About

I provide wedding, portrait and commercial photography, including events and head shots. Since 1990 I have provided excellent service throughout the Finger Lakes area to families, wedding couples and businesses. My approach is to discuss what each client has in mind and see how I can make that happen.

Q&As

The biggest secret I have learned in over 20 years of photography, is that my subjects have to relaxed and comfortable. I achieve this by taking the time needed to talk before and during the shoot, discussing how we are going to make great images and simply getting to know one another. I'm easy going and very patient, so making people comfortable is second nature to me.

I first ask to like to ask them their vision of the project: the big picture. I listen to the details of what they have in mind and then discuss how to much accomplish their ideas. Others questions usually have to do with location, outfits, the nature of the occasion and of course their budget. Once we have the conversation covering all of this, I'm able to provide a firm quote and after some discussion, we usually know if we are going to be comfortable working with one another.

That's an easy one. Whether it's a wedding, a family reunion or, recently, I photographed an airplane for sale, every project is different, challenging and exciting. I love it so much I never plan on retiring!

After college I started a couple businesses, but sold them after they became boring to me. I'd been taking photos since high school and knew how to run a business, so it was a pretty easy transition.

I feel the way I work with people makes them comfortable. Being in front of a camera is something many people get nervous about, even very outgoing people. So I work to get them to be themselves and pretend the camera isn't even there. I also do excellent work and my rates are very reasonable and for wedding customers, I'm always glad to customize my packages to suit their needs and budget. Many vendors in the wedding business do not offer that flexibility. I feel if a couple doesn't a full day service with all the options, I can adjust their rate accordingly. In fact, I do many weddings that have very few guests and only require the ceremony and some formals afterward, and for these it's more of a portrait rate than a wedding rate. I also have most project online ready to view, download and purchase prints very quickly.
