Tom did a drone videography and photography of our engagement, which was on Mt. Tam (20 minutes off a trail). From the first time I called, Tom was incredibly response, nice, ready & willing to move fast. About 24 hours after our first call, we were practicing for the drone shot on Mt. Tam, and then ready to go for the actual engagement the day after. Tom did a great job on the day, contributed to the festive atmosphere, and then produced the 360 degree photos, and edited the video the weekend after. Tom was the photographer for my son's surprise engagement party. He was not only professional but he was able to work in a venue that last minute told us they didn' t allow any photographers on the premises. He was able to help us negotiate with the venue and he worked around their restrictions. Despite these difficulties, he was able to capture the entire event. I&#39;ve seen and experienced his expertise more times than I can count on 2 hands and I have 8 fingers on each hand so yeah, that&#39; s over 16! <br><br>He&#39;s cool, amiable, very friendly, professional, and more importantly - excellent at what he does, I&#39;ve tried to take good pictures and mine don&#39;t compare to him - well, obviously. I was in the restaurant / wedding / event industry for over 20 years. I&#39;ve worked with some of the best photographers at weddings that cost over $200,000 dollars - Yikes, and I recommend Thomas over all of those people. Why - because he&#39;s not demanding - he works &#34;with&#34; you - he&#39;s not a walking ego like many I&#39;ve worked with, and he&#39;s good looking - doesn&#39;t hurt. <br><br>The fact is he gets along with everyone. He helped me capture the moment I proposed to my then-girlfriend, now fiancé. I needed a quick turnaround (less than a week) for someone with a drone that could come out to Pacifica and help me capture the proposal while we hiked. This guy went above & beyond - he scoped out the hike, recommended 2-3 good spots where it would come out well and then got himself set up a little before we arrived - AMAZING! He provided us with multiple cuts of the entire video, with some background music and editing as per whatever we asked.

Loved working with him and will certainly be back in touch for our wedding, and any other time we need someone with professional photography / videography skills. More...

Tom was an absolute delight to work with. I contacted him a month before my engagement and he quoted me a great price. We agreed to pay half up front and the remaining amount after I received the photos/videos. <br><br>He stuck to his word and was accessible at all times leading up to the engagement. He was as invested into the whole day playing out as planned as I was. Tom was very helpful with his suggestions as well as doing his own research upfront. He went to the location multiple times to plan out where he would be hiding and sent me pictures showing his vantage point/views. He even marked the area where we should be standing. My husband Doug and I commissioned Tom to be our photographer for our 50th vow renewal.  He went beyond the standards as far as taking the usual pictures for us. Not only did he capture the moment we had at our renewal in Mill Valley at The Acqua Hotel, but he also drove us to a beautiful lookout called Strawberry Pt. where he again shot many more pictures.  We'd recommend Tom to anyone who lives in the Bay Area or who is traveling out there and needs a photographer. Tom is the best !!! I came to California from out of state for my 10 year wedding anniversary I wanted to hire a photographer to have a professional photo to remember our trip . Because I was from out of state I had a lot of questions about the area and he was always happy to answer them . The day of the shoot he was on time and had already picked out a few wonderful spots to take the photos. He took so many great photos I am finding it hard to pick out the ones I want to frame and hang on my wall . Like I said Tom is the BEST!!

Easy to work with and very fast turnaround.

I've now hired Tom for a couple of events and he always goes above and beyond the call of duty. I like the fact that he produced both photos and videos for my events. He's very flexible and open to direction, but also has great instincts. I have found myself at more than a couple of events now where Tom has been the Photographer, and I have gotten to see his finished work. Wow!<br><br>Tom has the eye of a great artist and the technical skills that make for some stunning photos. He has created some great photos using interesting angles, vivid colors, and wonderful framing effects. <br><br>I have watched as he goes about his work with stealth and deftness .... later, when I would see the photos I would think, "How'd you even get that shot?"  I'm always impressed. Tom is one of the more talented photographers and quite honestly I can say that with pride as I have been around quite a few terrible ones in my time. <br><br>What makes Tom excel above many of the rest, well first and foremost he effortlessly blends in with the crowd. One may not think that is a huge deal, but if you have been around enough amateur photographers, you find yourself having to pose constantly as they want that "perfect shot", and or running into them from time to time. Tom is able to capture the most pristine shots with ease, whether from distance or up close and personal and again not invading your space. Now I am not an aspiring photographer in any sense, but the wealth of knowledge Tom has makes you feel reassured he knows what he is doing. Not to mention the fact he comes fully prepared with various cameras, lens, and his drone (He is prepared). Speaking of the drone, killer aerial photos without anyone knowing he is operating the device, unlike myself who would end up running it into a tree and looking like a dunce. Shooting ratio.  A comparison of the number of shots a photographer makes relative to the number of images they elect to keep.  The shooting ratio was perhaps more relevant back in the olden times when images were made on film, and most definitely when they were made on glass.  Ansel Adams would pack large format glass on animals into the Sierra wilderness, bringing a few dozen plates and imagine how low your ratio must be when you're hundreds of miles from home with only a handful of chances to make something worthy.  That he could pull this off and produce some of the most magnificent place photography of all time is what makes Adams and his contemporaries - Lang, Evans, Arbus - iconic.<br><br>Thomas doesn't shoot film.  Thomas shoots zeroes and ones.  Even if he wanted to make images on celluloid it would be a feat to pull off, as film suppliers and paper makers and chemical manufacturers and processors have gone the way practically of the dinosaurs.  <br><br>The application of the ratio in a digital world is different for as there are different constraints.  You get more than a few rolls or two dozen plates to make it work.  You can shoot like Al Capone with a Canon Tommy gun so long as you have cards w memory.  Thousands of shots.  But maybe this ability will have you less motivated to learn about light, or depth of field, or composition.  You'll just shoot your subject until it practically isn't even there anymore.  And guess what!  You still might not get it right.  Your ratio is 1,500:0.<br><br>T. R. gets it right.  Most of what I've seen him make are images of the beautiful North Bay Yelpen as he works to preserve magical moments, silly moments, delicious moments.  And with recognition that his subjects are lovely, the dishes often so perfectly plated, the vibe uncomplicated and happy, it makes it no easier.  A shooter could still screw it up.  But dig it, go to our party pages and see for yourself, Thomas does not screw it up.  He even makes me look pretty and I kid you not this is a magical act even in itself.<br><br>Thank you for your hard work, Mr. R.  You make this world more beautiful.  I'm sure I speak for many when I say you are appreciated and an aspect of the weekend soirees that we look forward to.  I'd recommend your practice to anyone wanting to preserve a special moment. When describing Tom Rosencrantz in one word: It would be "excellent"! His incredible talent for photography is undeniable and it shines through each and every photo that he takes. <br><br>I've had the pleasure of working with Tom during several different events. He is extremely professional and has a knack for capturing the best moments on camera.  He harbors a skillset that allows him to capture the most intriguing images through his great angle usage and lighting techniques.  He brings life to his photos and each image tells a story. <br><br>I love being able to relive those precious moments simply by going through the photos that he's taken from the past. The quality of the images are top grade and crystal clear. I'm always so shocked at how beautiful the images are after the final edits. <br><br>I'm a pretty hard critic when it comes to photography since my Mother has been in the business herself for many years. To me photographers are like mechanics and hairdressers, it's hard to find a really good one who truly understands your photographic needs. Tom's pictures are works of art and speak for themselves.  He not only takes fantastic posed pictures (indoors, outdoors, at wineries, on a train, wherever) but he knows how to capture moments without you even knowing that he's there.
