I offer both Yoga and Mindfulness Meditation for Individuals and in the Workplace. I have been working in Newmarket since 2007 and now work from the wonderful Cleveland House on Old Station Road. 1 to 1 sessions can be held in person or via skype. I travel to your Workplace to offer organisations various courses to suit your needs.
Do you suffer with aches and pains, maybe in your back, neck or shoulders, wrists or knees? Do you have headaches or migraines?
Have you had your pain a long time, or has recently occurred? Do you carry tension anywhere? Are you busy, irritable or stressed?
Do you sit at a desk a lot? Do you spend time looking down at your mobile phone or laptop? Have found your posture has been affected?
Have you lost or are you losing your core muscles? Do you suffer with anxiety or depression?
Do you have a chemical dependency, maybe alcohol or cigarettes? Do you struggle with insomnia? Struggling to get to sleep or waking up in the night?
YOGA is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility, balance and breathing to boost physical and mental well-being. The main components of yoga used in a class are postures (a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing. However there are 8 limbs of yoga and I teach these in my 10 week yoga courses and my 8 week mindful meditation courses.
Dozens of scientific trials of varying quality have been published on yoga. Most studies suggest yoga is a safe and effective way to increase physical activity, especially strength, flexibility and balance. There's some evidence that regular yoga practice is beneficial for people with high blood pressure, heart disease, aches and pains – including lower back pain, sciatica, neck and shoulder pain – depression and stress.
Yoga works for everyone, whether you are engaged in a desk job, or a professional sports person, maybe you want to lose weight, or are a housewife, retired or a student.
You will find as your flexibility, strength and balance improves in your physical body, that your flexibility, strength and balance of mind will also change.
Do you want to learn how to tune in to your own awareness of your body, thoughts, feelings and emotions? Do you want to learn how to calmly respond to the challenges that life brings with control and composure, rather than allow yourself to engage in habitual behaviour that doesn’t support you?
Do you want to learn mindfulness meditation techniques that are simple, practical and profound you can use in your everyday life?
Do you want to learn how to reduce stress, anxiety, fear and depression? Do you want to work with PTSD?
Do you want to learn how to manage acute and chronic pain?
Do you want to learn to improve sleep and reduce insomnia? Do you want to increase inner peace, happiness and well being?
