Wonderful salon! Charming, clean, great decor and friendly staff. Jenni Haven--I've been seeing her every month for over four years for hair coloring and now she's at this fine spot. When I moved to nyc I tried many salons before finding Jenni, and ever since I've followed her wherever she's gone. She is so talented and tries very hard to champion what her clients want. I came to Triple Crown thanks to Jenni. She's a wonderful new stylist there that had been cutting (and coloring) by hair for several years at another salon. I have short hair, a pixie cut.I've lived in NY for 7 years and have been to several salons with great hairdressers.  Triple Crown however is the first place that "feels" like a salon. As soon as you walk in it's a fun, warm and welcoming space. It certainly feels like a treat to be there, and so much effort has been put into the interior and lighting to make it feel that way. The owner is also extremely welcoming.Jenni is amazing. As well as being a true professional and amazing at making hair look good, she's also just a really lovely, interesting and genuine person to sit next to and chat to for an hour or however long you are there. She has a real calm vibe and always listens carefully to what you are aiming for with your hair....and if you're not quite sure she always has ideas that make sense for you.I would highly recommend taking a visit to this salon, and Jenni in particular. Triple Crown is a nice, calm salon on Fulton St. I initially chose it simply bc there is an easy entrance - my elderly MIL needed a haircut and can't do stairs. Although a 95 yo woman is NOT Triple Crown's youthful demographic, Natasha was happy to cut my mother in law's hair and did a great cut. I had a wonderful experience here. I have curly hair, and a history of bad and so-so experiences at other salons... so I'd put off making an appointment for longer than I'd like to admit. Finally, I just went ahead and booked a time. I was nervous. (REALLY nervous.) Fortunately, Imani was very calm and kind - and superb at cutting and styling curly hair! She understood curl care, handled my cut with confidence, and had a real respect for my hair's pattern and "character". (That sounds weird, but those of you with curly hair will understand.) She even took the time to do finger-curls (wow!). I walked out looking - and more importantly, feeling - like a million bucks. I have been to this salon twice, and both times I was met with excellent customer service and a awesome haircut and double process. Natasha is very friendly, and the ambiance of the salon is very bright and inviting. Additionally, the prices are very reasonable for the services provided and for Brooklyn. Wow, what a great place! I don't even want to mention which stylist I see because I've seen the work from everyone and it's all fantastic. I get a short cut myself, and I really appreciate that you don't pay a "female tax" on a short haircut like so many other salons. Always clean with great music and atmosphere. Had to seek out a new place for a haircut as my beloved stylist of 5 years left the city. I live close to Triple Crown and have walked past its cute interior for a while. I first sent my boyfriend there and they did a great job. I decided it was my turn to try it too. What a gem of a salon! Very friendly, low-key, warm environment. Great service on the phone as well. They recommended Birdie for my thick, wavy, unruly hair. And Birdie is indeed amazing. She listened really thoughtfully when I described what I wanted (or don't want!) and she provided helpful input. She gave me a fabulous haircut that I am thrilled about. I love the way it moves and shapes my face. She also gave me an incredible blowout - honestly one of the best I've ever had. Jolene was the best! She totally understood what I wanted and had me in and out in a timely manner, but without making me feel rushed. She really strove to understand what I want in a haircut (growing out a pixie! It's a wild ride, y'all) and it was great to get her advice, since she has short hair as well. Finding an affordable salon within walking distance to your apartment is borderline impossible in New York/Brooklyn. So when I stumbled upon Triple Crown Salon while walking in my neighborhood, I was like, nah it's too good to be true. I made an appointment, and they graciously called me about 30-45 minutes beforehand to let me know they were running a little late, so I could spend an extra 15 minutes enjoying my coffee at home.When I arrived, they offered me water/coffee/tea as I waited. The receptionist was incredibly kind, and my stylist, Karen, was very warm. I think she could tell that I'm not really a talker when I'm getting my hair done. So we chatted a bit and then she just let me relax. She did exactly what I wanted with my hair, and even asked what kind of blowout I wanted (I feel like sometimes I leave the salon and I look like I'm in my 30s because of some huge blowout). She was efficient, too. I was in an out in about an hour.The best part was that it was so affordable for Brooklyn ($80 without tip). And while I usually freak out because I forget to stop by the ATM for tip, they have a list of the stylists' Venmo usernames so you can easily tip them that way.I was so pleasantly surprised and will for sure be coming back here! Natasha saved the day. I was looking for a new salon but ended up at another place on Franklin where they turned my hair from a pretty caramel color that I was happy with (just needed a roots touch up) to various shades of ashy brown and black. I had passed by Triple Crown on my way home, so looked it up, saw the great reviews and made an appointment. Most salons would have put me through "corrective color" paces which is time consuming and costly, but Natasha knew exactly what to do to fix my hair color without a lot of fuss. She really knows what she's doing. I am so happy to have found my new salon which is a beautiful, open, airy and friendly place with pretty wooden cabinetry and a light green ceiling. After my stylist left my old salon, I was on the hunt for a new spot.  And I've found it.  Hail sweet Natasha!!! She does beautiful color AND will give you great honeymoon advice!  The salon itself is gorgeous and carries only cruelty free products.  Thoughtfully decorated and just the right size. Triple Crown was recommended to me by a friend and I feel I owe it to spread the word! I've gone to some famous (and famously expensive) curly hair salons, but none of them even came close to Triple Crown! I have to be honest - I didn't want to review this place because I loved it so much. I was looking for an appointment on a Wednesday night and was able to get one the very next day! No 2-3 week long waits, a cut under $100 for curly hair (plus a 10% discount as it was my first service!), super nice people, AND the best haircut of my life? I wanted it to stay my little secret...But for all the trouble I've gone through to find a great curly hairdresser for an affordable price, I'm feeling grateful. Natasha, the owner, cut my hair, and was able to see my vision and execute it perfectly. After the cut, she styled my hair with some great smelling curl serum and blow dried it with a diffuser, but I have to say, my locks look just as good when I wash and go - and that's no easy feat! This is definitely my new go to salon. As an added bonus, you can also use Venmo for tips! Super helpful to those of us who never carry cash. More...

Woman-owned business, welcoming and calm interior, warm and relaxed atmosphere, unparalleled haircuts. I'm growing out a buzzcut, and am thrilled I found Natasha and her salon. As an awkward introvert, I felt relaxed during my appointment, was listened to about my preferences and ideas, had alternatives suggested but not forced on me (without an upsell) and came out with a cut that kept all the length I had grown, flatters my face and style and is easy to style, even though I'm at an unquestionably awkward stage of growing it out.
