I started at the Strength Code with my trainer Joseph back in 2014 and was amazed at the workout hack for a half hour of training every week. I was more toned than I have been since college within 3 months. My husband Andy was so impressed and grateful:) that he joined a year later and now it is our weekly ritual together. If you hate wasting hours on a treadmill or bike and just don't have hours every week to spend at the gym like me, this is the workout for you. More...

I bought a groupon, and had my first appointment at The Strength Code in Toluca Lake.   I give it 5 stars because I felt that I was given a wonderful and through orientation by Joseph.  He explained everything I was doing and why, and he made sure I was using the correct form on all machines.   Additionally, he answered all my questions, and further explained when I didn't understand the first time.   I enjoyed trying the equipment and JOSEPH was very nice and personable.  Also, He made me feel very comfortable.  He took his time with me and I did not feel rushed.  I left feeling very satisfied with the entire experience. I can't wait for my next appointment! More...

The workout protocol and the trainers at The Strength Code make the perfect combination for me as I get on in years. I’ve been doing Super Slow for about 15 years now and was so excited to find this facility so close to home here in Burbank! I’m recently trying out the newest piece of equipment that better supports bone health through static holds. It’s just as tough as the original regimen and leaves me needing plenty of recovery time after about 10-15 minutes. Give it a try - you’ll never regret it! More...

FINALLY I have a place to tone up and lose fat that doesn't take up all of my time or make me exhausted. I am not a "go to the gym" kind of person but the intimacy of the one-on-one trainer experience at the Strength Code is awesome. I feel 100% supported by my amazing trainer, Wendy, who understands my body and has actually helped reduce my back pain since working out with her. I've also worked with Sheila who is awesome. My husband works out with Ann. The entire team of trainers are the most professional, attentive and supportive group of people. AND it's only once a week (or twice if you're super motivated). If you hate working out but want to tone up and slim down this is your place. More...

I have been a client of yours for almost two years now, and the main reason I gave the top score was because of the fact that your workouts system is suited perfectly for a busy guy like myself. I have had a long break from my workout days since I became a business owner a few years ago, and free time became a big problem. I was looking to get back into the grove, but I was not successful until I discovered your gym. Great system of the workouts for busy people like myself, and friendly atmosphere 5 for each, total 10 ) Keep it up More...

I was at first skeptical that working out a half hour a week could really make a difference ..but to my amazement and surprise it really does!   I have been working out with Sheila and her team for over 6 years, weekly, and it has made an amazing difference both physically as well as my mental state of being.   They truly care about each client and customize a training regimen unique to each person.  I recommend them without hesitation.  Kudos for a job well done! OK, I was a skeptic. I listened to the explanation of why you only need a brief session once a week and thought "yeah, sure". But, I'd scored a Groupon and knew I'd finish the 6 sessions I bought and then move on to the next new thing.

So I thought it was all in my head when it seemed like my muscles were firmer after the first session. Maybe it was. But it's not in my head that I've dropped TWO jeans sizes in 6 weeks!!! I am sold!

The place is so clean and comfortable. Sheila is incredibly warm and welcoming, and there is no pressure at all to buy. Jon pushes me to achieve so much more than I thought was possible. In fact, today - at my 6th session - I joined the 200 lb. leg press club! He does this with an evil little giggle. I love the fact that he gets me laughing when I'm close to tears.

You know the weird thing? Even weirder than the fact that this is working? In spite of all the pain - and yes, it is painful - I can' wait to get back in there and see what I can do the next time! This is the best!

