TLDR: one-floor branch of anytime fitness located in the corner of a strip mall with most of the equipment you could possibly need=====Full disclosure: my home gym branch in Virginia just opened about half a year prior, and thus serves as my only comparison for a commercial gym. I was in town for about a week and had brought my anytime fitness fob, hoping to get a little bit of cardio on the trip. This branch was located in a strip mall right off the highway. As such, there is ample parking.Wear/tear: Some of the equipment had definitely lost some of its initial shine. The two benches at the free weights are slightly torn, with the inner foam starting to show. Equipment/Infrastructure: This branch features a significant amount of cardio equipment, with weights in the back and a small exercise studio. There is a few spaces in the back where you can leave your things, but the cubbies are not locked. Three bathrooms/showers round out the infrastructure. In terms of equipment, you'll find everything you normally find at a commercial gym. There was a single squat/bench combo rack in the back with another self standing barbell rack next to it.The place was surprisingly busy at night--there were four others in the gym when I arrived at 10:30 on a Friday night. Before you read further, please note that I have lost 52 lbs in last 8 months (48 more to go) . This would have not been possible without my trainer David H and Anytime fitness Newark. I want to write about David first before going over this gym.I have been working with David from last 8 months and pretty much taking session/week since then. David is just amazing, powerhouse of fitness and someone with treasure trove of nutrition knowledge. For a person to lose weight, along with self motivation you need a trainer who can constantly motivate you, spend his valuable time with you, share his knowledge, teach you latest and smart exercises, check your form and most importantly making sure that you are not falling off the weight losing goals by cheating and not exercising. As a trainer, David is willing to go that extra mile with me, spend extra minutes even after our session has ended. He would in fact invite me to the gym during his own workout sessions so that i can learn more from him. I check my weight every Wednesday and the weeks that i do not lose weight, it is David who is more dejected than me. Thank you David!If you ever need a trainer, please go and reach out to David. I was struggling to lose weight from last 10 years and had joined few other gyms and trainers as well. Nothing can match this gym and David. Off course it is dependent on self discipline and healthy diet but having a trainer who genuinely cares that you lose weight and constantly motivates you is the most important thing.Talking about this gym facility, this is a great clean gym. All the equipment's are maintained well and restrooms are always clean. They have variety of classes everyday. I personally go to HIIT by Rachael every week and she is a great trainer as well. It is not a very busy gym (except evenings between 5-7pm) so is ample space for everyone to exercise. I've worked out in this gym for a few times when I'm in the area for business and have thoroughly enjoyed the workouts.  This gym is clean, the restrooms are clean, the washrooms aren't funky smelling and the equipment are in good order.  And isn't that what we really want in a gym?  I don't need the big box gyms' hoopla & gimmicks.  Staff says hi and then I'm left alone to do my thing. I love the energy in this gym. People are mindful of each other's space, and so the chill environment is perfect to get some real GAINS in. I'd specifically like to highlight Trent, who was my personal trainer and  provided me with a solid foundation for weight lifting. He taught me valuable lessons in form, and truly pushed me beyond what I thought was my own limit- countless times! Although I'm barely starting out on my weight lifting journey, I simply love lifting weights now. Noticing myself become progressively stronger over time has become all too satisfying! No matter how gradual the process. Not all trainers are the same, so when someone reputable is accessible to you, see it as an investment in yourself when you look into their services. An investment that kickstarts your health, making it simply invaluable! Trent has mastered the balance of being patient, all while challenging you to set your own personal records every workout. Love it !!! Trent (my trainer) super amazing keeps me on task keeps me motivated I can tell I look different and it's really the best money I have spent on myself. The gym has never been the sort of place I like to be & I used to hate working out. After hitting a particularly high body fat percentage I joined Anytime Fitness & started working out with Trent. Almost 4 months here and I absolutely love it ! Trent is kind at heart and at the same time he always has a solid game plan for me every time I come in. The increase in weights over time is spread out in a way where my body is able to recuperate in a timely fashion. Every single workout is different and new, but for me it always includes cardio, strength training, core workouts, balance. Trent comes up with really effective, creative, always-changing workouts. Since working out with Trent, I feel a lot stronger and most importantly, I'm always looking forward to working out. My cardio stamina is way up, my arms & legs are stronger than they've ever been. The way Trent explains