Q&As

Capturing that special moment from a variety angles and perspectives.

Where will you require the drone service?
The location is important so that a site assessment can be carried out in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority regulation. A risk assessment will be created and followed to ensure the safety of the shoot.

The drone industry is relatively new to the UK. Drones are changing the way we do things and the benefits are starting to become clear. You can now save both time and money by utilising the latest drone technology available with fully licensed pilots to ensure your requirements are met and are fully insured and compliant with the Civil Aviation Authority.

I needed a fresh challenge in my life and had been looking for inspiration. I came across a video on social media demonstrating the practical uses for the latest drone technology and knew in an instant that it was what I had been looking for. It provides me with a new and exciting challenge every single day and I get to fly a drone for a living!

We use the latest drone in the DJI Phantom range which holds a 1 inch 20 megapixel camera for those stunning aerial shots and can also shoot video in 4k UHD at 60fps. The results are excellent and are beyond most people's expectations.
We are taking photography and videography to a whole new level.

Services

Building inspections of roofs, chimneys, towers, stadiums, wind turbines, etc, no longer require expensive cherry pickers or scaffolding to complete a survey. There is no longer a necessity for anyone to leave the ground, therefore making the project much safer and cost-effective. Our CAA drone operators at ‘The SkyCam’ can provide you with a series of high resolution images, or a high definition video of the most difficult to reach structures. Unmanned drones can fly close to buildings, and into awkward positions where other means of access many not be safe, appropriate or cost-effective.

Drones are the ideal solution for filming events, such as mountain biking, motor-cross, snowboarding, surfing, sailing or running based events. As well as providing stunning aerial imagery, drones are extremely versatile, and can safely be flown close to the crowd. For a larger event, where ground based photos just wouldn’t impress, drones can provide viewers a unique ‘birds eye’ viewpoint, which simply isn’t always possible with traditional methods.

If your event encompasses a large space with several activities, a drone can display the latest happenings on a large screen for all to see. What also comes with a drone is creativity; aerial imagery looks impressive, and is so much easier being able to capture incredible videos or photos without having to deal with obstructions and difficult terrains.

Drones are not just found at sporting events, they are also becoming extremely popular at outdoor parties, festivals and local events. The footage produced by a drone, can be a great marketing tool for any event organiser to place on their website. There is no better way to advertise your event than to give potential attendees a taste of what to expect.

Unlike more traditional methods of filming aerial footage, drones are discreet and can keep up with a high-speed event creating minimal noise. Battery-powered drones create zero emissions, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to helicopters.

Drones have also become the marketing tool of estate agents. They provide the opportunity to showcase properties with beautiful photographs and videos, which ultimately increases its saleability. Prospective homebuyers tend to have a lot of basic questions about the neighbourhood. With the use of a video you can enable prospective buyers to review how close the property is to a road, how well maintained the area is, distance to local facilities/schools etc. Many prospective homebuyers rely on more traditional methods such as Google Maps and street view to answer these questions, whereas drone footage can provide a more accurate idea of the size of the property and/or its grounds.

Apartment blocks, which can look relatively plain from a photograph or ground level can be given an aesthetic advantage by photographing the view from windows/balcony.

Our drones have state of the art ‘sonar’ technology, which prevents any collisions, making them completely aware of their surroundings and thus are ideal for indoor use too. As such, estate agents are also benefiting from videos of the inside of a large property. A drone can be safely flown indoors, therefore allowing prospective buyers the unique opportunity to ‘view’ the property from the comfort of their home.

There is no doubt that drones have enhanced the marketing opportunities of real estate, and increased the saleability of high end properties

Aerial photography and videography is ideally suited to the travel, tourism, and sports industries. Stately homes in beautiful landscapes, beaches, rivers, and forests that can be hard to show off to their best extent from the ground but come to life in an aerial photograph or video. The same applies to sporting venues and events such as golf courses, motor sports, mountain biking and rowing events.

A lot of people are now leaning towards drone hire for weddings, as it is a perfect way to highlight your special day, whilst exposing every element of the venue. Whether it’s a mountain side, beach or stately home, drones can provide spectacular sweeping aerial shots and lifelong memories.

The golfing world has also been revolutionised by drone technology. Many prestigious clubs are using drones to shoot tee-to-green films of golf holes, which act as an online guide giving players a fresh perspective of the hazards they face and difficult holes. This enables golfers to plan their game, which can ultimately improve their handicap. Aerial pictures and videos also act as a great promotional tool for the clubs themselves, allowing guests to review the facilities prior to attending.

Aerial pictures and videos are now a lot more accessible. Drones have negated the need for expensive manned aircraft, and can provide high definition still images or video footage of your chosen sites. Difficult terrain or even water isn’t an obstacle to a drone, they can fly over pretty much anything including lakes, rivers and even trees.
