I am very pleased with our new extension, I now have an ultra fab kitchen and family room with lovely bi fold doors onto our new decking. It is everything I hoped for.
Alan & Teo from Trend Build Construction were able to take my rough sketch and understand what we wanted and provided advice and proper plans.
The builders were professional, polite and tidy !
The work was done within the time frame they had quoted and I would highly recommend them.

The conversion of the garage in to a living space is a "change of use" of part of a building.
An application for approval under the building regulation must be made before work commences.
The submission of the building notice is an appropriate way to achieve this.

Planning permission is not normally required .
A loft conversion for your house is considered to be permitted development, not requiring an applications for planning permissions, subjects to the following conditions: a volume allowances of 40 cubic meters additional roof space for terraced houses.

Loft cleared and prepared, rewiring is assessed, new floor joists fitted, floor insulated, floorboards laid, rafters reinforced, dormers installed (if applicable), roof lights installed, stair case fitted, dormers tiled and vents fitted, windows fitted in dormers, the roof is insulated, partition walls erected, wall plates and first fix, electrics upgraded, access panel for water (electrics and eaves storage) walls are plasterboarded and architrave/skirting fitted, bathrooms clad and extraction fitted, second fix, heating and finishes, decorating.