how to tweak + correct your form is also exceptional - it's helped me so much in improving my form even when I'm working out by myself. Plus, he's just a lot of fun to talk to, and I look forward to catching up with him at the same time that he is making me kick ass. Also, Anytime Fitness' facilities are excellent. I love how much space there is, the equipment is great and everything I'd ever need, it never feels crowded, the other clients and trainers are always awesome and the gym + bathrooms are always very clean. One of the best PT in London. A year ago now, I started trainings with Baz and I must to say that’s the longest period I’ve been committed to any kind of physical training or sport, so that already says a lot about how beneficial it’s been this training form me. The combination of tones of different workouts and tones of motivation that he gave me, made me understand that with small changes in my lazy lifestyle, I will achieve a better life in all aspects physically and mentally. Up to date and thanks to my sessions with Baz: I lost 10kg, I’m stronger than ever before, I started running ( I still don’t believe this part myself) and I quit smoke ( when you see result and you want to get better, this becomes easier than ever as part of the process). I love this gym! The manager Matt is so helpful, he would greet me every time I came to the gym or when he was cleaning the equipment next to me. I never had an issue updating my payment info or canceling my membership, Matt took care of everything without extra charges. The members of this gym are also very well-behaved, most of them will clean the equipment after use which encourages the rest of us to follow. The gym itself looks small but it is not crowded, you can find all the necessary equipments with no or very short wait time. There are three private bathrooms, very clean and you don't need to wait at all. The gym is also close to a lot of restaurants (Venus Cafe is my favourite after work out) and major freeways. Most importantly, I want to use this opportunity to thank my personal trainer Trent Gallant. We've been working out for about 4-5 months and he helped me lose 15 pounds. He is a really cool guy and I enjoyed every session with him. The thing I appreciated the most when working out with him is that he would prepare a workout plan before every session and run them through before the actual workout. After every session, he would also send a summary of the session. This is very helpful to starters because someday in the future we will rely on ourselves to design workout plans. I learned quite a lot about fitness from these notes and my conversations with Trent. I'd been going to the gym for months, but not enjoying it or seeing any real results. I spoke to Bazilio, he has such a positive and motivating attitude that I signed up for his online training programme, and it's changed everything. Although I have been faithfully committed to Anytime Fitness for 3+ years, this review is specifically for my trainer, Trent Gallant. We have been on this amazing fitness journey since my self-imposed inception 3 years back. I started at 283 lbs, am currently at 187 lbs and still losing! Trent has always made himself available to me when and where I need him most. It is because of his tutelage I was able to lose the weight mentally and physically to achieve immaculate results. He pushes and challenges me to try new levels of fitness I never thought possible, he makes my body ache for more...that is what a well-rounded trainer is supposed to do. Trent makes fitness a fun journey, an exciting experience each session, and happily modifies a workout to accommodate areas that get funky at times. Hi, I joined this gym almost 2.5 years back, lost around 20 pounds and love it till today. I look forward going to this gym. The staff is pretty friendly and helpful anytime. I highly recommend this gym to anybody who wants to lose weight, feel strong physically and emotionally. After my morning workout most of the days, my day is pretty productive.It's also a pretty clean place and has all the needed equipment to work out. Great place for a healthy lifestyle and it's a good addiction he he!As a mom of two I felt I will never be able to lose weight and get in shape but learnt that we should never give up but keep trying, be disciplined with our work out regime and results will follow automatically.Only when we love our self we can love others so investing time in taking care of our health both physically and mentally (yoga/ meditation) is the greatest gift we can give it to our self.I highly recommend David Huffman, brilliant trainer in one word. He's 100% perfect with his work and with zero imperfections. He's very passionate with his work. I was literally struggling to build core strength, upper body and just do a simple squat as I wanted to build strength both in my upper body and in my lower body especially strength in my knees. David taught me the steps in detail with so much diligence and lots of patience. He really goes beyond to help if someone takes interest in their exercises/ workouts and answers questions in always a very humble way. He's very knowledgeable/ confident with the form that's required with each exercise so that it's safe to practice with age. His training sessions are excellent, well planned and takes the extra effort to cover so many exercises in the session. Even after that when I regularly work out at the gym, I can always look upon him to freely ask