We had a wonderful time at our tasting (make sure you go on an empty stomach). It was extremely difficult to whittle down our selections since we loved absolutely everything we tried! Nikki helped me come up with various price options and buffet styles. The tasting solidified what we wanted. Three weeks before the event we solidified the menu. I thought it was rushed, but oh my...! They know what they are doing and it went off without a hitch - and even better, and more delicious than I imagined.

Thrive Catering is the best! We were looking to give our guests a true southern cuisine experience so we chose stations- a Biscuit Bar, Shrimp & Grits, Salad and Brisket. I won't lie, people are still talking about the shrimp and grits- it was SO good. Other big highlights were the passed horderves-chicken & waffles, fried green tomatoes and lobster rolls- and the dessert bar with chocolate mousse shooters, pumpkin whoopee pies and cannolis. Another wonderful part of Thrive is their presentation- their food stations look like a work of art. The tables are uniquely decorated and extremely appetizing looking- no boring silver buffet treys. Not to mention the fact that they utilize organic and sustainable ingredients which is a great plus. We are Savannah locals and my husband is adamant about using the freshest local ingredients for our menu. Thrive was able to meet and exceed our expectations for our menu! It was really important to me for my out of town guests to experience a true Southern meal. I had a few traditional choices for our stations but Wendy offered and created a "fish fry" station with local fresh fish fried to order right in front of the guest, complete with hushpuppies and slaw! It was a very cool addition and made my wedding feel really unique and authentic! The only reason for taking off a few points are minor. My tasting including several fish options, and I was under the impression I could choose any of those at the same price point. That was not the case due to fluctuating market price, so I was a little disappointed when I had to change my first choice due to a huge price increase. Also, my father and I had a long discussion with Thrive about the choice of plate for the stations. We desired larger plates for guest comfort, while the recommendation from the caterer was for smaller plates. Although we insisted that we prefer the larger plate, the smaller plate was chosen for dinner. I don't think anyone knew the difference except my dad and I, but it was something we felt strongly about and was ultimately disregarded. Overall the service was quite exceptional! My husband and I were waited on personally by one server who was so friendly, polite, and accommodating. My venue manager had nothing but praise for the catering team at Thrive, they were tidy and professional! More...

Thrive was a great pick for our food vendor! We got many compliments on how tasty the food was and they worked with us to make the perfect menu that catered to many tastes. We did stations and we were able to mix and match all of the options to get the perfect setup. They even packaged us up some big boxes of food to take home with us at the end of the night since we didn't really get to eat during the night. They were great! Highly recommend!! More...

From the moment the staff and chef arrived to the moment they left, I felt we were in the most capable hands. In addition, the food was simply exceptional. My husband and I are from Colorado and South Africa and we wanted to incorporate a "sustainable" and "healthy" theme for our party. Thrive had numerous options on their extensive menu and our guests raved about how delicious the food was. They were also extremely accommodating to those with food sensitivities, so several of our guests were provided with alternative choices. We had a lovely experience while working with the head chef, Niki, throughout our planning of catering for our wedding. We decided to go the buffet route to offer three different types of options for our wedding guests. We received several compliments on the food and it was nice to see several guests returning back to those buffets for more food. Niki and her staff were extremely attentive to not only the groom and I, but more importantly to our guests. They offer a tasting prior to deciding on your menu which is great in making sure you are getting exactly what you are looking for in food for your dream wedding. Katherine worked with me to create an appetizer menu that was a combination of their standard items and specialized items we requested. We wanted bacon-wrapped dates and theirs were spot-on and delicious. We also wanted a medley of pimiento cheese dips, and they created a standard, a white and a spicy--all three were amazing. We also got soooo much cheese we still had extra the next day. Extremely responsive. Arrived on time. And the food was really, really good.
