Q&As

Having the opportunity to help people identify and break out of destructive patterns that are limiting the potential pleasure of living. Being involved in the process of change and seeing clients have the weight of their issues lightened, is a very rewarding and humbling experience.

My journey towards becoming a psychotherapist has been life-long. I realised that I was interested in people whilst working for many years in a customer facing role for a high street bank. I found as I got to know people some would share aspects of their lives, such as problems they were experiencing, and I felt empathy and an instinct to help them.

This led me to exploring how people’s minds work further by doing a degree in psychology and to become a listening volunteer with Samaritans before commencing formal training as a psychotherapist and counsellor.

Being a psychotherapist is more than a job to me. I believe that my natural enthusiasm and empathy can help give a positive experience for my clients. Whilst training to become a psychotherapist I have had placements at two counselling services in London and worked with a wide range of people and issues. In addition I did a year long placement within the NHS, facilitating group therapy for patients with personality disorders and complex needs.

I am a Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (Psychotherapy) having trained at the Metanoia Institute in London and have an MSc and Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I also hold a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling.

I am DBS checked, hold public liability insurance and my work is supervised by a UKCP registered supervisor.
