I attended a seminar led by Ryan Walker and Ben Whitehair at SAG-AFTRA headquarters with my son (an 11 year old actor who is a union member). Their social media presentation which focused on Instagram usage, was engaging, informative, easy to follow and extremely relevant towards growing my son’s IG account organically. It was a well organized presentation using laymen’s terms so both myself and my son were able to easily follow along and pick up some great social media tips to grow his social media account the right way. I went to the TSMA workshop primarily because I had heard of Instagram, but had no idea how it worked or its benefits. As an actress I know it is important to be on social media, but I am not crazy about social networking (was glad to hear Ryan felt that way too! ) and am definitely not good at it. This workshop showed me how to utilize Instagram step by step, highlighting the most important things to do to get started. I got a better understanding of how this social medium works and its value. Ben Whitehair and Ryan Walker gave me a clear understanding of what I now need to do. Getting this information got me excited at what can be accomplished through Instagram. Not tech savvy (it took me a year to get my website done!), but this seems simple enough. I just need to figure out my ‘brands” to get going. So happy they also emailed us about hashtags--something I admit to complete ignorance! It was an amazing experience with Ben and Ryan. They really know how to break it down and unravel the ever growing exponential field of social media and marketing yourself and or company. Their team is also amazing being able to answer and guide you. There's a lot of information out there and depending where you are at they know how to get to where you want to be. I attended their intermediate seminar and was blown away by the amount of information and their passion to help people.
