Went there for a place to workout after hearing how knowledgeable the staff was. Now the Wreckroom feels like home. Amazing place, great, caring people!

No other gym even comes close! Luke and Matt are the biggest beauties in the game, they’re both incredibly knowledgeable and legitimately care about ever member that walks through the front door. I trained for years out of the big “mainstream” gyms in KW and the support, atmosphere and gains made at the Wreckroom cannot be touched. Whether you’re a beginner or a veteran, a bodybuilder or a CrossFitter The Wreckroom welcomes everyone with open arms!! More...

I did some online searching for a gym that was different than what I was used to. I was looking for a non-judgemental, inspiring, welcoming gym that had a community or family-like feel but that had work and dedication as part of its culture. I didn't want it to be just a social place, but I wanted that warm element to be a part of it. I came across the Wreckroom and their 'Welcome Home' video and I just had to go check them out...they did not disappoint! I have never enjoyed a fitness space more! You have people of all fitness levels, all on their own journeys, coming together and supporting each other...it truly is a fabulous place filled with amazing, helpful, inspiring people...so glad I found it! Derek has been such a fabulous trainer to work with, everyone else I have met has been so approachable and positive...I honestly just cannot say enough about it... More...

Although I'm one of the owners, Facebook keeps asking me to leave a review, so here it is.

You will not find a better group of welcoming, friendly and inspiring people. It's simply incredible how this community has developed. When we set out to create a community atmosphere I really could not have imagined it turning out this amazing.

Not only do I enjoy going to work, I legitimately look forward to seeing the people of The Wreckroom when I'm off for the weekend. I am constantly motivated and inspired by the people I train and the others who workout here.

If you've ever felt intimidated or unwelcome at a commercial gym (whether that's because you're a beginner or because you want to be able to use chalk and bumper plates), The Wreckroom will make you feel at home!

Come try us out, I promise you won't be disappointed and I'll personally welcome you to our gym!

Before my first class with Derek at The Wreckroom, I began to worry about being able to keep up with the class as well as my ability to recover after.

I had not been to any gym in about 6 months. I am no expert on the subject of fitness, am in my early thirty’s and have been working a desk job for 3 years now. I am usually level headed but began to work myself into a state of panic thinking I needed to buy a heart rate monitor to keep me safe. Haha

I was so afraid of hurting myself or having a heart attack at the gym that on the day of my first session I was not relishing the thought of my workday ending. I was so rejecting the idea of this punishment that I had to make a conscious effort to leave my negativity at the door and let whatever happens happen. I decided I would just keep my mouth shut and take it real easy while attending this first time.

First impression for me was that there was a tonne of equipment at this gym and everyone there seemed friendly and welcoming. Derek’s class start was a nice warm up of moving the joints which probably saved me from a lot of recovery time pain.

Derek’s demeanor is calming and friendly. He quickly put my friend and I at ease, asked about our previous experiences and checked on us often to correct our form during the exercises.

In this class there is room to work out according to your personal fitness level, as well as modification options for those with previous injuries. The class size was small so there is room to amp up your workout if you choose. I’d also learned new activities I’d never done before, which I could tell targeted muscles I’d never felt before.

Walking out of The Wreckroom I was extremely happy and excited to return.

I can honestly say that The Wreckroom is by far the best gym I've been a member of. The atmosphere is awesome! There's always great music blasting, there's lots of equipment for both traditional weightlifters and crossfitters (no cardio machines. .. but that's what the sleds are for 3:) ), and there's lots of space to set up or roll out.
The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful - Luke and Matt in particular always go out of their way to provide advice and assistance, helping me get the most out of every workout. I feel like I've learned so much in just 2 months, on everything from technique to killer supersets to mobility and activation exercises, etc (and about a couple sick new death metal bands, too!).
I'd recommend this place to anyone and everyone looking for a great place to workout. I've never been happier with a gym and I've certainly never before had coaches who put in as much time and effort to ensuring that every client/member has a positive experience!

I've always been terrified of taking big steps. I've done casual sessions at box gyms, I dabbled in Crossfit, and I've bought home fitness equipment to avoid taking bigger measures. Nothing worked. Then I met Matt Daciw of Titan Training and the Wreckroom, Kitchener. I'll be honest, sure, I was intimidated. My mind always got in the way of what I was actually capable of. It was Matt that helped me overcome those hurdles. After only a few sessions, I was feeling stronger and lighter. One month in, I had lost 13lbs. I could touch my toes, something I haven't done in decades. But that's nothing compared to the mental conditioning Matt help me with. He made me believe in myself again, that nothing could hold me back, and whatever I wanted was there to be taken! I haven't felt this good in 20 years, and it's all because of Matt and the Wreckroom. Best thing I've ever done! More...

7/5. There are so many positive things i would like to say about this gym, but I will keep it to the big three.

