Delicious food carefully crafted, beautifully presented and described by the staff with pride, enthusiasm and an understanding of the journey of food from soil, nurture and production to the plate . An opportunity to really taste and enjoy amazing food combinations. Amazing experience from start to finish. The service is spot on and the staff are very knowledgeable about each course. Special mention to the sommelier, my she knows her stuff. Wow, first timer.....and will never be a last timer!! Back to basics, growing their own veg, rearing their own meat, knowledgable staff, can’t fault anything. I don’t want too. This is how food should be, and extremely creative. I mean - the fact that the other half ate kale and loved it!! Says it all! Great work, and now I’m going to book myself onto a foraging day! I had a beautiful vegan lunch here at The Small Holding. The staff were highly knowledgeable of what they were serving, super friendly, warm and welcoming. The food was fresh, vibrant and bursting with flavour. The menu clearly had a lot of thought put into it. The service went above and beyond. The whole place is clean and tasteful. We even got to have a wander around the gardens to see the vegetable patch where our food came from. I highly recommend it! More...

What an amazingly good discovery! This fabulous little place has only been going since April but is already delivering some of the best food in the South East. Locally sourced (a lot come from their own small farm) ingredients, talent, passion and charm make for an almost perfect dining experience. Matt and his brilliant team are incredible. There is a fixed tasting menu and a choice of either matched wines or matched non alcoholic drinks (or you can do your own thing). Seriously inventive and seriously good. Everything was perfectly cooked and presented. Difficult to pick out a star as it was all pretty much perfect. Just to add to this amazingly good food experience, their young sommelier Sally (who is equally passionate about wine and hugely inventive and also very charming) manages to pair unusual wine selections perfectly with the food. We will definitely return very soon and I think an early Michelin star is inevitable. @ The Small Holding More...
