I've been taking my dogs here to get their nails filed for some time now. The staff is very friendly and professional. They are very patient with dogs that are very anxious, and I have one of those! I was dog-watching a 13 year old toy poodle named Biscuit and decided to spoil him before his owners returned for him. Brought him here where he got the works - pawdicure, teeth brushing, wash and cut, and a green mohawk for some creativity! They did a wonderful job and cost was actually pretty similar to the deluxe packages at petsmart. All the stylists knew their regular customers and pets by name and it was a very welcoming atmosphere. Biscuit seemed to like it more than Petsmart. =) He came out looking fluffy with fabulous paws, and it was nice to find a place to be able to do some creative stuff like colored fur and mohawk. We have a 170lb Great Dane that hates getting his nails cut. He has caused quite a stir whenever we go in there. He bends the pole his leash is attached to all the way to the ground. He fights tooth and nail to get away. But every time, they stick it out and get his nails done. The Upscale Tail is hands down the best groomer I have ever taken my sweet little pup to. They are also the only groomer I’ve ever been loyal to. After our first visit, I knew we’d finally found our place. This was after years of trying other groomers. The groomers are extremely sweet and attentive with my pup, and they do an amazing job. She is so soft in between visits and smells beautiful. I love being in there because of how friendly, yet professional everyone is...the girls at the front desk, the groomers and the owner. When Formosa closed abruptly because of the owners health reasons I had to find somewhere for my mini schnauzer to get groomed. I don't put a price on quality, in fact for the service that is rendered here I would gladly pay more. My dog is usually EXTREMELY anxious. They go out of there way to make sure that he has the first appointment of the day and he comes out looking in show dog condition. They go over services and how he has been each time and we are there we go over new things he may or may not benefit from. This place is amazing. In fact, amazing doesn't feel like strong enough of a word. Everyone here cares about what they do, and the pets they see. I am a very nervous person, and leaving my pet at a groomer used to leave me worried for hours until I could pick them up. Not here. I am able to drop my dog off with ease knowing she's in good hands. My dog is also blind, and they do a great job of making her comfortable. As far as the price goes, they are giving my dog a haircut, manicure, pedicure and even expressing her anal glands. I know my haircut, manicure and pedicure is more than double what they charge...and I don't nip at my hairdresser or pee on her :) In all honestly, I feel happy to have found them. I trust them, and my dog is comfortable here.  They are very nice, and the facility is modern and clean. I was really nervous about taking my chug to get his nails clipped... I adopted him under a year ago and he's more often than not aggressive towards people he doesn't know. I took him to The Upscale Tail after reading some of the other reviews and I was amazed. Not only was the staff super understanding and respectful but they have helped me work through it and socialize him. They put me at ease and it was awesome seeing how well Bruce responded to them after only the first minute or so. Bruce has loved his couple of meet and greets (because treats duh) AND he even let Kendra trim his nails his first time meeting her. His behavior leaves me shocked and inspired to see his potential, that I would not have expected was in the cards for him without the help of these wonderful caring ladies. By far the best groomers I've taken my Pomeranian to. Kendra who owns and grooms my dog Hoku has been doing a great job to get Hoku looking beautiful and smelling so nice. She is also an award winning groomer. I've tried 5 different groomers that weren't what I preferred. They still are good groomers as far as I know, just not for Hoku. Upscale Groomers keeps their shop very clean!  We are a pet therapy team at Edwards hospital and are required to have our dogs bathed at least 24 hour before visiting patients. Everyone comments on Hokus shiny fur and beautiful cut   They love her smell which is not overwhelming for patients. I highly recommend them!! More...

I think this place is either locally or nationally recognized. Went to a place a few weeks prior that was nice to my dog but did not know how to groom a Newfy. They recognized her, her special grooming needs, and appreciated her idiotic personality. Be prepared to pay a little extra for getting a lot extra for your dog. Its like paying 120% of a normal grooming rate and getting about 300% of the job so its very worth it if you have a special dog. More...

My first review for yelp. Want to say something for their nice work.I'm a little allergic with my cat's hair so thinking about taking him to haircut. I lived in Westmont, however nearby Petsmart & pet plus didn't have cat grooming. Feel sad and reserved for Upscale Tail which  was 2 0 min driving from my house.I came at the right time and their are very nice to confirm all the information (pronunciation) for Qiuqiu. They told me will call me back in 4-5 hours and they finished grooming for only 3 hours.My cat looks "pretty" and clean with haircut, shower and nail cut. Much better than my expectation! Still a fan. They do a great job with our two dogs. They groomed our brand new rescue 2 weeks after we got her without us knowing exactly how she would react (she came from an abuse/negligent situation). Their confidence in being able to navigate a potentially stressful situation for my new fur-baby was quite reassuring. Come to find out Luna was a breeze which is great since we already know our golden mix is not! I knocked down a star because I was informed that they thought my golden and a yeast infection and that she refused to stand up during her grooming. I have no issue with being informed of these things and I do appreciate the concern about potential yeast infections (Lilly has suffered allergies and extreme yeast infections along time). I was skeptical that she had a yeast infection because I check her entire body almost everyday, but I did take her to the vet anyway because there were some other issues that needed to be discussed with the vet anyway. In the end, there was no yeast infection. On the second issue, I was bothered that I was just told "she wouldn't stand up during grooming", but I got nothing more than this. She is 8 years old, has always had issues with people touching her butt, legs and feet. She has been groomed 2-3 times a year since summer 2015 here and I thought her issues were known/written on her little information card. I am just disappointed that no further communication on why I was being given this information was done. They had a lot of people there to pick up dogs and the lady checking me out (who I don't think was even the lady that groomed Lilly as someone yelled out-- "read the notes to Lilly's mom") seemed rushed and this made it uncomfortable for me to continue asking questions. All in all, I will continue bringing both of my dogs to this establishment even though they are now far away from us. They continue to be the ONLY dog groomers that will take the time with a fearful dog. More...