1. Absolutely amazing atmosphere:
This is not a big box gym, upon entering there is a distinctly established vibe as a home away from home. After only one workout here, I can see and feel the communal and familial vibe of this facility. As they state: 'stronger together than alone'

2. Amazing staff:
Ask them anything, they are open to questions and will no doubt tell you a little about themselves as well as provide you with a little bit of assistance.

3. Absolute plethora of equipment:
Looks can be deceiving, while it may appear small, there is still plenty to use. After opening to the public last September there is at least 4 or 5 squat racks as well as a prowler sled and a boxing area.

Honestly the best experience I've had entering a gym and I am excited to see the future success in this gym.

Thank you Matt, Luke, Derek and Rachel for the fulfilling experience, see you guys in the weight room!

I don’t leave reviews often, but I think what they have created at the Wreckroom is pretty phenomenal. I’m approaching my 7th month here, and they really have made a fun, friendly, encouraging environment that keeps you coming back, even after a month break of travelling. I’ve seen the results in not just me, but in the other friendly faces that frequent the gym the same times I do. Don’t be afraid or intimidated to go; just give it a shot! I've been coming here since March. At the time I was just looking for a place that didn't suck. This is the first gym where I can walk in, say hi to the people I've run into here before, and the owners know who I and many other regulars are. The team atmosphere is definitely encouraged, especially on the board where people leave messages of encouragement. Once upon a time, I was athletic. Strong and determined, I never doubted my body's ability to do of it what I asked. Twenty one years of focusing on career, motherhood, and caring for a disabled parent - combined with aging, myself - changed all of that. By this spring, I felt heavy both physically and spiritually. I was perpetually exhausted, achey, and uncomfortable in my skin. The parent of elite athletes, I felt out of step with my children. Activities that I have loved (camping, hiking, gardening) felt beyond my reach. So, I went searching for a gym and I had some qualities in mind that were "must-haves."

I needed a place where I could work on myself without feeling watched, judged, or ridiculed. I needed a gym where I would find meaningful AND affordable support. I needed a gym where I could feel inspired and motivated by those around me without feeling that their results were unattainable to me. I needed a place where I could pay monthly rather than locking into a year or years long contract. I also wanted to be able to bring my kids into the gym. Monthly contracts would mean that my son and daughter, who play university sports in the U.S., could join the gym over the summer without me having to buy them out of costly contracts when they return to school in the fall.

Enter: The WreckRoom!

This gym is unique and exactly what I needed. Located in a reclaimed industrial space, The Wreck Room is all about positivity. Like other gyms, it is filled with twenty and thirty-somethings who rock the equipment. But unlike other gyms, everyone at the Wreck Room - from the owners and trainers to the members - is upbeat, kind, and positive. The bootcamps are a great place both for folks like me who are trying to get back into shape as well as for those who are maintaining and enhancing their athleticism.

The equipment in this gym is plentiful and well maintained. Parts of the facility are still under construction, but this is a locally owned facility and every time you go, you can see the place and vision of its possibilities taking shape. This will never be the fancy chain gym you join in order to tell everyone you're a member or where you go to be seen. The WreckRoom is a gym for folks who are happy to be getting and staying in shape, who are accepting of themselves and others, and who take pleasure in supporting one another.

The WreckRoom hit all of the "must-haves" on my list. I joined in early May and have lost fifteen pounds. I've been able to work out with my kids, enjoying their knowledge and ability, while I develop my own. The folks I've met are fantastic and the support I've gotten from Derek and the kindness from other trainers is second to none in my experience. This is a fantastic alternative to the corporate gyms in the K-W region, offering a positive, supportive, as well as challenging environment in which to set your own goals and work to meet them.

I started going to boot camp in September! I loved it so much, the environment and people made me feel like I could work out without judgement. Derek Colvin was instructing the class, his calm encouraging nature provided me with the confidence to push further. I suggest you take a moment to check them out, the express boot camp is a great starter for those on the go! A half hour out of your day.

I started personal training with Derek, his direction to correct posture to get the most out of every work out left me feeling accomplished but sore! I can't wait for our next session!

This gym has welcomed me into its family! And I can't thank them enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What an AWESOME place to train! My fiancé and I both train here and the reason we love this place so much is because 1) They always have awesome and loud music to pump us up, but 2) the environment is absolutely positive beyond measures. As a business, they truly value building a positive community with friendly and positive attitudes. Upon entering, someone is always there to greet you which to me, defines quality service. Been going here about a year now. The place is always improving and shows no sign of slowing. My favourite part was that you could just sign up and use the equipment without them forcing a sit down with a trainer to talk about personal goals (cough good life cough). But the trainers are very friendly and super knowledgeable and will answer any questions without a hint of sales pressure. They also know their stuff so if you wanted a trainer (just look at other reviews) this would still be place to go. It feels like everyone knows each other (well they do). Like the "Cheers" of gyms - Luke is probably Norm - except very in shape :P....Oh and did I mention the giant monkey bars rig you'll find no where else Olympic rings and all?
