Thanks to all the volunteers at the Witham yesterday and to Santa for making it a very enjoyable day for us all. Santa was great with the kids, very engaging and handled an inquisitive 2yo perfectly.

tonight was my first visit to the Witham for a concert and I was very impressed. The building is lovely and it's a perfect music venue. The evening was very well organised. I will definitely visit again. More...

The variety of events going on means there is bound to be something for you to enjoy, whether it is the classes, the shop the exhibitions or the events in the main hall. Even sitting in the cafe reminding myself how ugly and unwelcoming the space used to to be is enjoyable. Perhaps there are some photos to share of those dark days for people who never saw it. More...

Went to see the rather brilliant Sam Carter at the Witham in Barnard Castle tonight -- his command of fingerstyle playing using varied tunings and capo combinations is consummate. A really nice concert (too short) of old stuff interspersed with new stuff he's compiling for his new album, and mixed with some really humorous chat, in a nice, informal performance space, which was really well sound-engineered and balanced by the resident Witham techy dude.made for an enjoyable evening out. The Ady Johnson gig didn't sell enough tickets for the main hall so it was moved to the smaller hall upstairs. It was brilliant. It was like a live lounge session. We had a great time with lovely friends and thoroughly enjoyed Ady and the support act, Barnards Castles very own Andy and Moray. More...

The acts we are treated to at the Witham is brilliant. Definitely punching above their weight for a venue. I’ve been treated to John Bishop, Jason Cook, Glen Roughouse and Jenni Eclair in the last year practically on my doorstep. Only negative the unallocated seating so I normally end up in the gods. Head Wrap Diaries last night were brilliant - another fantastic event with great interaction with dancers/actors and attendees learning how to “head wrap”. So lucky to have this gem of an art centre in Barnard Castle - great programme and it’s always developing into something better every season! Love it!! More...
