Our family rented "The Wright Place" for a Family Reunion. We needed to accommodate an international family, many out-of-state family members, plus those scattered in all corners of Iowa. The room needed to accommodated 110 and KellyJean was their for us.Our goal was to keep it simple and easy for our family to attend, yet provide room for the little ones to interact and have kids table activities. KellyJean knew what setup would work with kids.Our family grill masters provided the pulled pork/buns and baked beans. Everyone was ask to bring a salad or dessert. KellyJean again knew what worked and our meal was served from the roomy kitchen with no fuss or mess.Our entertainment for the afternoon was Karaoke so we wanted the feel of being together for group songs, duets and solos. Yes, KellyJean knew the exact setup to merge the families together so they had room to interact and raise their voices in song.We all agreed that it was not only "The Wright Place" but "The Perfect Place" to have a Family Gathering.Our reunion was a HUGE SUCCESS with 107 attendees and the effort and workload to put it on was made easy. Thank You KellyJean, for your guidance, experience and helpful hints. We appreciate your knowledge and the facility and services available at The Wright Place. I chose the Wright place because it was one of few venues I found where you could bring in both your own beer and wine and choose your own caterer or bring your own food. It is a little more expensive, but when you factor in how much you save of food and alcohol, it was worth it. We booked our wedding in Nov 2015 and got married June 2017. Both Mary and KellyJean were both pretty responsive to emails. The night of our rehearsal, the refrigerator was at 60° but I called and they came to look at it and waiting while the temp went down. The only thing I didn't really appreciate about that was that it was implied that we didn't shut the door. Possibly, but I don't know who else is gonna spend $1000s on beer and pop and food and not check the doors. The night of the wedding went swimmingly. If there were any hiccups, my hosts and KellyJean didn't let on and I had no idea. We got our full damage deposit back within a month of the big day. I'd recommend this place to someone who is looking for a blank slate to decorate however they wanted. They do also offer linens and things to rent, along with some decorations, like lights and chandeliers. More...
