The White Horse Inn

We love visiting The White Horse. So quaint and welcoming with really helpful and friendly staff. We have stayed in the modern and well appointed rooms twice, some have copper roll top baths and two have outdoor hot tubs. Its in a remote but idyllic place, nestled in a green valley with all sorts of birds to see and hear. There is plenty of parking and space for outdoor eating/drinking on the sunny terrace. We have yet to eat dinner in the restaurant but the menu looks varied and delicious and the wine list caters for all tastes and budgets. Our stay package included cream tea on arrival which was delicious and breakfast - you could choose from continental self service or hot cooked breakfast - with a good range of eggs - Benedict, royale etc. We can't wait to go back again, it's a real find and we intend to make regular visits.
Oh and there is a very nice wine merchants next door, pop in once you've loaded the cases in the car! More...

From arrival to departure our stay at The White Horse was a blisses out dream come true. Our room (the rabbit room) was well appointed and private and the staff were friendly and accommodating at all turns.

A fabulous place for relaxation. Gorgeous good food . Welcoming and helpful staff. We had a room with a hot tub. Beautiful especially at night clear night watching the stars. We will return.

Arrived just as dinner service started tonight (Monday), full menu across bar and restaurant with specials also available. The house burger was very nice, OH had the risotto which was also very good. Desserts were sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream, lemon cheesecake with black cherry ice cream. Food was excellent, service very good. I agree that only downside was auto service charge but maybe I missed that on the menu Slightly expensive but then I did have a large glass of merlot. Nice touches were the free flavoured water on the bar and nice hand creams in the ladies bathroom. Well worth a visit. More...

My Husband and I stayed at the White Horse on the weekend of father's day , it was a celebration of his birthday and our wedding anniversary, we stayed in the VIP room with a private hot tub , the whole experience was excellent, we were well looked after , the room was luxurious and the dinner and breakfast was faultless, we would definitely stay again . Well done to all the lovely staff .

Fabulous food, excellent choice of drinks, friendly service and a lovely setting.
We've had several lunches and dinners here for a variety of occasions, birthdays etc - we also had the chance to stay overnight for New Year - the accommodation is great and breakfast was good.
They have an excellent fire indoor and outdoor - you won't want to leave. More...
