We held a function at the Crown recently for about 20 people. We were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent and , although it was a cold winter week day , nice and warm.
This Inn is in the highest tradition of English country hostelries, well done the Crown!!

A decent pub for dinner, with very nice staff.
I had the burger here, which was quite good, nothing special.
My boyfriend had the fried brie, which was incredible.
I'm giving it four stars because the staff are very lovely here, and the ambiance was very warm. The lady at the bar introduced me to Peach Schnapps and lemonade, and for that I am forever grateful.

We had some friends up from London for the weekend, so thought we'd try somewhere different and out of town. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was what we would expect for a busy pub on a Saturday night. They had run out of a few dishes, but what we did have was excellent. Went to the Crown recently with my elderly mother. Great place, friendly and lovely food just as you would expect but the manageress went one step further.
I quite like ice cream so after the main course (carvery which was very nice) last Sunday I ordered some ice Cream. Mum quite liked the idea but is lactose intolerant so asked for sorbet. They didn't have any on the menu but after explaining that mum couldn't have dairy the manageress asked for a couple of minutes. She reappeared to say she had some lemon sorbet in her personal freezer and offered mum some of that. That is service above and beyond ....