This is such a fantastic gym. The trainers here really care about who you are and what you're trying to accomplish. Ann really knows her stuff - she can tell you about anatomy, the difference between this and other workout methods and more. Overall, everyone here is fantastic. I cannot believe I am lifting weights and enjoying it. I thought this activity was only for meatheads. I LOVE THIS GYM. Get off your computer and go there now! I am noticing many more benefits than just increased muscle mass, stamina, strength and vitality. I also feel more alert, energized throughout the day and honestly just happier for no reason. I love the nonchalance and chill vibe in there, very supportive for first time weight training and people of all ages, sizes, etc. The trainers are real people, not Barbie and Ken plastic people, who know that this method works to get you strong. Inform fitness is a workout like I have never experienced. I have played football and have done many online workout programs and I have never felt a burn like I experienced in this short 30 min workout regimen. Another crazy thing is that the workout and the burn I experienced produced no sweat. All my muscles were brought to failure and I was still able to go out and eat without feeling sweaty and stinky. The gym was also very clean and didn't smell like a gym. If you are looking for a quick work out to do during your lunch or right before you get home this is the place you need to be. I bought a Groupon for four classes at InForm Fitness due to the fact it was in my neighborhood.  I had watched a video so I knew a little about it going in.  My instructor,Joe, was a pleasure to work with and I was challenged every time I went as he added more weight at every class.  Joe said I had gotten further quickly since I was already proactive on my own regarding my fitness.  I was pleased with his comments about my abilities.  Sadly at this time I have to look for something a little more in my price range but that doesn't mean I have closed the door at returning to InForm Fitness. I have been dreaming of a workout like this. I have had a lot of neck pain and I knew it was due to lack of core strength. I wanted a workout that would help me get deep into my core and free my neck. I did my first workout yesterday with Jon. It released 80% of my neck pain. This workout seems to me to be essential, before any other exercise, this practice gives the body the essential balance and strength. I completely understand the principle behind theses movements and that a once a week workout is perfect for the muscles to complete their job but, I have to say, I would love to do it more because, it feels so good. Can't wait for my next session. Pure genius. I would and I am sharing the exciting news about Inform with everyone. Honestly, I can't say enough!! Thank you, Linda Kammins More...

Please do yourself a favor and try this workout.  I admit I was skeptical about a workout that you can only do once a week for less than 30 minutes but this really, really works.  I am a busy person and don't have hours to spend exercising so I love the efficiency of this workout.  As a woman of a certain age, ahem, I started to feel my overall strength flagging.  Now that this super slow weight training is a regular part of my life, I have not only regained my strength very quickly but I feel stronger and have better endurance than I have years. One thing I couldn't wrap my head around is that I can lift very heavy weights, without warming up and not be sore the next day.  I know, it sounds too good to be true.  The folks at Inform will be happy to explain the science behind this or you can research the benefits of high intensity workouts.  I really recommend Inform Fitness for super slow weight training.  The trainers there are very detail oriented, track your progress and will not let you hurt yourself.  My workouts at Inform Fitness remain high priority! I was a bit skeptical at first when my wife told me she had found a new 'gym' she wanted us to try. When I think 'gym' I think of a crowded smelly place where people go to pick up on each other. InForm Fitness was definitely not that!

It's clean, quiet, and very welcoming. I have a weekly 1 on 1 session with my trainer Joe who is very friendly and knowledgeable. In fact the entire staff are very nice people with a passion for fitness.

I've been going for almost a year now and have noticed I'm much stronger, have more endurance/stamina and feel much more fit overall. I would definitely recommend InForm Fitness Toluca Lake to those who want a great personalized fitness routine without the typical 'gym' atmosphere.