questions. Even till today he teaches me and helps me with my form when I get stuck. If I am fit and feel strong health wise it's because of his guidance and constant encouragement. I have lot of respect/ gratitude towards him personally and professionally and always will. He taught me so patiently for so many days how to use weights and build strength both in my upper and lower body. I have so much gratitude towards him and still learn from him. I have been working out at this facility for 3 years and love it there. It is very clean and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The personal trainers welcome you and always offer helpful advice. Trent Gallant has been my personal trainer for the last 2 years. He has helped me to lose weight, build muscle and gain self confidence. He is wonderful and encouraging and has helped to change my life. Trent will design a fitness program for you based on your needs and physical ability. He encourages you to do your best and to be your best. He is extremely motivating and a lot of fun to work out with. Trent is flexible and reliable and has never cancelled one of our sessions. Long overdue review. Been a member here on & off but during my time here it was perfect experience. The best management MATT is the nicest owner ever. Its always always clean. The machines are always working & well maintained. The equipments are always easy to find. Shixin the trainer is very helpful with my queries. I heard about this particular location when I first joined the ATF family. I had no idea that I would eventually make this club my main gym. This place is huge & it's hard for me to remember just exactly how old it is because the equipment is kept up so well. It still has the new-club smell. Patrick is an excellent club owner & he really takes the time to make his presence known in a very casual & subtle way. You won't find him spending his time in the office. Most of his time is spent working out & getting to know the other members. The same can be said for the rest of the staff members & trainers. David Huffman has been my personal trainer for the past 10 months. He takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients. He creates customized work outs based on my goals. He explains and demonstrates each exercise when necessary. He tells me the muscle that the exercise should be targeting. He also makes sure that I am using proper form every time. He regularly creates assessments to monitor progress. He motivates me to step out of my comfort zone and reminds me that I need to lift heavier weight in order to see growth. Personal Trainer: 6 Stars to you David Huffman....Yes, thats right, an extra star to David!! I have been training with David since last year and it has been wonderful. I came in with a goal for weight loss plus endurance gain and this guy has helped me shed loads of pounds while enhancing my stamina and core strength. His specialties:   --Very Reliable and Dedicated: keeps me motivated. --Accommodating and flexible: Always fits in my schedule. Not a single time has he cancelled a session from his end or shown up late nor does he rushes through any of the sessions. --Understands strengths/weaknesses/previous injuries and plans each of my workout on those lines: David knows exactly how much to push me so that I workout to my full potential yet each session challenges my mind and body to perform better. My Trainer:I joined Anytime fitness and started training with Shixin a few months ago. I would say I got lucky that I was at the right place and time because I found Shixin. We trained twice a week and I practiced as much as I could like he advised me too and the results surprised me. My goal was to gain strength and endurance because I had suffered multiple knee injuries which always restricted me to do many activities or even do cardio regularly. Shixin created a plan for me that helped me get to a strength level that I can finally move on from my injury and do a lot more than I could ever do in my life. He is very knowledgable, with his experience in training and knowledge of physiotherapy he was able to modify exercise for me that did not hurt my knees at all and i still gained a lot of muscle. My size also dropped from 4 to 2. He always knew how much he should push me and what I should be doing. Sometimes I didn't even know he increased the duration of my circuit. I would only see a giant grin on his face in the end when he would tell me how much more I did and I would always be surprised. This happened every week. Sadly, i only had limited time with him since I was going to move in November but I will really miss training with him. My body has always been slender but it always lacked strength and stability and I achieved that and so much knowledge about physical training in the three months I worked with him. Thank you, Shixin! Facility: The equipments are really good and very clean. I was always able to find space and equipment to do my entire circuit without having to disturb anyone. Been going to this gym for several months now. I really appreciate the clean, friendly and welcoming environment here. Everyone cleans up after themselves by putting weights back in order and wipe down any machines they touch. Their equipment is pretty top notch with personalized tvs attached to them. They also offer all kinds of classes. Staff is super friendly, simple and straight forward. No pressure tactics. Just a great gym for a great price. Oh, and they are actually open 24/7! More...

