Our personal trainers are qualified level 3 fitness professionals and have many years of experience in the health and fitness profession, as well as extensive martial arts backgrounds. They bring this discipline and varied functional exercise knowledge to every clients session.

Our senior trainer, Brian Reid has over 25 years of teaching experience and have been a martial arts practitioner in excess of 30 years
studying many styles including;
Kickboxing
Muay Thai
Boxing
Judo
Tae Kwon Do
Shoot fighting
Escrima
Brian has participated in many tournaments and held undefeated titles in Thai-boxing and Kickboxing.
He has run a number of classes throughout the London area for established clubs and privately.
Dispensing professional tuition for individuals, small groups of friends, gym classes, universities, security companies and corporate clientele.
Providing tuition for a range of abilities from absolute beginners to some students who went on to hold European, Inter-continental and World title belts.
Since retiring from competiton Brian has greatly expanded his fitness base with many other fitness related endeavors; bouldering, free climbing, coasteering, obstacle course racing, mountain biking, trail running to name a few

He brings some of the training aspects of these activities into his group and solo classes along with his passion for active lifestyles.

I asked for Brian's help after seeing a photo of myself and realised I needed to shift more than a few pounds. He delivered a series of personal training sessions to kick-start me into getting back in shape. The workouts comprised of a combination of cardio and weights. Brian is very professional in his approach and knows exactly what he is doing. Each session was challenging yet varied and I felt that I was pushed to the limit. More importantly, he gave me the confidence to put into practice what I had learned from his training sessions. I will be attending the Toughen Up classes as I can also see the value of a group workout. However, I would not hesitate to recommend Brian as a personal trainer. He is exceptional and a real gem!

Brian's toughen up sessions started with a total body MOT. Based on that MOT every session he has prepared for me has been of the utmost quality. So impressed. Brian has a sense of humour that makes you do that extra press up I cancelled my GYM membership because of TOUGHEN UP. Brian in one session made me achieve far more than my GYM session. I would recommend Toughen UpBrian's toughen up sessions started with a total body MOT. Based on that MOT every session he has prepared for me has been of the utmost quality. So impressed. The Toughen Up classes are the best...my fitness has improved greatly and I have dropped a dress size!The classes have a friendly atmosphere and the instructors are excellent and very approachable.Each class is different so you never get bored..fantastic workout sessions.

The Toughen Up sessions cover a variety of cardiovascular and muscle conditioning exercises alongside boxercise, all in a fun and motivating environment. Each session contains different exercises and this provides a new challenge every time you attend.

Toughen Up is a excellent way of getting fit for a great price. Starting off with a warm up session then moving on to pad work, which the instructor shows you how to use with the right technique. A circuit is also used to get us to work hard for a a period of time this is followed by a cool down. I think Toughen Up is the best service i have used to keep fit, not only its a hard work out, its a fun work out for everyone.

I have been attending the Toughen Up classes for a number of weeks now. The format is great - moves and techniques are broken down and explained clearly by the expert tutor. There's a challenging circuit which is for strength and conditioning followed by a "warm down" to prevent injury at the end of the session. If you really want to learn MMA & get fit then this is for you!

I have been doing the Toughen up boxercise classes for over a year now and it is the best thing i have ever done. I have lost weight, toned up and completely changed how i eat and feel fantastic for it. After seeing the results from attending these classes i started doing personal training sessions. A great head to foot workout that's brilliant for toning up and loosing those unwanted 'bat wings' and 'love handles' with a shrinking waistline in only 2 weeks of starting!! It's not a walk in the park but it's attainable, good for building endurance,stamina,flexibility and strength.You certainly know your alive when all those muscle start aching! Bring a towel and water because you'll need it!!!! An excellent way of getting that 'feel good factor'

A welcoming class which left me feeling just the righrt anount of tiredness to know I had achieved my maximum potential for my body. Each class is slighty different and the variety is great. The blend of of technique and repetition with excellent music makes for a most enjoyable workout. Attending 'Boxercise' classes twice a week has really helped with my weight loss and I have lost 4lbs since joining (in conjuction with my diet plan). A great class!

Body MOT

Body Composition Analysis This is an essential motivational tool for fat weight loss and muscle building programmes This service is only available to current PT clients, group class members & Clean 9/ FIT 1 or 2 participants. A Body Composition Analysis is FREE with any of the above programs and you will receive: Body Fat % Body fat weight - determines health risk Body water % Total body water litres estimate - Average daily calorie requirement Body Mass Index (BMI) - plus normal range Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) - est. minimum energy requirement of the body at rest Lean weight Lean % Waist/ Hip ratio A record of the data The Bio-impedance Analyser It is a non-invasive device, which measures the impedance value of the body providing quick and effective analysis of body composition. Whole body analysis, rather than partial body analysis of arms or legs only, is measured for greater accuracy. Bio-impedance analysers use the scientific tetrapolar method of four electrodes which are applied to the right side of the body on the hand, wrist, foot and ankle. On entering all the parameters and resting in supine (laying flat) position with hands and legs slightly apart, the Bio-impedance analyser will pass a very small electrical signal (painless) through your body that will measure the resistances of muscle, fat, water etc. You will receive a record of the data and statistics within a couple of minutes. Accurate tracking of changes in Fat Mass and Lean Mass The results of the Bio-impedence analyser are 99% accurate and provide far more information than just a BMI !!! - Not suitable for people with Pace-Makers - !!! !!! - or in the early stages of pregnancy - !!! For the most accurate results: NO eating or drinking 4 to 5 hours prior to the test. NO exercise 12 hours prior to the test. NO alcohol or caffeine consumed 24 hours prior to the test. Try to perform the test around the same time of day. The key to healthy body status is not TOTAL WEIGHT but correct body composition. If lean muscle and fat weights are in correct proportion it does not really matter what you weigh.