I found out about Inform Fitness completely by accident and, shortly after that, my wife and I both joined. I have been lifting weights most of my adult life and I have been fortunate to train with experts. The Inform Fitness slow motion workout is perfect for busy people because the training is intense enough that most people will see great progress with only one short session per week. The machines are super high end, the trainers are very knowledgeable and the entire workout takes about 30 minutes or less. Believe me, you will leave knowing that you did some serious work! This is not a body building workout... It is strength training at its best. The result will be healthy, dense muscles. The studio is intimate, super clean and the staff will become your best friends! The ladies @ InForm Fitness are well trained at kicking your butt!A local destination without the madness of driving to a 24 Hour/Ballys,etc and have to deal with parking/waiting turns to get on machines and utilize weights. I am so addicted to this workout! I found myself getting stronger and more fit in just weeks - the progress makes you want to keep going back. In a few months I dropped two jeans sizes - without really losing any weight. Very cool!Jon is awesome! He really gets me to push myself beyond what I thought possible - while cracking me up! If I can't have some fun in a workout, I won't keep going back. He always makes it fun. But he pays such close attention to what's going on - he really knows his stuff and I know he's got my back. I have some issues and he always comes up with a workaround so I don't hurt myself.Sheila is great! What other place makes you chase after them so you can make a payment? She is so warm and friendly - love her!I feel like a family member here - sort of like my healthy version of Cheers - where everyone knows my name! I'm starting to fall in love with Inform Fitness! I'm the kind of person who was going to the gym, going on the elliptical for 30 minutes and the entire time, I was wishing it was over. It just wasn't fun for me and because of that, I had no motivation to go. One day, I decided I needed to get back in shape, lose weight and make sure I was doing exercise and I needed to find some way to do it which I wouldn't hate.I'm a groupon junkie and I did a lot of searches for gyms, trainers, etc. I needed some way to be held accountable for my working out. I found Inform Fitness and I was a little skeptical but I did all of my research on the Power of 10 and finally decided to give it a go. I bought a six session groupon and made an appointment for the following week. My first session/consultation was with Joe, who continues to be my trainer today. He's great! He's very knowledgeable and very adaptable on what you need for success. I'm not the kind of person who needs a trainer with a drill sergeant mentality, so he's never like that with me, but he knows how to keep pushing me to my full potential. He'll mention how I did the prior week and because I'm very competitive, that is motivation for me to try to do better this week. He's also involved in the training himself and has pictures to prove the results - which is also very motivating!Inform Fitness is by no means "easy." This method will kick your butt. But after being there for two months, in addition to maintaining good eating practices, I am definitely seeing results in terms of weight loss and having more strength and other people are as well! The great thing about Inform Fitness is that it's only one per week and it takes 20-30 minutes. As someone who dreaded going to the gym, this is a workout even I can maintain. I hated having to go to the gym 4-5x per week! So now, going only once per week and having to give 200% for 30 minutes really isn't asking too much! Even I can manage. I had previously said "I don't love this, but I definitely don't hate it!" And that was good enough for me to keep going even after my groupon ended. And now I might slightly be starting to love it!I'll admit - it is pricey! It would be cheaper to just get a local gym membership - like I used to have. But I never went, so my health definitely wasn't winning. It is pricey but it's definitely worth it - to commit to a training plan you can stick to and can become better and stronger from! I was a little concerned about the price after finishing the groupon but I was able to work out a payment plan with them to make sure I could afford it and keep coming! I'm not sure if there's a groupon still but if there is, try it out if you're unsure! I'm very happy here! More...