I've been looking for a clean, friendly and well run gym. It's actually really hard to find a gym that you can see yourself staying at forever. I'm so glad that there is Anytime Fitness! 1) Clean - Anytime is clean. This is a big deal to me (especially in a gym)! Anytime's staff is super responsive when it comes to keeping their gym clean for their clients.2) Friendly - Gyms can be a little rough around the edges and so business emphasized that it's hard to let your guard down and commit. But the staff at Anytime Fitness are simple, straight forward, and no pressure. You can tell that the staff tries their best to take care of their people. They let you take your time, give you space and always let you know that they are available. 3) Well Run - Anytime has cardio, strength, weights, and classes for zumba, yoga, cycle, and boot camp. It's got all you need. AND their stuff is always working. AND LASTLY,  they are  open 24 hours. Anytime.I love this gym. It's small which is exactly what I want.  I am a total fan of this place because the facility is a great size for anyone to become successful in their fitness goals. I used to go to another '24 hour' place, and I was completely turned off by it.  This place is truly 24/7 and I love it. Some nights when I really need to get stress out, I come to the gym without any worry of it being closed. And while I'm in there it feels like I own the place because I don't have to wait for machines. The owners and trainers are super friendly and helpful.  The owner Matt, (shout out to Matt!), is super chill and very friendly. A major kudos note, one of the trainers was working and I had a question about a certain exercise he was doing.  Being curious, I asked him. Totally helped me out and answered all that I needed.  He totally was NOT a jerk about it at all unlike other gyms. Working out at Anytime gives me the comfort and with comfort it personally gives me the confidence to get out and get my workouts in!Last note, I love how they have a heavy bag and the rope right next to each other. I love this gym! The trainers are super awesome, never really trained with them but as people who run the gym they are very nice and helpful. Ive been coming here for around 6 months now and its worth my time and money. The gym is not very big but i believe it has everything most people would need to work out and train. So, after a couple months of going back and forth, I figured I should just stop making excuses and take control of my health again. I came back in, met with Matt again and signed up. Again, it was painless, quick and no hidden fees or information.I've been coming here for about 4 months now, atleast 2-4 times a week usually at night. I typically see the same people who are on the same work out schedule I'm on, but sticking to their own plans of what they're comfortable with. I've met a few members already, and everyone has been extremely nice and willing to offer help and support (a spot, form and technique, etc). The people make this gym really worth it. EVERYONE cleans up after themselves by putting weights back in order, wiping down all of the machines they touch, respect each other's spaces, they don't sit and chit chat or stare at their phone while occupying a machine, etc. Everyone there is simply there to work out and sweat! I'm addicted to say the least, except I'm fighting the flu as I type this and of course the gym is on my mind right now :/ More...

Joining this Anytime Fitness gym has been one of my best investment made in 2016. Location is awesome, clean and organized equipment, friendly staffs, and inviting atmosphere. The property is well kept, monthly fun challenges to promote regular attendance, and offers more group exercise classes compare to other AF locations. Updated 02/21/2016I've moved out of the area, but I'll always consider this the gym as my #1 gym. This Anytime Fitness got me to work out again. Also, a big thank you to Matt for working with my schedule in terms of membership. I let him know in the beginning that I was moving out of the area in February 2016, and he was very accommodating.Other reviewers mentioned about the lack of towel service. I've always been doubtful of towel services at gyms because 1) they're usually used very often and get worn down easily, and 2) it's so much cooler to own your own microfiber gym towel (recommended!) and use it at the gym. Clean and well maintained no frills gym. Gets a bit crowded on a weekday between 5-7pm. Variety of equipment available. Free wifi and places to charge your phone. Shixin was my personal trainer. Did an amazing job kicking me back into shape! Nuff said. More...

