A lovely pub with a good atmosphere. We didn't have any food so can't comment on that, but there's a very spacious beer garden and there's limited parking around the back of the pub. We will definitely go back for lunch or dinner sometime. More...

Located in the very pretty village of Avon Dassett. Popped in to meet a friend for a drink for a couple of hours on a Friday evening in this traditional village pub. My first visit and frequented by regular locals giving it a very nice, friendly atmosphere in the bar area. The back was laid for dining with a play area outside in the garden which was not in use as it had been raining. Modernised, clean loos with pretty, stone sinks were a pleasant surprise. A small car park at the back so easier to park on the road. More...

My girlfriend and I came away for a nice weekend, this pub was a 30second walk so it was perfect to grab a quick bite to eat. ... or so we thought. I cannot fault anyone who works for this pub apart from the chef. We arrived on the Friday to hear the chef wasnt there. The barmaids went out of their way to cook us food which we are forever grateful for. On the Saturday we heard the chef was in and was eager to taste the food. However after asking to be seated (other people were eating at this point) the chef decided he didnt want to cook for us, for whatever reason. The barmaids were clearly embarassed by his behavour and called the manager who had to appologise to us because we overheard him telling the staff he didnt want to cook. Can i just say the way the chef acted was disgusting. If you have turned up for work then do your job. You have people depending on you to do your job. Thank you for ruining our night you idiot. I hope the next time we come youre not there, because they have sacked you for being lazy and useless. The only reason this pub is getting 5 stars is because of the way everyone else around him acted, they made sure we were okay with free drinks and cheesy chips to make sure we didnt go hungry. I hope the management show the chef this review because the way he acted, was worse than my 6 year old daughter. I hope he grows up and realises if he turns up for work he is expected to work, not be a lazy sod. (I would use a different word if i wasnt leaving a review.) :)I would like to thank everyone who worked there to make us feel welcome, everyone apart from the rude chef. Thank you :) More...

Lovely little pub that is very cosy. We've always had great, friendly service and met some friendly locals there. We like that they have a nice selection of beers on tap and they change on a regular basis so always something new to try. We live in a neighbouring village but really enjoy coming here. More...

Booked a table for 4 for a Birthday Meal and left balloons and a cake the day before. The table looked great when we arrived.
The staff were all
fantastic and even the chef came out to say happy birthday.
The food was amazing, Cottage Pie, Steak, Chicken Breasts and Chicken & Chorizo. Empty plates all round. Well done to Steven R Forrest Stuart Robinson and the team. Highly recommended.
