We love the Westin Ottawa for its location and the beds are super comfortable. Even though there were half a dozen parties going on, the staff accommodated us to a higher floor away from the noise. Our only complaint this time was that the room cleanliness was lacking. The coffee wasn't restocked after the previous guest and the old grounds were still left in the coffee maker. All around the perimeter of the room was a layer of dust on the carpet, so it was evident the room hadn't been vacuumed in a while. Really too bad because this hotel is otherwise quite nice. More...

Stayed at The Westin Ottawa in December 2019. It was my first stay at this property, as well as in Ottawa. Nice location, friendly staff. Covered parking is handy, and easy access to adjacent properties. Good restaurants on the property. Location-wise, cannot be any better. Maybe just my room, but it gave the impression that it’s slightly dated. Maybe wall paper? Or carpet? But that’s really nitpicking. Overall, a very nice stay and I am sure I will come back. More...

Stayed at this location for a conference. During check in, many of the rooms were assigned incorrectly. While trying to go down the escalators to the main floor to fix the issue, one staff person berated a small group for accessing the escalators, because another group booking was going to be using that area later (they were not there at the time). He was very condescending and unprofessional. ||||The rooms were clean and well maintained and the large bathrooms were lovely. ||The pool was very small - couldn't swim laps once four or more people were using the pool. The layout of the pool/gym area is strange. There is no access directly to the pool from the women's change room. ||||The food served during meals at the conference was great. Although, during the lunch buffet the vegetarian main course was not initially placed on the special diet table. I was able to find it on the regular table. However, I did hear one guest ask where it was, and she was belittled by a staff person, who said "it's on the special diet table, can't you see it?" quite rudely. I heard this staff person muttering unkind comments under her breath several times during that meal. I imagine she was having a busy, stressful day, but that's not an excuse. Say those things in a staff only area if you need to get them off your chest. ||||I must note, the server my table had during the seated dinner was superb. He was friendly and courteous and deserving of a special note of thanks!||||The location of the hotel is great - a quick walk from Parliament and connected to the CF Rideau Centre. More...

We had two nights at the Ottawa Westin, the proximity to downtown was excellent, everything about the hotel made our two nights a very positive experience. The staff was wonderful and my niece who is from Australia found the friendliness of the staff and everyone in the hotel refreshing. The attachment to the Rideau Center shopping made for a great winter experience as we could shop without wearing heavy coats and boots, a real plus. Overall a great experience, we will be back. I was attending the Westin for a convention and stayed the last night to be able to relax after a long hard week working on my feet. The staff was able to get me into my room earlier than expected and I was able to rest my feet as soon as the convention was over. I was so comfortable that I even debated missing the Gala that was to be held that night just to stay in and relax. After returning early enough in the evening, we ordered food from a nearby place and spent the rest of the night relaxing and watching TV. With a noon check-out time, I was able to relax and take my time packing up and ordered breakfast. I was quite disappointed with the quality of breakfast, especially for the price of food at the hotel. Some hotels are a little over-priced but at least offer a high quality of food. I was let down on my food and did not finish what I had ordered. Aside from the food as there are many restaurants within walking distance, I would recommend the Westin for its comfort, convenience and very friendly helpful staff. Great place for a staycation. One of the crown jewels of the Ritz-Carlton collection, in my judgment. Our firepit terrace room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom, wonderful patio and a large firepit that the staff lit every evening at sundown. The Street Fare restaurant was outstanding for both breakfast and dinner, with a tremendous patio. Breathtaking views over the valley from the rear vistas of the hotel. This is a very nice property secluded in the California desert. Views of Palm Springs. Lots of fire pits. All the the landscaping is perfectly manicured with every attention to detail. The staff was very, very friendly at every point in our stay, ensuring everything was just right. The spa was relaxing and treatments very nice. For the second year in a row I took my best friend to breakfast in the Pentagon City Ritz dining room to celebrate her birthday and the holidays. The room was beautifully decorated and it was easy to hear each other speak. Nice fire in the fireplace too. ||||The service was pleasant and patient. This was good as my friend wanted to change the way some of the food was served. I had the blue berry pancakes, so light and delicious. My friend enjoyed the oatmeal. We chose this hotel for it's proximity to the Pentagon and meetings that were within walking distance. They also had a fantastic government rate. Upon checking in we had just finished a lyft ride that took 2 hours from BWI. That only happend because of a horrible lyft driver that should not be driving the streets. Reason for the background is upon arrival we were frustrated, exhausted after flying cross country and the front desk personnel were sympathetic. In fact, they were so kind to offer a glass of champagne which we readily accepted. ||They took us out of our state of frustration and quickly eased our mood. In fact, Dounia even sent up to our room a complimentary bottle of chardonnay and an elaborate tray of snacks. We were blown away at her hospitality. We told her that we would be staying at the Ritz Carlton Maui and apparently she took note, remembered and provided us with another complimentary bottle of chardonnay for that trip. ||As for this particular Ritz, we will definitely be returning. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms excellent and the location is great right next to the mall and metro. I love that Ritz is now part of the Marriott Bonvoy group. More...

At the Westin you are conveniently located in downtown Ottawa. Easy walking to the Market, Elgin Street, Rideau Centre, NAC & Parliament Hill, to mention a few. This is a very comfortable hotel with friendly & professional staff. Underground parking is appreciated. The Westin is attached to the Rideau Centre so extremely convenient for shopping, not to mention access to the new LRT system. Great WiFi, delicious food & wine in the Shore Club bar & lounge.
