WOMEN IN ASSEMBLY by Aristophanes - The wife and I just got back from the Friday night show - It's Lysistrata meets Hercules meets The Pointer Sisters ; ) The WOMEN get to run Ancient Greece ! ! - Hilarious show full of well delivered over-the-top performances by a truly dedicated ensemble. Proof positive that a sharp cast can elevate a good script into a hilarious showcase of variety and talent.. Carnal and completely inappropriate insinuations diced with sarcasm and a DASH of misandry - all scored to exhilarated and wonderfully delivered 80's "Glory-Rock" in harmony. (it's ALL in the delivery) The body language alone was worth the price of admission. This show will have you cracking up as it did the rest of us - Come unwind and enjoy a really fun unstuffy comedy that takes a stab at establishment with brilliantly over-delivered characters. Don't miss the current DISCO version of the Importance of Being Ernest. It was so cleverly done. Don't remember the last time I was so hysterical. I can personally recommend Thinking Cap. I am a regular theatre-goer, and every Thinking Cap production I’ve seen has been wonderful—funny and sad at turns, and deeply thought-provoking. TCT has my highest recommendation.
