What a hidden gem! I first contacted this salon because I had been given a HORRENDOUS haircut by another salon. When I reached out, Ellie, the owner set an appointment for me right away in order to help me not look a mess for Thanksgiving. Beforehand, she let me know that although I was always use to having long hair, there was going to be quite a bit of hair she would have to cut in order to fix the damage. The fact that she was honest, was already a plus. I was scheduled with Ethian and he did not disappoint. My hair not only was saved from having to go super short, but Ethian used products that left my hair looking healthier than ever! Ethian was on time, he listened to my story and explained the entire process as he went. He made some future recommendations for my hair, but was not pushy at all. A woman being a woman, I found myself having a STRONG urge to cut all my hair off. My hair is thick, dark & grows like grass- I had to get rid of it! Through yelp I came across True Hair Miami. What first caught my eye was the 5 star reviews, second the location is right in Midtown; a 10 minute commute for me, which is perfect. The salon itself is in a suite, the inside is clean and the music is relaxing. They even offer beverages .The prices I would say are slightly above average but who complains when they've gotten a thorough and perfect haircut from someone with over 35 years experience . I can't begin to tell you how glad I am to have found Ellie! I recently moved to Miami and got a very unfortunate experience with color in another salon, so I was afraid to even try a new place. I found TrueHair Miami here at Yelp and felt confident enough with the reviews to book an appointment. I'm can't tell you how thrilled I am with the results. Ellie has very hands. Every time I come to Sheyla she's always welcoming with such a great energy you can feel in your head while she's coloring or blow dry the hair. After a long search process for a truly great salon and stylist to do a dramatic new cut I settled on True Hair and I am so happy I found them! The owner was super fast to respond on Yelp and booked my appointment right away. When I arrived the inside was super cute, clean and the ambiance was very friendly and upbeat. The true gem of this whole place is Ethian - just WOW. I was super nervous about cutting my long hair into a bob (ladies-you know its kind of terrifying!) and he made me feel completely comfortable and confident from the get go. He is so friendly and lovely, great to chat to and took the time to look through all my "wish" photos of the cut before he even touched my hair to really understand what I wanted. In terms of his skills he is the best stylist I've been to in Miami (tough to beat Christina @ The Salon but he did it!) he was so fastidious and even pushed back his following appointment so he could go over all the details and make sure the cut was just right: even after he did the initial cut he went over it again to give it some like layering so it would move naturally and not look too stiff. Beyond that the rest of the staff were so supportive (Alex in particular) while I was getting all this hair chopped off and the feeling in the salon was so friendly - not to mention they offer Prosecco and wine while you're there! Bottom line: I walked in very nervous and worried I was about to regret chopping all my hair off and walked out having fallen in *love* with this place (especially Ethian!) Great hair salon in Miami without the Miami prices to go along with it. The salon is chic and small so only a few people are there at a time. I got my hair done with Sheyla and i have no complaints. She's a quiet stylist but she definitely knows what she's doing. I told her what shade I had in mind and she knew exactly what to do . This is the second time I do my hair with her and every time she knows what hair color I'm thinking about. And, my hair feels somewhat healthier when she's done with it. My only complaint is that when I try to reach the salon to make an appointment, no one ever answers my call. I moved to a different state so I try to make appointments with her in advance so my hair sessions fits my schedule when I'm visiting Miami. Because no one answered the phone to set up an appointment, I had to skip two months without doing my hair till the next time I was in town. And when I finally had my appointment with her, there was no receptionist answering calls so she and another girl had to take turns answering calls and work in between clients. I couldn't get a full blow dry because there was no assistant to do it for her, and she had another client already waiting 20 minutes. I definitely did not get the attention I would've liked from her. Although I loved the finished work, my experience was not upscale. I hope management can get her an assistant or at the very least, a receptionist to answer calls. More...

I had a great experience here! They booked me via Yelp and had answered right away. The salon is clean and cute and welcoming. They do awesome extensions I got to witness as I got my hair done, which was like watching before and afters come to life. But while extensions seem to be a big draw for a lot of clients here, I had come in for a standard color and cut. And Sheyla did an awesome job. She was honest about my previously-box-dyed hair, did not laugh in my face directly when I showed her some photos that were way too light for my hair's current condition, and brought me back to reality with some babylights, base color, gloss, cut and a plan for the future if I wanted to realize my bright blonde dreams.I'm a true believer in you-get-what-you-pay-for so while the prices are not the cheapest, they are not over the top and it definitely feels worth it. 10 out of 10, will be back! When I came to Miami I was very interested in finding a great salon. I have to admit, I can be very picky with my hair, as girls can be. After finding the salon online and going to the salon, I was beyond thrilled with my outcome. Coincidentally, currently I live two blocks down from the salon. I went to Ellie with hair that had been damaged by color and harsh South Florida water. I only just started coloring my hair this year and it was already in a bad place. It was yellow/orange/brassy and dry. She was able to completely remove those colors and make it look SO much more natural (which is exactly what I wanted). The best part was, what she did ended up being even cheaper than what I had originally made my appointment for her (this included color + a reparative treatment). Ellie's energy just radiates throughout this salon. She is so passionate and happy over what she does and the people she services. I mean look at these 5 star reviews! I had a cut with Gilberto who listened to my EVERY word. I have long hair and am always so nervous of stylists that are waiting to chop it off. Gilberto kept it long while adding shape in the feitn.