Got a groupon for this place and boy am I glad I did! I needed to get back into a routine and Jon (trainer) helped me do that. All the staff here is excellent! Sheila, the owner is so helpful, understanding and quick to respond to any questions or concerns you may have. Inform fitness has an unconventional approach to working out called the "failure technique" be prepared for an INTENSE workout...you'll only come once a week, but I promise you will see results in the amount you are able to lift during your next session. My groupon allowed 3 personal training sessions (those came and went) and now I have signed on for 6 months. Can't wait to see even more results after the next 24 sessions :-)   Give this place a go! What is the "Power of 10"?  It is slow motion, high-intensity exercise which is an incredibly efficient and safe method of weight training that you do once a week, for just twenty minutes.Yes, that's right.  ONCE A WEEK FOR TWENTY MINUTES! Cardio is great, but when it comes down to it, muscle is key to discriminate fat loss and building a stronger, healthier body.  What makes InForm Fitness different?  The facilities trainers are ALL Power of 10 certified and their machines are top notch!  These MedX and Nautilus machines are the "Rolls Royce" of exercise equipment...they provide smooth movements with no friction, giving you a maximum workout.  Before finding InForm Fitness, my friend Joseph Altamirano used to train me using the Power of 10 method at traditional gyms (meaning 24 Hour Fitness in which half the time I'm waiting for subpar machines that need maintenance) and there is no comparison here!!  Let's put it this way: It's hard to go back to regular cuts of steak after having Filet Mignon!!!I am a believer!!!  At first I was skeptical about a workout that you only have to do for twenty minutes once a week and getting the same results as going to the gym five days a weeks for hours at a time. Luckily for me, Joseph kept telling me about it.  Finally, one day I said let me try it and I was instantly hooked!  After one session I was amazed that my body felt like it worked out for a week at a "traditional" gym with a "traditional" workout.  By session three I saw my muscles becoming more defined.  I was excited because building muscle means burning more fat!!!  Since I've been doing slow motion training, aka The Power of 10, I've lost weight, have bought smaller jeans, and have a more sculpted butt...BONUS!!!  I'm the kind of girl that judges my weight loss success by the way my clothes fit and not by the scale.I'm all about health because I'm an RN and know the importance of health and building muscle.  I started this workout not necessarily aiming to lose weight, but more so to strengthen my lower back because back injuries are an occupational hazard of the nursing profession.  I transfer, lift, and move patients all the time, which takes a huge toll on my back.  Since starting the Power of 10, my back has been feeling stronger and less painful.  There have been a few times I've skipped a workout, and when I do, I feel the difference.  I feel more flabby and my back starts to bother me.  But after an intense workout, I feel stronger with little to no back pain! I love the fact that I only do this once a week!  Don't get me wrong, I'm not against working out, but who has the time or energy to be at the gym five to ten hours a week?!  I'd rather spend that time with my loved ones and doing what I enjoy.  One of my nursing friends suggested I try "CrossFit", but I said my workout is more time efficient with maximum results and much safer...why would I want to injure myself doing "CrossFit"?  I think we all know at least one person who suffered some injury from doing that kind of workout. Don't schedule your life around the gym.  Schedule gym into your life which is what this workout and gym exactly does!  This really works, if it didn't I wouldn't be driving from Pomona to Toluca Lake!  This is my longest Yelp review ever because I cannot say enough good things about the Power of 10 and InForm Fitness Toluca Lake, so come try it yourself and become a believer too!  If you're still not sure, here is a list of Pros and Cons to help you decide:PROS -Time efficient (once a week for twenty minutes) -Safer method of weight training (you won't hurt yourself like with other programs such as "CrossFit").-All training sessions are customized and molded to fit your needs and concerns. -Fast results in a short amount of time.-More muscle added to the body means a higher resting metabolic rate (burning more fat, even at rest).-The staff are all certified, knowledgeable, and friendly.-Top notch exercise machinery.-Once I start my workout I've never had to wait for a machine.-Gives you extra time to do what you want to do.  Live your lives, people.CONS -Wish it was closer BUT as you can see the Pros totally outweigh the Cons. I had my first Power of 10 session here yesterday. Their equipment is top notch! And the trainers really cares about your safety. I felt comfortable and ready before I started working out. I was about 3 machines in, and I started to panic because I wasn't use to working out at all. But the trainer reassured me that I was ok and that I can do it. I have been working out at Inform Fitness for 3 months now and I've seen incredible results using their Power of 10 workout.  I've never worked out before.  I've been intimidated by gyms and I didn't have the time or motivation to workout on my own.  As I have reached deeper into my 40's, it has become apparent to me that I need help and I needed to make a commitment to getting stronger otherwise I would start to feel comfortable with my soft and weak body.  I read the Power of 10 book and I thought even I can commit to 30 minutes a week.  My trainer is Ann Kirkland and she has been great.  She took me through each exercise and described the movements and benefits to me thoroughly.  She continues to make sure I am working out with the proper form.  Shes calm and comforting while encouraging me even further than I thought I could go.   With each week I've noticed changes in my body.   My body is more toned than its ever been.  I have visible definition in my arms and legs.  My core feels solid and I have gained strength.  My clothes are fitting differently and friends have commented on my changing appearance.  I've been so pleased with my results that I am continuing with my workouts with Ann at Inform and I can't wait to see what the next 3 months brings me. I love this place and my trainer, Sheila Melody, rocks! She has been helping me achieve my fitness goals through the Power of 10 method, which is a slow-motion, strength training routine. I have been doing the method for a few months now and each week I get stronger and more toned. I feel a significant difference in my core strength and any pain that I have, from sitting at a desk all week, is relieved after this workout!I have done many different workouts in my life and this one makes me feel the best without having to workout too hard or too much. Sheila has tailored the perfect workout for me and has taught me how to achieve muscle failure in our 30 minute sessions. It always amazes me when I walk out of the studio with my body feeling as it would if I had worked out for hours! Sheila is a knowledgeable, easy going, yet diligent coach and I recommend her to anyone interested in strength training and the Power of 10 method. Not to mention, the whole staff is wonderful, as well! More...