Long over due...I used to be anti-gym ( I am a fitness pro and work in corporate fitness facilities in S.V.), that is until I stepped into Anytime Fitness.  It's like stepping into a boutique version of a more famous open all day/night gym MINUS the creepers! Five stars for my trainer Shixin Yu. Shixin is a fantastic trainer. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He knows countless training skills and can always find one that suits your physical condition. I will highly recommend him.I hired him as my personal trainer for a month, 3 days a week. We took an evaluation and he understood my status. Then we communicated very clearly about my medical conditions and my goals for this class, and he designed the plan just right for me.In the following month, he trained me to build up my muscle. The plan went very well and my progress was extremely impressive. For example, I can only do 140lbs bench press before the class; at the end, I can do 200lbs! That's a big grow. All my friends noticed my muscle grow.Another story. After the class, I need to travel for a month and no gym access. Shixin designed a plan for me to train on my own body weight. Update: 12/19/2015: Still on with the gym and the training sessions. Lifting weights now thanks to the continued training under Trent (personal trainer). He is now teaching me Olympic lifts all gauging my interest in lifting weights. Truly a great experience and hope to continue on.Thanks again to Matt and Trent for keeping me coming back to the gym thrice a week. Down another 6lbs and squatting 160lbs :). More...

I really loved Anytime Fitness and I'm very sad that I have to leave.Management was always nice and helpful, the gym was always clean, never too crowded, the bathrooms were always clean (they are personal bathrooms with a shower, not locker rooms which I really liked) and it was a pleasant environment. I thought the price was great for close 24/7 gym access.It was a smaller gym but I never had trouble using the equipment that I needed.  This was the perfect gym for me as someone who had always been intimidated about going to gyms ( for I am weak and nerdy). It was a great space for me to get comfortable in, and I'd see people of all body types and athletic skill working out there. So if you've ever been unsure or uncomfortable in gyms this might be a good place for you to start! I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that they'll open up a location in Hayward in the near future! More...

I needed a new place to work out. I passed this facility many, many times and finally walked in and Bam It was a No Brainer, this was my type of gym!  I have always worked out where it was women only so, I was a little apprehensive about working out with men.  This is the Best facility I have ever worked out at.  It's a Beautiful, Very Clean,  Comfortable & Extremely friendly environment.  The equipment is High Tech Quality with an abundance of choices to choose from.  The "EXTRA"  touches are seen everywhere.  Anytime Fitness did not miss a beat designing this place nor the equipment they have put into it.Matt the owner is Amazing, and cares about each client in making his place feel like it's your place.   Trent, one of the personal trainers introduced me to the equipment was Fantastic, Fun and showed me the ropes.  The Zumba teacher Jenny is awesome. the classes are three times a week and filled with a fun group of people every class.I joined the first day I walked in, I knew I did not need a trail pass,  I knew this was the gym for me and it will be for you too. Took advantage of the 14 day pass and I'm impressed with this gym. Yes it is smaller than most, but all the equipment is new and in great shape. The atmosphere is great with a small group of people that come to this gym, everyone picks up after themselves. While its in the same price range as city sport and 24 hour, I would recommend this gym highly. Matt is a cool guy and didn't give me any hassle or push me to sign up with this club when I asked for my deposit back for the free trial. More...

I've been contemplating joining this gym for awhile but because of the price, I kept putting it off. After gaining like 10 pounds from summer bbq's and beers during the playoffs, I knew I just had to do it. I'm so glad I did because I feel so much better and energized! Especially since I can go early in the morning then go home and get ready for work! This gym is like 5 minutes from my house. In the morning it is sooo empty and you can really concentrate on sweating your ass off! Everything is new and includes TV's on each machine. I joined Anytime Fitness because it was conveniently located close to work. I used the gym almost on a daily basis before heading to work. I loved the fact that it was clean, and had a full workout equipments. The TV on each of the cardiovascular machines made it fun for me to use. They offer early morning classes, but they were too early for me, but he gym instructor was always kind and friendly to all the gym goers.I also like the fact that they had showers that allowed me to get ready for work after my workout. Love this gym! It's so clean and new! I used the 7 day pass and I have nothing really too negative to say about it. I do wish that there were more locations so I can go to one by my work in Mountain View. $40/month is a little pricy considering how small the place is. It would be perfect if there was a stair master machine and squat rack. But overall if it wasn't for the price and limited location I would totally get a membership there. Plus the staff there are super friendly, unlike other gyms. Give them a try and take advantage of their 14 day pass! More...

Love this gym! The owner of the gym is really nice, and so are the people who go there. A rule of the gym is to wipe down the machines after using them, and although I do occasionally see people forgetting this rule, most of them follow through. I love how the gym is open 24/7, because sometimes I don't have time to go during the day. There is a wide variety of machines to use, which is also a major plus. More...
