What do you love most about your job?
Variety is the spice of life! I get to work with a wide variety of customers in different sectors, which challenges me every day to come up with content that will engage their followers.
What inspired you to start your own business?
People around me were being made redundant, I ended up in a department of one and could see the writing was on the wall, so I planned my exit.
I was latterly the business editor of a series of local newspapers, so had built up a range of great contacts who helped and advised me.
Initially I thought a business magazine was my route to wealth but my customers were more interested in my writing abilities and social media acumen (I was an early-ish adopter) so my business has taken me in a different direction, which I am delighted to exploit.
Why should our clients choose you?
I would like to think it's partly because I am a nice, honest guy who works hard on their behalf!
But I doubt whether many people would engage and outsource to me just becauses of that. In the end it comes down to effectiveness, which is provable in a number of ways, clicks through to website from Twitter, an increasing number of engaged followers on Facebook or the regular appearance of stories in the press. However you want success to be measured. I also offer clients the option of easy-in, easy out. It's a risk to me but one that makes sure I have a real and sustained focus on achieving the results you are looking for.
