From the very beginning I received excellent customer service from Juliette who was very friendly, helpful and polite. My situation is a bit different from the norm but no problem is was too much and a bespoke arrangement was made for me. So far I’ve been very impressed with the quality of work done especially given the time constraints. I run a little Homestay and have already been complimented by guests on the cleanliness. I’ve only met two members of the cleaning team so far - Louise and Alex, which again are very polite, friendly and hard working. Everything is run through an app which is easy to use, well built and efficient. It does everything you need including handling payments, dates for cleans, feedback on individual cleans, who will be cleaning and much more. I’ve looked at bad reviews to look for inspiration on what to improve but the few I’ve found only mention the company is not professional, bad customer service and pricey costs. All of which, in my opinion, cannot be further from the truth. Issues are bound to arise especially in something like this but gathering from Gleem’s replies they always try to remedy the situation. To me it just looks like salty customers riled up Gleem can’t just wave a magic wand in the rare instances something goes wrong...Keep it up! More...

I used them time ago and I cancelled the service after 2 weeks. In three hour shift the cleaners were worried about having a break for coffee and sigarets. When I asked to vacuum under the beds (there was no carpet and after their cleaning there was still a lot of dust) they stare at me like I was asking them an unusual thing..... that kind of things only if it is a deep cleaning and obviously the price would be different..... The ridiculous things was that they were using a vacuum cleaner with the small brush (not the one used for the floor) to clean the whole house (5 bedrooms) but without spending the necessary time to do it. **SHOCKINGLY BAD SERVICE, DO NOT USE**
As I write this, I have made 37 phone calls to Gleem and have sent 18 emails, all since 21st September (5 days ago). That hopefully gives a feel for how utterly inept this company is and how lacking their customer service is.
Starting from the beginning, I made enquiries with Gleem as to whether I could set up a regular domestic cleaning service and was told this would be fine. Great. I booked it for Wednesday 26th September, and received a ‘We’ve Received Your Booking’ email on the same day. Later that day, I received a voicemail from a staff member called Altair, who said that unfortunately the 26th was not possible so would I mind having the clean on Monday 24th instead? I sent an email to the Gleem email address (note you cannot email any member of staff directly, and so staff seem to pick up random emails and have no clue about the history of the case) to say that this was fine. I also called and left a voicemail to say this was fine, and that I would drop my keys off over the weekend so they could use them on the Monday. However, I was ill over the weekend and didn’t get a chance, so on Monday morning before 9am I sent an email marked important saying that I would leave the keys in a safe place and please could they confirm this was ok. I then called approximately 6 times over the course of the day to see if that was ok, and left two voicemails as there was no response to any of my phone calls. Unsurprisingly when I got home the house had not been cleaned.
So, on Tuesday I tried several times to call again, with very little luck. I got through to Altair who seemed very confused about who I even was (he thought I was a different Amy) and didn’t seem to know why the booking was moved to Monday as it was still showing on the system as Wednesday – even though he was the one who said it had been moved to Monday! I asked politely if all correspondence could be by email as I was at work, but received 2 more voicemails (one asking me to call back, one blank message). So I emailed the generic Gleem email address once more reiterating that I cannot answer the phone whilst at work, and also asking if I could expect the clean to happen on Wednesday as it didn’t go ahead on Monday. With absolutely no success in finding out whether the clean would go ahead the next day, I decided to just leave it and see what would happen. Then at 21:54 on Tuesday evening, I got an email from Courtney-Leigh Oakes (the Domestic Manager apparently) asking if I had dropped the keys off at the weekend. Pretty unimpressive considering that I had called and emailed at least 10 times after saying I would drop the keys off explaining that I would leave them somewhere safe instead.
I woke up on Wednesday (today) to another email from Courtney (sent at 00:07 – office hours are supposed to be 9am to 5pm so I am now understanding why it is that no one ever answers the phone during these hours) asking if I had left the keys in the safe place for Wednesday’s booking. I replied saying Yes, set off for work and thought I would try to give them a ring just to confirm. I got through to Greg, who seemed unable to even confirm if I was due to have a clean on that day, let alone whether they were aware the keys were in the safe place I specified. He said he would put me on hold and speak to Courtney, but after 10 mins on hold I hung up and called again. After about 5 attempts Greg answered again and asked if he could email me. I said absolutely not because I have no faith that anyone will email me and I need an answer now – will my clean happen today or not? Simple question – you would think! After being put on hold for another 5 minutes, I finally got confirmation from Greg that yes, the clean would happen!
At around 10am whilst at work, I received another email from Courtney (again in response to an old email and clearly without any awareness of the current situation), saying that there never was a booking for Monday, but yes, I would be having my clean today “with our lovely cleaner Arina.” I didn’t bother replying because finally it looked like the clean would happen. The clean was scheduled from 12-2 and as I received no emails or calls in this time I assumed it had all gone to plan, at last. But of course not. Strangely, one hour ago, I received an email from the generic Gleem email address with the subject “Re-schedule of your booking”. This was strange, as it was received at 13:31, an hour and a half after the booking was scheduled to take place. Moreover, the contents of the email itself simply say “Thank you for contacting Gleem, we have received your email. Due to the volume of emails received, please allow 1 working day for one of the team to contact you. If you consider your request to be urgent in nature, please call on 0800 808 5544. Please note our office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.”
Well, I didn’t reschedule the booking, but looking at my account on the Gleem website, they had gone ahead and rescheduled the clean to tomorrow without asking me first. Once again they failed to do the clean they said, once again they failed to answer the phone as I tried to call at least 5 times in the last hour, and once again they have left me two blank emails. As I am writing this, I have just received another email from Altair stating: “we just had a notification that the cleaner had an emergency today but we can book you in for tomorrow at 11:45 am and your regular clean will start tomorrow every Thursday at that same time. Please leave your keys on the same location. Is this okay? Thanks.” To which I have responded: “No no no. Cancel this booking and ALL FUTURE bookings. DO NOT charge £40 cancellation fee. I am in the process of writing a very long complaint, which I will submit shortly and leave as a review on all available sites. I tried to cancel the booking but was informed that it would incur a fee. Please email me to confirm that all bookings are cancelled and there will be no charge TODAY so that I never have to deal with your god-awful, inept, embarrassing company ever again.”
I wonder why I have a feeling that this will not be the last time I have to struggle to get in touch with this company to resolve an issue? Why do I have a feeling £40 will be deducted from my account despite my clear instruction?
If this story were not clear enough, my advice is simple: AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. I have spent hours of my time trying to arrange one simple house clean and all it has caused is stress and frustration.

I 've heard about Gleem from a friend who just had a clean in Bath. Their website looked great, and so was their customer service, who made sure they met all of my needs, which was important as I had a few things in particular I wanted cleaned. D'you know what? I'm genuinely impressed.
The service I've received at my flat has been of consistently high quality, and I've been very happy with the communication, punctuality and booking process etc.

Last time, unfortunately a lamp was broken in my bedroom... I made Gleem aware of this and within a few days they had bought me a replacement AND dropped it off in person at my office. They weren't kidding when they said they had a customer happiness team!

From first picking up the phone I received nothing less than a 5 star inventory clerk service for a quote that puts their competition to shame. Gleem was extremely flexible and accommodating, tailoring their service to my needs even to the extreme of turning the inventory report around on the same evening the clerk visited!
