Polite staff and a nice place to stay. The room was more than adequate and the service very professional. Although I've seen a number of less favorable reviews, I would have to say that my visit did not have any negatives.

Excellent mood to the bar, love the interior - very stylish. Lovely tea off a good menu served by nice staff. Perfect place for a chat. I will be going back.

This is a slightly eccentric hotel/restaurant. I have stayed here and eaten here and I really like the attempt and skill with which the owners try to change the experience of the visitor. Slightly understated class - like the decor but the atmosphere is young and contemporary. More...

We took a room for two nights in The Walton Hotel, and were captivated by the original decor, and the warm comfy beds. We didn't have breakfast, we don't do that. We did sleep in till 11 am however in a bed that was so comfy, I would have happily stayed all day.
I apologised to the receptionist and did not expect the room to be redone but it was to our delight.
En-suit bathroom was great but, you have to be careful not to slip when wet!
I got a good deal on the room, at £80 a night too...
Well worth going and we will be going again.

Really nice stay and good bedrooms, shower a little wayward but didn't detract from an otherwise lovely weekend.
Didn't appreciate arriving 40 mins early (after a long train journey) and being told that there was a £10 early access fee to the bedroom. Cheap shot.

Enthusiastic and funny staff with s great room and an exceptional bed.
Only downside was the man walking past singing kryptonite by three doors down at 8 in the morning.
I would highly recommend.

Whilst the hotel was lovely, the rooms were clean and staff very pleasant and helpful, I felt it was a bit overpriced, at nearly £100 for my room and over £100 for my daughter's room not including breakfast. . I stayed with my daughter and she had a separate room in another part of the hotel. (The Lodge). Her night's sleep was disturbed repeatedly by crowds of people coming and going at 3am, then 5am, then apparently they all got up again at 7am and were noisy on leaving. This would prevent me from staying there in the future, or at least I would make sure I was not in The Lodge. More...

I must admit that we won a nights stay at the Walton Hotel along with tickets to see Collabro in concert. We were treated as VIP guests from the get go. The staff were some of the most friendly and helpful that I have come across in many years of hotel use. The building itself being an old hunting lodge, was full of character and charm whilst providing excellent amenities looked for in a modern town hotel. The food was excellent with a great range of choice available. In short, if you are looking for a quality and friendly hotel to stay at in Nottingham then I would heartily recommend the Walton Hotel, I for one hope to return in the future, for a longer stay! Love this hotel, and always try and stay when in Nottingham. We had a great room but this time a few little niggles -
Only one coffee pod in room but coffee machine didn't work anyway. I told the guy on reception when checking out and he just said that nobody uses the coffee machines anyway.
Room was not as spotless as usual, toilet flush didn't work very well, seems to have been a change in staff and definitely something lacking - couldn't quite put my finger on what it was.
Will most likely be back however.

Beautiful cosy hotel with a warm atmosphere. First night fantastic service and delicious food. We arrived late, 21.50 yet staff were happy to accommodate and we enjoyed a needed delicious meal.
Room was great, needs a little updating and fixing but nothing that ruined the stay.
Tea coffee water etc in room were not replaced after first night although room was tidied.
We didn't ask as the staff were already far too busy.
Second night a function was being held, service was poor with drinks and food due to lack of staff who were all trying their best - holding the function disrupted the service and standard for other guests. We had very long wait for food and drinks and no staff were around to ask. Room was very noisy this night with music and being above a door that kept banging - ruined the whole experience unfortunately. Fantastic Friday night and poor Saturday night.
My daughter is at Uni and I live abroad so was hoping to stay every few months. I will give it another try as was saddened by the experience on Saturday with the function. I'm due back in November. Hoping it was a one off. Advice would be to employ more staff in busy function nights and watch out for rooms above that area.

On arrival was welomed by staff, hotel felt warm and inviting, everything was explained with good communication.
When we went to our room we couldn't of expected any better, it was amazing the bathroom had a full length bath and a full lenght shower.
Bedding white crisp and clean.
Comfortable bed.

All in all our stay at the Walton was a pleasant and peaceful experience.

We will be back again.

Absolutely beautiful hotel!
I stayed in the Hamilton Suite which was gorgeous.
Very helpful, friendly man at reception who saw me up to the room. ...don't know his name!
I did not use the bar and restaurant.
The bathroom is so beautiful, that I think if I stay at The Walton again, I would spend my whole stay in the bathroom!!!

I would definitely stay at The Walton again.

This is an oasis in the middle of Nottingham. Lovely Georgian buildings with a beautifully furnished and decorated interior; and the evening meal was lovely (I had moules).
George who took my bags to my room and showed me round is a delight! Very amusing - he should be on telly.
The room itself- which was in one of the buildings across the alley from the hotel- was huge and well appointed with a very comfy bed and gorgeous bathroom.

All though we only stayed one night, it was very nice and the room was beautiful and clean. The hostess when we arrived was really friendly and helpful. we would have preferred to stay in the main building but the annex was very lovely. More...

As usual had a great stay, loved my room which was super comfy. I have stayed at this hotel on countless occasions, I don't go anywhere else in Nottingham. It has a unique vibe, traditional yet really nice. Has a relaxed atmosphere and the staff are very nice.

Loved my dinner, had the chicken and bacon dish. The terrace outside is excellent, and love the little bungalows to.

A high end pub which did not loose it's character. The nice large terrace is a treat and the inside rooms are nicely decorated and furnished so to make this a very enjoyable experience. Food is basic but well prepared and nicely served. Small selection of draft beer including three ales. Nice list of gin with a good selection from more mainstream to craft bottles. More...

The Walton was in a great location for us and had lots of character. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet and the bed / pillows very comfortable. Our room had a fridge and iron / board as well as the usual hair dryer, tea / coffee making facilities (but no biscuits) etc.
We didn't dine there, but breakfast was very good albeit a bit slow.
The hotel does need a lot of work though. Our wash basin was cracked, the shower hose needed replacing, the ceiling looked like it was going to fall down soon and generally the hotel looked a bit tired / run down. Not what I'd expect for £125 a night for the room only.

Had a great night at The Walton. The hotel was great and the staff very eager to please. I got a great room in an adjoining house. Particularly happy about the bathroom which had very high standard. The bar in the first floor had lots of young visitors, and the only thing I regretted was that I had no time to visit it during my stay. For some reason it took forever to get a cab both times it was ordered, so that is something the hotel can look into. Maybe set up a better deal with one of the companies, or maybe I was just very unlucky. Can recommend the hotel - and will make sure to revisit on my next trip to Nottingham. More...
