Tavistock, London
Hi there,
Thanks for taking a look at my profile :0)
I've been running my handyman business for nearly 21 years now, where I find myself helping my local community, with their DIY problems
I love the thought that being a handyman is kind of part of pre-war history when the man of the house would go to his garden shed & repair household items.

Tony has done a few jobs for us at different times and we have always been really impressed with his professionalism, workmanship and friendliness. He is reliable and very reasonably priced. He is our first port of call for any DIY and household tasks we need doing. On one occasion we asked him to quote us for some work on a fence panel (which we thought was quite a big job) and he fixed it there and then, in very little time and didn't charge us a penny! I highly recommend Tony for any DIY or household tasks. More...

Happy to recommend Tony. There were a number of jobs that needed doing which were all done within the time stated. It was mainly painting, but also included boxing some piping, fixing handles and changing a kitchen tap. Communications were good and I was confident about leaving Tony in the house without anyone being there. Thanks for your help. More...

What do you love most about your job?
I love being creative & really enjoy making old or run down stuff, look new again
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was in sales for many years & one day I decided to try my own thing" getting a bit fed up with the dog eat dog sales environment.
I soon found there was a great demand for a Handyman service in my area so, I went back to school & complete several classes/qualifications to aid my new business.
Why should our clients choose you?
I love my work & putting thing right again.
I'm qualified in
City in guilds: Garden Design
City in Guilds: Interior décor (paint effects)
City in guilds: Stain Glass
Part P: electrical installation
Advanced: Plumbing certificate
I love the thought of helping people within my work.
I'm a reliable & trust worthy person
house trained & very clean & tidy.
roofing
Over the past 3 years, after taking on this old property.
Erected a large about of scaffolding.
I've removed 20 meters of roof tiles, wooden batten & felt underlay.
I fitted a Velux window & fitted new felt, Batten, and slate roof tiles.
I also had to take 6 courses of stone, off the top of 1 chimney to remove a plant that was growing out of it. Then rebuilding the chimney & making the whole of the roof watertight.
Removing 4 meters of birds nest from both chimneys
fitted liners for wood burners.
Plumbing
I am a corgi registered un vented & vented water systems.
During the last 21 years, I've fitted kitchens, Bathrooms repaired/changed loads of taps, removed & repositioned radiators.
un blocked "I don't want to remember" blocked wc's.
countless Toilet inlet valves, push buttons & levers.
Plastering
The art of plastering"
Got to be one of the hardest things I've ever learned to do"
I can't say I'm an expert but over the years, I've repaired holes in walls, flood-damaged ceiling plasterboard.
erecting stud walls, skimming small areas.
Since living in Devon"
I've taken a room from scratch, removing the ceiling, old larve, stripping the walls of lime & hair plaster.
Now the exposed roof & beams. I have sanded the beams, insulated the roof space & dry lined, re-plastered the whole ceiling.
I've used Hemp & lime plaster on the wall's & it has now been re-painted.
Painting & Decorating
Since leaving school some 37 years ago"
I have done much painting & decorating" started off with around the family home.
Then I did a Painting & decorating course which involved work experience & then received a trade certificate.
When I started my Business back in 2000 I wanted some qualification so, I completed an interior decor city & Guilds qualification at Greenwich community college.
During this course I learned how to use color & paint effects, creating different environments within a home.
Carpentry
I used to make balsa wood airplanes when I was a kid, as time has gone on, I've realized more, how much time it takes to create out of wood. Let's face it you won't get much change out of £10,000 bedroom storage refit, from one of the top companies! I can offer cheaper alternatives. I can make & hang shelving & create storage needs.
I can install door frames & doors, Skirting boards & wood & laminated flooring.
