A wonderful night out! The ingénue who opened the show in song started things off excellently with a tight musical ensemble! The gorgeous venue was somewhat hard to find considering it’s in the heart of the theater district. I guess that’s why they call it the Secret Theater. The food was solid. Our bottles of wine were reasonably priced. In the end, my group of five was very happy with our decision to spend a night out together at Truffles! Would recommend for people looking to have a fun night out with friends or a light-hearted/change of pace night out with that special someone. More...

Came here with some friends for my 30th birthday. The show was very entertaining but it was not what I expected. I thought it was one of Those shows where the audience solves the mystery. So it's not your typical murder mystery dinners. It was more of the audience watching the actors solve the mystery out loud. To that point, I think the acting was great and the cast did a great job involving the audience on minke cues here and there. Oh and the food was delicious!I would definitely recommend this show as it was entertaining and I remember laughing pretty much the whole time! More...

Great great great show! First off i found parking right across the street on a busy saturday night! It only cost me $11. 50 versus the $35 for a close by lot. As we walked in, you have a mandatory $2 coat check that you pay for at the end of the night. I had to go to the bathroom, so as i was going, the bathroom was extremely small. My knees practically touched my face trying to use it. Anyway, we were escorted to our table which was in the front. They gave us a truffle appetizer. Im not sure what the contents where but since ima not a fan of truffles, i didnt eat much but the bread and cream cheese. The dinner show started and it was very interactive. The food came out really fast too. Surprisingly, the food was decent. I was afraid for it to be horrible but it wasn't, it just needed some salt. I loved that the entertainment was interactive and involved the crowed, which made it fun. For dessert we got chocolate pudding with a chocolate stick and gold dust flakes. All in all, i would love to come here again if they have a different show. Tickets are around 90-100 per person, the more u buy the more you save. A bit expensive but its NY and it was worth it. Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends. The actors did a great job of assuming their roles and really tried to interact with the audience whenever possible. Don't expect a murder mystery where audience members solve the case - the cast members will solve the mystery aloud in their own creative way. Overall, great performance and seamless transitions between characters. We were upgraded to "VIP" which included an app and dessert along w/ champagne and a goody bag (a bag of chips and a jar of chocolate candies). The menu seemed mediocre at best with only one vegetarian option so our group decided to have dinner elsewhere. Overall, definitely an interesting experience and would recommend for as a one-time thing. To get the most out of it, go with an open attitude and ready to have a whimsical time. More...

I came here to start off my 21st birthday with my boyfriend. It was such a wonderful experience. The actors were always in character and always on point. I couldn't recommend it enough. They really try their hardest to include the audience. They even have a photographer to take pictures of everyone and send you a link to an album of them! The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the ending to the play was predictable and the food was far from filling. We had to go have a full course meal after it nearby. But the food tasted great, experience was amazing, actors were friendly and waiters were accommodating. It was a SUPER FUN TIME. BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW. More...

This was a fun experience in a town known for its food and its theater. The venue is a small room off a bar area, dark and cozy, with a very small stage at the front of the room. A 3 piece jazz band plays music as you arrive and take your seat. The show begins as soon as you arrive, with characters welcoming you and introducing themselves and the premise of the show. The storyline is lively yet predictable. The chef and the waiter are the most comical and engaging characters in the show. The singing is entertaining and decent, but not write-home worthy. This is definitely not Broadway, but it's fun and entertaining. The food was okay; I had steak and it was not the best. The whole premise is centered around Truffles and you are supposed to get a sampling of truffles, however we did not see any at our table or those around us. Perhaps they were... stolen? All in all, I really enjoyed the show, loved the actors, and the band, but I am not sure it was up to the level I was expecting for NYC being as known for theater as it is. Definitely worth the money and the experience though! More...

What an unexpected pleasure for me and my mom last Friday. The show was so great and the food was top notch! Our salmon was cooked to perfection and the dessert to die for. What made the experience even better than a Broadway show, however, was the amount of interaction the actors had with the audience, keeping us, the audience, engaged the entire time! The exhaustive theatrics and the sprinting throughout the audience were just two skills that the actors mastered marvelously. Such a fun (and delicious) night! I can't wait to go back. More...

The characters are also interacting with guests during this pre-show period. My boyfriend and I came here as an alternative to a broadway show, which was way out of our budget. We still wanted a NYC show experience and we certainly got one! The venue was really wonderful and beautifully decorated. We arrived right on time as they began a jazz pre-show, which was awesome on its own. We were able to order drinks at this time (which weren't too pricy) and had a fixed menu that offered steak, chicken, fish, or pasta. I will admit going into it that I thought the show was about chocolate truffles, but quickly realized that was not the case. Therefore I also discovered that night that I truly dislike truffles, but that's a personal preference. That being said - I was not a fan of the food, which had essence of truffles in it. I'll admit I did grab a slice of pizza afterward. But, overall I really enjoyed the show experience. The actors were wonderful. They stopped by our table before the show to give us fake money so that we could participate in the truffle auction. I love that they involved the audience, and it wasn't over the top where it was uncomfortable. Our show was 5-7pm so we still had the rest of the night to go out. It was a perfect night - would definitely recommend to others. More...

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Truffles Mystery! It's the perfect date night, whether you live in NYC or are visiting from out-of-town. They encourage formal attire so we had an excuse to get all dolled up and hit the town. Before the show started, we sat at our table enjoying the live jazz and ambience. The venue is the perfect setting for the experience. The show is highly interactive, and the actors set the scene by walking around mingling with the guests (one of the actors, who plays a waiter, was so convincing that my husband tried to order a drink from him!) The show itself is highly energetic, entertaining, and over-the-top hilarious. The actors have excellent comedic timing, the singing was on point, and the jazz ensemble was superb. I also really enjoyed the writing, both the music and the dialogue. Finally the pace of the show works well to keep the audience engaged while enjoying a hearty dinner. The show is set in a wonderful location on Restaurant Row in Times Square in one of the longest-running restaurants (Swing46) on that street: the place is shiny and swanky and the elegantly classy blond in the ball gown that greeted us at the event certainly fit in with the decor.  I've eaten here several times before and I must say they have not lowered their standards because this was the best and most memorable meal I've eaten here and it was truffle based.  I have to take a sentence or two here to compliment our waitress. She was cheery, friendly, efficient and helpful.  It's nice to experience someone who really enjoys their job.  There is a band on the intimate stage that certainly lends to the ambiance.  They're quite proficient at their respective instruments, elegantly well-dressed and cooly charismatic without drawing attention to themselves and away from the actors.  Finally, the acting was madcap and engrossing.  It's nice to see them fully-invested in their roles.  I rarely laugh out loud, but I did here often.  I did not see much of the comedic interplay coming which is a testament to how well the show was written.  Considering the quality of the food, the ambiance, the musicians and actors that have to be paid, I'd consider this one of the best bargains in New York!  (Did I mention the highly rated Trapiche Oak Cask Malbec red wine from Mendoza, Argentina was a bargain at $48 a bottle).  If you want to make it memorable, this might just be the best date night in NYC.  Thoroughly engaging and you'll leave Swing46 talking about it!
