Q&As

For mobile DJs, it’s a bit trickier. The person/people who hired the DJ are usually the ones who tell you what they want to hear. It’s always best to discuss the music selection with your clients before the event. Find out their music preferences, favorite artists, must-play songs, and do-not-play songs, too! We like to have it all in writing, to refer to throughout the night. The one problem with doing this, however, is that the couple may tell you what they love, but their guests may have entirely different tastes in music. This can be problematic, since the couple may be happy, but then be unhappy when they realize their guests aren’t dancing. They may come up to you and say “hey, forget our list, just play what will get them dancing.” We’ve (Mobile Club DJs) had this happen numerous times.

So if no one is dancing, what songs should you play, to get people dancing? My solution: play the hits! Hit songs became hits, because everyone loved these songs, which made them “hits.” So make several playlists of different genres with the top hits for that genre, decade, or style. If you run out of ideas while at an event, simply open your lists up and voila, any of those songs are great to play! Check out some playlists from our online music library. Simply click the link, below, then click “online library.” Then select “popular lists.” You’ll see plenty of helpful lists to use for your events!

I really don't have a style. I would like to think that I adapt to the crowd at any given time.

The smiles on a client's/clients' face when their event was successful!

To be able to choose what is best for myself and my family.

I'm open to ideas and will also present the best solution which incorporate their ideas for the best possible experience.
