Mike has an uncanny eye for the shots that you were not expecting, and wouldn’t have thought of, producing dynamic, evocative shots that perfectly capture the essence of a scene.
I have gone out of my way to ensure Mike is available for every shoot I have and I never cease to be impressed with what he produces. And this he does, regardless of the tightness of a schedule or difficulties of a set up, Mike’s photography never fails to deliver.

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
It's not the camera, with the right conditions you can create amazing pictures on a smart phone, but if the light is wrong then it's a case of using your skill to produce a great image. Knowing your equipment and understanding light are the main factors, but then understanding composition, and telling a story in a instant are the key things in taking great images.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like to know the location of the shoot, it allows me to access the lighting conditions.
How the images are to be used, are they online for Instagram or are they to be printed, used as posters, flyers etc.
How many images they require
Turnaround of the project from Shooting to Post Production of the images.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating an image, that people love is very rewarding. Concepting ideas and creating something with like minded people is also very rewarding, seeing the finished product on a poster, online or in a magazine is amazing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Having been in IT and behind a desk for 20 years I decided after working on a short film doing the BTS/Stills photography that I need a drastic career change, after a year or doing work on films and some fashion I moved to create This Thing called Photography. 3 years experience now behind me it's time to push forward with my new career.
Why should our clients choose you?
Sounding very cliched but I am easy to work with, will deliver what you need when you want it. If you are not sure then we can discuss and together we will get the images you want. If the image needs it I will go the extra mile to get it for you (well within reason).
