Q&As

Once I have established with the client exactly what it is they need, I start producing the initial concept(s).

For a logo, this would normally be 3 concepts. I then the preferred concept and develop it into the finished version (usually involving 2-3 sets of proofs and alterations). The finished version is then supplied in whichever format the client needs.

For a printed product, I would normally produce 1-2 initial concepts (eg front page and inside spread of a brochure). The preferred concept would then be developed to produce the final article (usually involving 2-3 sets of proofs and alterations). I can then supply print-ready artwork directly to the client, or source and manage the printing of it myself.

Typically I would need to know the target audience and use for the product; whether there are any pre-existing branding rules to adhere to; and whether the client has any particular likes and dislikes for me to bear in mind when designing.

Problem solving! I love looking at a situation and finding the most suitable way forward, one that is practical and attractive to the eye.

I like looking at new creative ways to convey messages and information.

I enjoy working alongside clients and creating really good working relationships.

I wanted the opportunity to work with greater creative freedom than many agencies allow.

With a young family, I also wanted the flexibility to be able to see more of them!

I offer an experienced, clear and creative approach to design, with a friendly and approachable manner.
