We recently contracted with Tommy Lane and we were glad we did!  They painted the exterior of our Carmichael home and a large detached aluminum shed and did an excellent job!  They are definitely experts at what they do. They are very professional, knowledgeable, accommodating, polite, friendly and the price was reasonable. James and Carlos are such hard working individuals and Fred Summers, the foreman, was a pleasure to work with. He was so helpful and oversaw the whole process all the way through. We can't be more thankful for the Tommy Lane experience we had during our house painting transformation! WHAT A DIFFERENCE! ! we LOVE it!! He and the crew worked hard (and this was during the hot streak we recently had), and they made sure it was done perfectly and hitting on every detail! The crew is professional and friendly (heck, even our dogs loved them!).  They take their time making sure it is done right, while also being very efficient and on schedule.  Tommy knew we had a family gathering coming up and he made sure the entire project was completed well in advance.  This was no small job (especially trying to time out the painting during the VERY hot weather we had).  My wife (who is VERY detailed) is so in love with the new look of the house and we are getting tons of complements from family and friends!   If you are thinking about painting inside or out, you will not be disappointed if you use Tommy! We recently contracted with Tommy Lane Painting to paint the interior and exterior of our house. Tommy Lane Painting was recommended to us by our general contractor. The estimate to paint the interior and exterior of our house was $8000.00. So far we have had the interior and garage painted. The painting of the interior of our house required additional care as we had our hardwood floors refinished immediately prior to having the interior painted. We picked an antique white for the interior color with an "egg shell" finish. Our decision to have the egg shell finish added an additional $900.00 dollars to the estimate total for the interior paint work. We emptied the entire house to refinish our hardwood floors, so the house was empty for the painters to work in. The paint work on the interior was done, in July 2017, to a very professional standard. Tommy Lane's painters were very careful with the prep work prior to any actual painting. To paint the interior required three and one half days. The quality of the paint work was excellent, there were almost no flaws ( a drip on the bathtub and one on the edge of one bathroom mirror, etc). Later, in September 2017 Tommy Lane and crew returned to our house to paint the exterior. James and Carlos did the majority of the work. I have come to trust Tommy Lane and his crew when they make suggestions about painting your house. We picked our colors and we let the crew guide us on how to make the colors work best. Tommy Lane and his crew have seen many more houses painted then I ever will and they know what works! The crew spent more days preparing the house than actually painting the house. The actual painting went fairly quick. Then James and Carlos spent an entire day detailing all the work. The results were excellent! We are very happy with the work that Tommy Lane ands crew did. Tommy is a fair guy and I found him to be very responsive. The foreman, Fred Summers is very helpful and really goes out his way to be sure you are getting what you want. James and Carlos are really good guys who work very hard and really want you to be happy with all the work. Tommy Lane is a very professional contractor who does exceptional work. Five stars! I had the exterior of my house painted by Tommy Lane and crew two weeks ago and couldn't be happier!  Tommy was at my home everyday overseeing his employees.  The work was meticulous and the cleanup spotless. Carlos made some suggestions on the trim and it turned out amazing.  A special 'thank you' to James, Carlos, the older gentleman who rescues dogs, the young man I nicknamed 'Barney' and to Tommy.  I tend to always look for the flaw and can honestly say there weren't any!  I will definitely recommend to friends and coworkers. My experience with Tommy Lane Painting was outstanding. I've heard nightmare stories about contractors and was really nervous about getting my house painted - until I met Fred, who managed my project from start to finish. He made sure I understood everything they would do, how much it would cost and answered all my dumb questions without making me feel stupid, which was much appreciated. Fred was always in contact, answered my calls and texts in a timely manner and oversaw the work personally. His staff is top notch and did excellent work - my house looks amazing!! Tommy Lane and his dedicated crew went above and beyond in painting our home. Their expert craftsmanship and attention to detail in getting our 1939 home prepped for painting made all the difference in the final outcome. We had a lot of areas that needed attention including some dry rot repair. They took their time making sure everything was done correctly without cutting any corners. Carlos used his immense skills to really transform the house and cared for it as if it was his own home. We recently had work done on our house as part of a renovation to our first floor.  We requested a bid to have walls and ceiling textured across multiple rooms after it was poorly done by a prior contractor.  Tommy talked through our texture options, the pros and cons of each, and then promptly provided us a quote.   I appreciated his time and opinion.  We were also pleasantly surprised to find out he could start within days!  The initial quote for the duration was three days, but he and his crew finished all the major areas in just one day!  