being an independent service, and not a franchise, I am flexible to meet customers' requests and offer competitive rates. Specialising in tuition in the North East of England, I have contact with several schools and first-hand knowledge of their syllabus and examination timetables. I am a qualified teacher with classroom experience and a DBS check. I respond quickly and listen to customers.

Online tuition at a reduced rate is available using the platform of your choice. This is individual tuition with a qualified teacher.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Many students previously having in home tuition have switched to tuition to online. Although I had a safety checklist (this includes details such as ventilation, seating arrangements, leaving interior doors open and hand and surface hygiene) online tuition is often preferred.
