Great looking hotel with lovely views. First impressions very good, no problems checking in. Booked for 4 nights.. Given room 127. Avoid this room unless the following appeals to you. No Shelves or drawers, the wardrobe is tall the rail inside is too high unless you are over 6ft, the shape if the wardrobe means the rail goes from front to back making it difficult to reach stuff at the back. If you are over 5' 6' the shower is no good, the shower head only reaches as high as my chest. The heat in the room is too hot, even with radiator off & window open. Not enough plug sockets. We complained at reception after 1st night and we were moved to room 93, what a difference. No issues at all with this room.|Breakfast is buffet style with everything you need, except on the last day when we were in the Brasserie, where Breakfast was cooked to order.|Would have given 5 out of 5 if it wasn't for room 127. I am a professional face and body painter booked to paint at a Christmas corporate event at the hotel. I was also an invited dinner guest. There were at least100 people dining plus a wedding function going on at the hotel at the sma time. We sat down to et and I hd chosen the bass dish. I have to say regardless of the fact it was a mass catering evening fro the kitchen staff I have to say that all the dishes I ate arrived hot, beautifully cooked and delicious. All eating at my table of 12 agreed it was delicious. ||Great staff at the hotel really friendly and helpful not only for guests but also liaising with me when I set up for work. ||Great hotel. We stayed at Tregenna Castle hotel for 5 nights and overall found it a very nice place to stay.||Room 109 had stunning dual aspect views over St Ives. It was basic but comfortable and very clean. The only issue might be noise from events held at the hotel when people are leaving. ||The facilities were very good and we enjoyed a round of golf, swimming and jacuzzi.||The staff are all very friendly and welcoming.||The Brasserie food was average and prices are a little high. The desserts could be better presented, especially the trifle and the ice cream.||We were guests of the wedding being held at the hotel which was well managed. There was also a corporate Christmas party being held on the same day. Another Christmas party was held the following evening and we were woken when the guests left, I hope whoever was shouting out for AJ found him safe and well! hey but it is Christmas and everyone is entitled to enjoy themselves for a least one night a year.||We would not hesitate to stay again at this time of year.||||| More...

We have visited Tregenna for over twenty years – so know it well – and our children, who started small, still come with us even though they are now well into the twenties. The main attraction is the views but also the sporting facilities and so it was excellent to see that – at last – Tregenna has first class tennis courts which are wonderful and play as you would expect. We always have a wonderful family time in our Lodge timeshare weeks but now, with the tennis courts FINALLY upgraded, this is the icing on the cake, when, weather permitting, we play for a couple of hours daily. In addition to the sports facilities, the view and air are magnificent (and even the weather was pretty kind) and the Lodge suited our circumstances perfectly. Thanks for another great week More...

As my review title suggests this really is a great place in a great location the extensive grounds are well maintained and include what appears to be a very good golf course our room was very good and a nice size . It takes about 15 minutes to walk into St Ives by using a wonderful woodland path that includes several waterfalls surrounded by exotic plants. The hotel is marketed as a family resort which it is; but ; it cannot be considered to be the country house hotel that its appearance would suggest.During our 3 night stay there was no restaurant available probably due to a function on the first night and weddings on the other 2. There is a cafe type area where meals are served but this just like the bar lounge is neither comfortable or appealing. Breakfast is served in the large room used for the aforementioned functions it is a self service buffet with a very good selection that is well prepared but there is no availability of the normal options you would expect in a hotel. To sum it up this really is holiday camp catering to a good standard. There are some very good deals online for bed and breakfast and this hotel should be considered as ideal as a base for touring the area. On all 3 nights of our stay we opted to eat out. More...

I attended a charity event at the castle and had an overnight stay. Last year when I visited for the same event I was a little bit disappointed with the hotel and the experience but this time was different. I had a wonderful room (128) which was big and had amazing views of St Ives bay. The room was clean and pleasant. The staff at the hotel were brilliant from start to finish and I enjoyed the breakfast which was included in the price. My only moan was the cost of the drinks at the bar, I ordered a gin and tonic and a bottle of lager and it came to £15.80, however the hotel staff really made it an enjoyable visit and experience. Lovely place set in 72 acres of gardens , lovely food , room very clean the only thing I can complain about is the lack of view from our bedroom window , I’d booked this trip back in April explaining it was for my husbands birthday ( which was while we were there ) the room we were given was room 88 and the view was of 2 big plastic conservatory like buildings with bright lights shining day and night , roof tops drains gutters and pipes , the hotel wasn’t full so I was puzzled as why we were given such a room with a terrible view , I asked at reception and the receptionist asked if I’d booked direct with them which I replied that I hadnt but had put in a request for a nice view to which she replied that I hadn’t paid for a room with a sea-view ! I said I didn’t expect a sea view but did expect a view of some sort of the 72 acres that the hotel was in !i asked the receptionist why they would put somebody in such a room when the hotel was not full and she replied that it was just the way it was ! It’s a pity because this left a bad taste in what would have been a very enjoyable couple of days ! More...

We stayed at the Tregenna Castle Hotel to celebrate my birthday with my sister and brother-in-law. It was a special offer through Wowcher and a very generous deal. The receptionist was really helpful when we enquired about upgrades to include a seaview and gave us keys to other rooms to look at. We were tempted by the lovely spacious seaview rooms and paid the extra £20 a night. They were lovely rooms and worth the extra cost. The friendliness continued throughout our stay with the bar staff and breakfast staff. St Ives is beautiful and the Castle is in lovely grounds. My husband and brother-in-law took the steep walk down to the town whilst my sister and I drove down. They did advise that it was a difficult descent and were pleased to have a lift back. This is highly recommended to come and stay for a special treat More...

Clean towels both days and room was comfortably warm.||Breakfast was very good. The offer of a free drink on arrival wasn't used as we wanted to go into St Ives to look around before it got dark and the offer was for between 4 and 6 pm. Same with the cream tea, time restricted offer and as were out we didn't want to return just for that. Myself and 4 friends have just returned from a weekend at Tregenna Castle to celebrate my 40th birthday. We stayed B&B in Carrick Du, a 2 bed hotel apartment a few meters from the castle. It slept 6 with a double, twin and sofa bed, 3 shower rooms and toilets, kitchen, dining area and living area. It was perfect. We could eat in or eat out. The best of both worlds. We were originally booked for 2 weeks earlier but due to 1 of our party being unexpectedly in hospital we were able to change our dates after speaking to Geoff on reception who couldn’t have been more helpful. From checking in this weekend to leaving we all had a great time. The reception staff were welcoming as were the staff at breakfast and in the Brasserie. The food was hot and plentiful. Special mention to the lady in Castle Beauty who gave a fab massage that was a surprise from my friends. The pool and hot tub were great, so warm. All in all a lovely weekend stay.