We took our dog here for the first time yesterday. Let me start off by saying one of the best experiences I have had with my pup at a groomer. I loved that the groomer came out to discuss what I wanted done. Then when we came to pick him up it was apparent that he really loved the groomer. It's a great feeling to hear that the groomer loves your dog. I also loved that they let him run around and get belly rubs from everyone. It's comforting knowing when I bring my dog here he is being loved just as much at home. He also looks adorable! They do a very good job, so I definitely recommend trying them.There is only 1 thing that you should know, which bothered me a bit.  I dropped my dogs off an hour early and they said they were going to charge me $10 per dog per hour.I was pretty upset, but I really didn't know.  They ended up not charging me, but it's important for you to know.Otherwise they have a lot of groomers and grooming tables.  They seem clean, and nice. By far the best groomer for my Pomeranian. I've been to several other groomers and while they were okay I still wasn't satisfied. Finally decided to try Upscale Tail and I'm so happy that my search is over!  Kendra grooms my Pom named Hoku every two weeks.She gets her bath,fur groomed, nails filed,ears and teeth cleaned sometimes their spa treatments they offer. We are pet therapy team at Edwards Hospital and all dogs need to be groomed at least 24 hours before our shift. Everyone always comments on how beautiful and how nice she smells!! I brought my dogs here for a nail trim a few months ago and was completely blown away by the customer service. One of my dogs can be a little fearful, and is especially unhappy when it comes to having his nails trimmed. They were AMAZING. They let him calm down in their little lobby area before bringing him back, and soothed him the whole time. He came out wagging his tail! His brother is a bit more confident, but they took equally great care of him, too. They chatted with us as I nervously awaited their return, and treated everyone who walked through the door like an old friend. So glad I found Upscale Tail. I was taking my cat Ozzie to a place and they closed. I took him for a sanitary trim and he was matted on his back because his hair is so long and he wouldn't let me brush him so Daniele did a lions cut on him. Last minute I needed to find a place for my dog. She needed a bath since she rolled (again!!) in Fox pee. Yep! Good old Golden doodle has done it again. Not sure why dogs do this but they do! Anyways, I called and made an appointment. Talked to Birdie! She was very nice to talked to and she was able to fit me in the day I called. I didn't want a full groom. Just a bath and brush out to get rid of this horrible smell. It smells like skunk and burnt rubber. Just in case you never smelled fox pee ever.. instead of my neighbor being on top of my yard, there is a creek that separates our yards. I brought my Golden doodle in. Birdie took my information and then took Lucy, my Golden-doodle. She let me know how long it was going to be. I was okay with 3-4 hours. I was just thankful that they fit me in on such short notice. Birdie & the groomer (sorry, forgot her name!) was very helpful in helping me out. Lucy has food and environmental allergies. They asked me if it was okay to try one of their shampoo mixes to help get out the smell. I said it was fine. When I picked up Lucy she smelled wonderful and she looked great. I do recommend the UpScale Tail to anyone. Very professional, great job on the dog baths, friendly and pricing was pretty good. My dog has been here 4 times now and she always comes out happy, looking good, and smelling great. I definitely would recommend the blueberry bubble bath because she smells way better when they use that over the standard stuff. They make the Aussies look amazing and are the only grooming place that will work woth them because the Aussies are crazy and neurotic. I was told they specialize in crazy dogs and their work is amazing. While the dogs aren't happy getting groomed I know deep down inside they love it. This place is great for quick nail trims/files for my bulldog. I walk in without an appointment and the girls are always very friendly and quick, even when there are several people in their waiting room. My only complaint was when he had a full grooming and extra de-shedding treatment, it got pretty pricey and really did nothing for his shedding. But sometimes I feel like nothing will cure the crazy bulldog shedding so at least they tried. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend! More...

I have been taking my Teddy Bear pup Rocco here since he was six weeks old. He is now 8 months!  This is not only an outstanding business, but it is run extremely well. The owner, Kendra, is super passionate and treats every dog as if he or she is her own.  The rest of the staff is this way as well. Chalie has been Rocco's groomer since the beginning, and she is nothing short of amazing! Rocco can be super manipulative, and is still nippy depending on his mood, but he always comes out looking perfect. And More importantly, he is treated the way he should be. If you are a new pet owner or ever have any questions, they know everything to help you out! I was reading some of the reviews below me.. One talked about them not answering the phone? Maybe, before writing a review, you should let them inform you that two salons have closed down in an extremely short period of time and most have been referred to Upscale!
