Q&As

I love my work with a passion! I just love to help people make positive changes in their lives and to see them flourish before my eyes....it is a very rewarding feeling.

I have worked in the 'helping profession' for over 25 years, initially working with homeless offenders. I did this for 10 years and it was during this time I developed an interest which quickly developed into a passion for Counselling.

Once qualified I was offered a Counselling position with the Community alcohol Team in Worcestershire and it was here where I developed my skills as a Counsellor..I worked here for just under 10 years.

Since 2011 I have worked with clients privately and also working with other agencies such as, the LGBT network in Wolverhampton and more recently a therapeutic children's home in Worcestershire.

My inspiration to start my Counselling Practice? Firstly, I consider myself quite adept at Counselling and therefore very able to 'help' others....find their own skills within, to help themselves make the right changes for them.....working in a counselling position for an organisation can be be very restricting , both for me as a practitioner and the client.

Secondly, I have never really felt comfortable working for someone else....working for myself, I have more freedom to BE, DO....what I choose...and I feel everyone of us should be able to feel the same........there, I have been truthful!

Firstly it is my opinion that we (as in Counsellors) can not possibly be everything to everyone! By that I mean, it is quite possible that I wont be the right Counsellor for every possible client..for many different reasons, such as there is a counselling thing called Transference and basically this means " the redirection to a substitute (usually a therapist) of emotions that were originally felt in childhood...now sometimes this can be useful and worked with....but sometimes not.
However, this aside...if you feel there is something not quite right in your life and you want to make some real positive changes and you are ready to engage in some hard and difficult work, then I am ready to work just as hard with you....
