I had a great experience at the Spot Salon. The salon was clean and modern but not intimidating like some of the salons around Austin. My stylist was friendly and experienced. She listened to me when I explained what I wanted and executed both the color and cut beautifully and efficiently. She was a great conversationalist and the time flew by. I was able to get in the same day I called for an appointment which was really convenient and the prices were really affordable. I would recommend The Spot to anyone, male or female. This place is great! It's like an anti-salon salon, just a chilled, relaxed environment. Shoni (the owner) is a master of color. She gives a great haircut, too. The Spot Salon is the best hair salon in ATX! I have some pretty hectic hair, similar to an old English Sheepdog and Shoni does a phenomenal job making me look like a human again! I know it’s tedious, but she is a rockstar at doing all of my blond foils (I get a full head) and she does a bang up cut and style too. My hair is just past my shoulders so my appointments always take a while, but Shoni makes it very enjoyable with great conversations and a friendly personality.So happy that I get tonnes of compliments on my hair these days... not the usual “Did you just wake up?” OR hiding my hair under a baseball cap.Make an appointment and go see Shoni, you won’t regret it! I originally came to Deena to get my hair layered and highlighted. It looked AWESOME! I came back a couple months later and asked to do my hair completely blonde. I have brown hair with red undertones, so this was definitely a challenging request. Deena was very knowledgeable and made sure she kept my hair as healthy as can be during this process. After two sessions and the color was still just not quite there, Shoni stepped in and literally stayed after hours for me making sure I left her salon a happy camper. After doing a lot of bleaching/highlighting.. making me think my hair was totally going to be damaged, the products they use made my hair stay soft and shiny. Went in to have a hair cut fix. I've always wanted an ombré and asked about it. Shoni did my ombré. I've been told upwards of 3 sessions at $250 a pop for my hair to be able to attain the color I wanted. I had black hair and was asking for pink. Shoni charged me very little for an ombré and took her time, when my hair wouldn't take the pink she put in she had me come back, no charge to put another more intense pink on my hair. Want high-end quality without the high-end cost? The Spot Salon is "THE SPOT"! It is a far cry from a head em in, move em out shop. I love this salon. The team here is incredible. Shoni is awesome. I'm one of those people that stylists hate- "just do whatever you want" :) Shoni had a vision and we're getting close to the final version of my style. Take 5 always does a great job on my kids' hair. It's reliable and convenient. More recently, I started getting blow outs from Leah at Take 5. She is incredible! She also does a deep conditioning treatment for me and has taken my hair from damaged/dry/dull to very healthy. I cannot say enough great things about Leah! I normally go to a swanky downtown salon (translate: high price) for all of my hair related services. It's nice to save a little money by getting a few services from Leah to maintain my mane. More...