They will follow-up with one additional day for minor areas in the upstairs.  I cannot tell you how appreciated this is by a homeowner with three kids.  In addition, he and his crew were extremely professional.  After our experience with the prior contractor, who allowed texture to go on walls that did not require texture, doors, stairs, etc. - I had so much assurance this was going to be a quality job when I saw the steps his team took to sheet entrances and floors in plastic, and cover our crown molding.  The result was amazing!  Tommy and his team fixed our texture and we can resume our renovations.  We will be contacting Tommy for painting our new cabinets next.  I highly recommend Tommy for your next paint or construction job.  Efficient, clean, clear communication and quality results.  You can't ask for anything more as a homeowner. We first met Fred, who gave us an estimate. What a personable gentleman!  We received our estimate that same day and we took it because it was reasonable and the other people we called never called back. They were able to start a week later because it had rained and ours was an inside job. Tommy and Terry arrived and we explained the job. Tommy gave us a few ideas to improve the job and we agreed. Terry started the job and Carlos came the next two days to work. Both of them were very polite, professional, and hard workers. They worked around our needs. When finished, Terry and Carlos put back the furniture exactly the way I wanted it. And believe me, I am OCD and they had to move heavy furniture inches this way or that. They never complained or rolled their eyes. The completed job was FANTASTIC!!! We love the way the rooms pop! Everything looks beautiful.From the beginning of the project to the end, everything went smoothly and Fred was always checking in with us. They pay attention to details and do all the little things to make their customer happy. My wife and I are very pleased with the service we received from Tommy Lane Painting & Construction.We own a large Victorian farmhouse that is the equivalent of three stories, complete with peaks, gables, and the like.  We needed to have the entire exterior--including shutters, railings, and a detached garage--sealed, primed, and painted.  I called Tommy's office late one evening, and left a message detailing the parameters of the job.  I received a return call early the next morning from Tommy's office manager, who was friendly and enthusiastic.  Within two or three days, Tommy had walked the property and prepared a bid.  It was expensive, but in light of the scope of work, we expected it to be.  We decided to move forward.Upon execution of the paperwork, Tommy immediately sent one of his workers to the house to prime a particularly-vulnerable shutter in advance of rain that was coming later that day.  A couple of days later, after the rains had passed, Tommy's crew commenced their work in earnest, beginning with two full days of power washing.  Tommy's crew consistently showed up by 8:00 a.m. each morning, and left the jobsite in good order each night.  Tommy and his project manager--Terry--also worked with us to select a shutter color, as we were up in the air.  At Terry's suggestion, we ended up choosing a burgundy color, and we are very happy with the outcome.  All in all, the house looks tremendous.From top to bottom, Tommy and his colleagues were professional and capable, without having the overly-solicitous customer service approach that I find annoying and fake.  They are just good people doing good work.  We would unhesitatingly recommend Tommy and his colleagues to friends and family for their painting needs. I hired Tommy and his crew to paint the exterior of my house. The quality of their work is impressive. It's been a couple of months and I can't find a single thing wrong. I echo what others wrote about the meticulous detail in the work. The way the trim is cut in, he paint application...all top notch. Recently my husband and I bought a builder-grade home that was painted a single, puke-y beige. EVERY. SINGLE. ROOM. Between the 20-foot ceilings and the square footage, the mere thought of tackling re-painting the interior ourselves was tiring. SO I called Tommy, and provided him with a pretty detailed order of what needed to be done. He's a consummate professional; he drew up the estimate, covering every base seen and unseen, guaranteed his work, collected zero up front (I would never work with a contractor who collected fees or an "earnest deposit" up front anyway). The job was finished in a couple of days, without a stray splotch, jagged line or wonky shade, and everyone in his crew was super-friendly. We got what we paid for in terms of price, and I am recommending him to everyone I know who wants to revamp their house (inside or out). We'll be calling him again for exterior. More...

Tommy took the time to speak with me about what my needs are, and he was clear, professional, and friendly in explaining to me what I needed to do to prepare for the project. When Carlos from Tommy's crew showed up, I knew I was in good hands, as Carlos was approachable and professional. Carlos was was thorough and meticulous in his work, cleaned as he went, and he consulted with me on items I would not have noticed otherwise and asked me if he wanted me to have him fix those items (e.g. small repairs that were not part of the original scope of work). This attention to detail will save me time in having to make those repairs later, and the repairs make for a better overall end result.Tommy personally checked in with me during the project, and I am elated with the quality of work and professionalism!
