Loved meeting Rebecca and Kirk Weatherford. Check in a bit late but Rebecca was right there to get us to our room. there were no other guests last night so we had the whole place to ourselves. We were feeling very welcomed by Rebecca and sat and chatted for several hours at through at least one bottle of wine.||This lovely place is off the beaten track but well worth the effort to get to it it's sits on a large lake and has views of a pond directly out of our sleeping quarters. Our bed was the most comfortable bed I have slept in in a good while. In the morning we were treated to a wonderful breakfast of strawberry pancakes sausage and eggs and fresh fruit. everything was wonderful and I would go back here again anytime I am in the area. Loved loved loved it ❤️❤️❤️♥️♥️ More...

The grounds and facilities are great for outdoor weddings. Our main disappointment was the owner's policy of charging for small things like paddle board rentals on the small pond (in spite of paying premium prices for a wedding package) and restricting access to the property's trails to guests that pay to spend the night at their lodge (which sleeps about 15). Overall a very nice venue, but not a place where two families can mingle and enjoy the property in the hours before an evening wedding ceremony (unless the group is small, pays to spend the night at the lodge, and pays additional fees to rent row/peddle boats). We enjoyed a short stay in the charming private cabin ($175 for 2 adults, + $10 per child). The lodging is wonderful -- enchanting, rustic décor w/ grizzly bear motif. Nice furnishings & accoutrements: ceiling fan, rock fire place, robes, books, cookies, satellite TV, private bathroom w/ large tub. Breakfast nook includes mini-fridge, microwave, + coffee machine. Open patio w/ grill (bring your own charcoal).||||Walking the property, one finds a superb gazebo as well as private sitting areas -- perfect spots to enjoy the sunset and/or watch wildlife: frogs, ducks, turtles, fish, etc. There’s no pool, but folks can swim off the old dock. We did not swim as I’m paranoid about Zika. Parking is a gravel drive, near the owners' vineyard.||||For larger groups, there’s a “lodge” w/ a nice fireplace, big shared kitchen, + common room -- ideal setting for family board games after an exciting summer day. Checkout is @ 11. For an extra $25, guests may linger until 2 pm, gaining three hours to enjoy the cove.||||Exploring the hills overlooking the water you’ll find cactus, ants, wasps, snakes, & barbed wire – it’s Texas rugged. I recommend bug spray, sunscreen, jeans, and boots for all hikers. I spotted deer tracks and coyote droppings. The owner’s friendly dog, Maggie, who looks to be an Australian Shepherd or Border Collie mix, accompanied us on our excursion. Maggie is playful and very nice. Fair warning to kiddos and ladies in white slacks: Maggie will jump on you after swimming the creek and running through red clay. Expect light scratches and stains.||||The owner brings each guest breakfast. Be ready! She told us to expect her at 8 a.m. sharp, but she arrived at 7:40, before I’d finished showering. Breakfast was delicious – fluffy pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, & fruit served with fresh-squeezed OJ. Decent coffee (brew your own) is included with the room. Note for cabin guests: the ice machine is located inside the Lodge, next to the kitchen||||Negatives: boating and fishing are not included. Three Falls charges its guests additional fees to use rowboats, paddleboats, and/or floating chairs. Fishermen must buy a license and observe a 2 bass/catfish limit. Of course there’s NOTHING wrong with charging for such things -- America is still capitalist. In this reviewer’s opinion, the website’s “Things to Do” page implies such activities are included with room rental. My 4-year-old son had never rowed a boat. Shortly before we left, I asked permission to borrow an unused boat for 20 minutes. No dice. I offered to purchase 1 hour, but the young desk clerk insisted on collecting a full day’s rental fee! Be on your guard against every form of greed; for not even when one has an abundance does life consist of his possessions.||||Favorite memory: rising with the sun to hike cool owner-created trails. Go early to avoid mosquitoes + brutal Panhandle heat. On this circuit, one encounters “lookout point” (commanding a nice view), a “secret” mineshaft that my son was thrilled to discover, and the eponymous three falls, which are smaller than expected but very peaceful. A marvelous hammock hangs nearby. Above, you’ll spot a recreation of Golgotha – three wooden crosses honor Jesus’ passion and resurrection. I understand placement of this prominent & overt Christian symbol might make some guests uncomfortable, but rest assured: Three Falls is NOT pushy about its faith. No person offered us religious literature or pressured us to attend services. The property owners are strong Christians, but they respect fellow Americans’ right to explore diverse spiritual paths. I can dig that. Thank you for an enjoyable visit. More...

Three Falls Cove is a little slice of heaven! My husband surprised me with a weekend getaway to this amazing bed and breakfast. Rebecca greeted us with a warm welcome and walked us to our room to make sure everything was okay. She had refreshments in the great room, which is absolutely gorgeous! We had the best weekend! We were able to hike on trails, relax in the hammock, watch people fish, and even play with their sweet dog, Maggie. Our room was cozy and so quiet. The next morning, she prepared a country breakfast that was delicious. She is a gracious host and a true servant of the Lord. We plan on returning very soon. We fell in love with this wonderful B&B and wished so much that we could spend more time there. We will for sure be going back!||||Rebecca, the owner, has thought of your every need and made this such a warm, inviting place. On our arrival, Rebecca (and Maggie, the dog) met us at our car and showed us around - homemade cookies and lots of snacks - plus cold water from the well awaited us. The place is decorated with such a warm touch - you just immediately feel "at home". ||||Our friends stayed in the Gone Fishing Room and loved it. That room is probably my favorite because it opens up to the huge deck that overlooks the beautifully manicured yard and the lake beyond. It has sliding glass doors that access the deck. Plenty of chairs across the deck - and don't miss morning coffee with that glorious view! We stayed in the Astoria Room upstairs and it's SO nice, with a jetted tub and beautiful views. The beds are SO comfy and have beautiful quilts to keep you warm. ||||The great room has a huge fireplace and doors that open to the deck. The dining room is at the opposite end with a gourmet kitchen on one side. Breakfast is served at 9:00 - a home cooked feast. Eggs, sausage, homemade biscuits with gravy and homemade jams - a beautiful fruit salad too. The coffee is hot and plenty, as well as tea, orange juice - just about anything you could want, Rebecca has thought of! ||||After breakfast we took a short walk around the lake and found the cove and the "Three Falls" - a beautiful little gazebo is there and a hammock awaits.....the perfect place for a good read. ||||Don't miss the sweet little gift shop that serves as Rebeca's front office. She has some great gifts there - some from local artisans. ||||Such a great little find! SO glad we had the opportunity to have a little "taste" of Three Falls Cove - we will for sure be going back one day to fully savor this little gem!! More...