I never thought I would say this about a gym or fitness program but really really like this place.  I have had very little success with most other fitness activities but I believe I may finally have found the right fit....pun intended.  For those who don't feel like reading the whole review, here are some the highlights.-No pushy or aggressive sales pitch.-High quality equipment-Experience and educated trainers-One-on-one program-Fast and intense 20 minute workout-Workout done just once a week-Clean and well maintained facility-Extremely safe-Friendly and supportive staff-I noticed results within the first 4 weeks.I started working with Sheila Melody about a month and a half ago and to be completely honest, I went in expecting to hate it.  Instead, I pretty much liked it from the start.  There was no aggressive sales pitch or trainers with an abundance of misplaced enthusiasm.  Before the first workout, I spent a little time filling out minor paperwork about my medical background and talked about my goals.  I explained to Sheila that I hate group exercise and resent the participation in an activity for the sole purpose of exercise.  And when it comes to exercise, I don't really want to talk about it....I just want to get it over with.  To this she replied "Perfect!".When she took me into the gym, I immediately knew this wasn't the type I was used to.  The equipment appeared more sophisticated and of very high quality.  It looks more like what you might see at physical therapy.  There are about 15 pieces of large weight-bearing equipment that each target a different group of muscles.  She explained the method uses very slow, controlled, weight bearing exercises.  Each exercise is done continuously for about 2 minutes until the muscle is completely exhausted.  The whole workout lasts about 20 minutes and is done only once a week.....awesome!!At my first session, Sheila spent a great deal of time getting everything just right.  The position of the seat, the starting weight, my form, etc....all needed to be precise.  She explained that safety is the largest principle in the method and that the program is one-on-one for this very reason. I was reminded that nothing will knock you out of good exercise habits faster than an injury....good point. There were a couple of things I noticed about how Sheila worked that I really liked.  She never yelled or raised her voice, always speaking with clear and soft certainty, and helping me to stay focussed on the movements.  There was no 'rah-rah, c'mon you can do it' business.  Just basic instructions. There are a bunch of YouTube videos about their method (Power of 10) so I won't bore you with the specifics.  What I will tell you is that the workout is intese. After the 20 minute workout I felt like not-quite-cooled jello. am seeing results, feeling stronger and notice tone and definition in places that didn't have it before.  It's definitely worth checking out. I came to Inform Fitness and my trainer, Linda Cole, by way of my physician, Dr. David Allen, M.D.  I am 53 and have osteopenia.  I do not tolerate the meds for this (like Fosamax) so Dr. Allen recommended "slow motion high intensity" work with his trainer Linda Cole.  I had never done weight bearing exercise prior to working with Linda.    I have gained muscle mass and discovered muscles I never knew I had.  I used to think my bad posture was because I wasn't trying hard enough to stand up straight.  It was actually because I had such poor muscle tone.  People notice the difference in me and ask what I'm doing.  Yes it does just take 25 minutes a week. I think it's the best investment I can make in the rest of my life. More...

My friend started working with Linda Cole and right before my eyes I saw a transformation that was amazing...! She is a light weight, slightly timid woman and in a very short time she became so strong and was radiating self confidence! Well.. I wanted that, too!I am at the age where I have been loosing strength and it was determined that I have osteoporosis, so I had to get busy and turn things around. I have dedicated 30 minutes a week to my work out with Linda and after just 3-4 weeks the results were very apparent. I look much better and I can carry heavy things that were becoming difficult..... that is liberating!I love it, I will always be able to schedule 30 minutes a week into my life to make the difference that is so important to the overall quality of my life.Thanks. Linda! Thanks, Inform Fitness! More...

I was referred to Linda Cole because I had a strong therapeutic need for weight lifting, but at the same time was a good candidate for injury in a traditional gym setting.  I have now been doing high intensity very slow weight training for nearly a year with her.Linda is meticulous in her approach, continually supervising my form and insuring I don't get hurt.  And I haven't gotten hurt, not once. Now that we've moved to this great new facility, InForm Fitness, there's even more machines, which Linda takes advantage of, creating multiple routines that we alternate out week to week. The results for me, a sedentary middle aged man, have been very gratifying.  It's so encouraging to know that at my age I've been able to make my physique pleasingly better.  And yes by only going just once a week.Recommended. I have been training with Bill Culhane of Inform Fitness for over a year and it has been a refreshingly pleasurable experience.  The Power of 10 was an entirely new concept to me, and since I am a working professional I have limited time to dedicate to physical fitness.  I have lost a lot of weight and felt intimidated by even the thought of personal training.  After meeting Bill all of my reservations faded away.  Bill has an easy going, non-judgmental, yet professional style of coaching.  I was skeptical that a half hour workout once a week would deliver results.  Within the first couple of sessions I noticed a marked difference, particularly in the muscle tone in my arms.  I would encourage anyone to train at Inform Fitness with Bill Culhane. I have been working with Bill Culhane for about two months now on the slow motion power of 10 once a week workout.  It only takes a half an hour a week and the results have actually been better than when I was going to the gym three to four times a week.  Bill is a great coach and trainer and I would recommend him and this program to anyone with time issues who wanted to get a great workout and to build strength.  It is definitely worth it.
